I know there's a big game on Saturday, but there's an even bigger game to be played right now ..

All being well, i.e. barring injury, 10 of our players are shoo-ins for Saturday, like it or not.

Cech, Bossy, Ashley, Luiz, Cahill, Mikel, Lampard, Drogba, Mata and Kalou.

Some of you might argue over the merit of Kalou but that is not what this game is about. Every indication is that he is playing and it would be a massive shock if he weren't. Robbie has trusted him in big games, left him out on Sunday, and of course, Rambo is injured. I think we can safely assume he is playing. If he weren't, he would have been given a cameo on Sunday at the very least, seeing as his contract's up, and it would have been a fitting gesture.

That leaves one final spot up for grabs ..

Whose should it be, assuming everyone's fit?

Mods, sorry if this is the wrong forum, please move if so.

I don't want Malouda anywhere near the starting line personally, up i'd like to see this (Torres is 'the one' by the way)

Cech

Bossy, Luiz, Cahill, Ash

Lamps, Mikel, Mata

Kalou, Drogba, Torres

I'd go with Essien. I think if we can dominate in midfield, we'll win the game as their midfield is poor defensively. There's only one winner in a midfield battle between Essien, Mikel and Lampard, and Schweinsteiger, Muller and Kroos.

Maybe they didn't want to give him a farewell because they're gonna give him a nice shiny new 7 year contract :)

I think it'd be cool to see Torres out on the wing, he has indeed been pretty decent on the flanks when he's happened to be there (cross against Utd <3), not sure whether RDM would play him there but he said he'd been experimenting with stuff and we've had both on the pitch for a bit of the Newcastle and Blacburn games.

Failing that, Sturridge. He's been sh*t since Christmas but is just so talented that I think he's got it in him to show a moment of magic and do something special for us.

Though I've got a feeling it'll be Essien, and I never thought I'd ever find myself hoping Essien wasn't picked for a final but... :(

Malouda 100%. I don't see the point of playing the biggest game in our history and playing someone out of position, because we will lineup 4-2-3-1.

He was there in Moscow. It's probably his last game for the club. Again it's the motivation factor that is key.

This is actually part of the reason I don't want Essien playing, because I feel he's just lost everything that he helped him dominate midfields. He's just too slow and laboured now, and I feel those three would be too pedestrian against the munich midfield, it should be Mikel-Lamps-Mata imo

Torres all day long. He's technically better than Malouda, Sturridge and Kalou. His work rate is better and has experience. Plus, I think he deserves it. He's had a horrible time since he's joined, worked his socks off and got the goal at Barcelona. Playing in a Champions League final would be one of his career highlights surely.

This and the fact Id rather torres come on a impact sub. Napoli evidence he can come on and help.

Torres without a doubt, he can cause an already poor backline of Bayern's many problems! It only takes one good performance from Torres and we're in with a massive shout!

It seems that Malouda will be injured, so there's doubt where he'll play or not. But I don't think Essien has the pace to play on that right wing (which I presume will be the final spot). You could put him the middle with Mikel and Lampard, switching to a 4--3--3 but where would Mata play then?

No votes for Romeu which isn't surprising considering his recent form, and just a single vote for Sturridge, no doubt for the same reasons.

Unbelievable after his start to the season though, in December if you told me we would be in the CL final (!) and Sturridge shouldn't be anywhere near the starting lineup, I'd have thought you were crazy
