QPR vs Chelsea (PL) 15/09/12 KO 15:00 BST

Featured Replies

Hate international brakes off the back of a defeat, and it is even worse when it is off the back of a thumping.

So a few weeks to stew about that farce today and think about the next game, QPR.

Knee-jerk reaction team:

------------------------Cech

-----Cesar----Brana-----JT-----Bertrand

--------------Ramires-----Meireles

-------Hazard-----Oscar------Moses

---------------------Torres---------

Thoughts a few weeks away from this one? Back on the winning track? Changes afoot or same old same old?

Will the wheels come off after tonight's games and being falling off, as they did last season, at Loftus Road?

im going back to england for the first time in 7 years since i moved to australia, the only chelsea game that im there for however is this one, i know it is away but if anyone has any spare tickets going or cannot make it themselves if you could let me know it would be fantastic ! cheers.

I would drop Ivanovic for the next game , he has not played well and he needs a kick up the ass , he's scored 2 but overall he has been poor. I would play Cahill and Terry at the back. I would keep Cole ahead of Bertrand as well for now. Everything else is ok.

Ya the international breaks are blah but this should be a good match. I'm not sure if it will be tight or not, I feel the points lost last year to them had something to do with the red cards and think we could and should win this one by a goal or two.

Mata should be rested enough (ie. fully fit) for this match, but I would have liked to see us play a formation with orthodox wingers. You know, proper width holders. Maybe something like this:

Cech

Azpilicueta Cahill Terry Cole

Moses Rami* Mikel* Bertrand

Hazard

Torres

**I honestly don't know which combination that works best for us in the midfield. Maybe Ramires and Meireles? Maybe Oscar and Ramires? Maybe Oscar and Mikel? Has Lamps done enough these 4 matches to deserve another start?

But what I do know is that I would like to see our flanks run down to the byline and cross in, either 45 degrees out or in front of the keeper. A "trequartista"-trio behind the striker is very cool when it works, but if QPR does the unthinkable and score first then I would imagine us having a hard time trying to "break the deadlock".

It's a long time before the team needs to be selected, but we have had width problems ever since Duff and Robben left the club/got injured, and I can't say that I believe Oscar and Mata on each flank will fix this. I'm pretty sure Mata will start anyway, two weeks of rest should be enough, but this is my five cents for today.

Ivanovic should start, but his forward runs should be limited and Moses should play infront of him. Moses can create chances on his own with his dribbling and have some defensive skills to help Ivanovic when needed.

Mikel and Meireles should be starting as DMs, the first half against newcastle was probably our best team performance so far this season. I fear Lampard will have to much influence though and will continue to be picked in a position he struggles in.

Azpicjaskjldjfs ------- Cahill-------Terry -------Cole

Mikel --------Meireles

Sturridge ----------- Mata ----------------Hazard

Torres

Think Sturridge deserves a start, and I want to see if he can make an impact. I agree with Ozztheboss that Ivan needs a kick in the arse and so should be dropped. This is what I'd like to see, but there are other things I would object to as well (Ramires played in the centre, Oscar given a start, etc)

I actually think the International break, as much as I hate them, has come at a good moment. It gives us time to reflect on what went wrong against Athletico Madrid, and also for players to get it out of their system so that a loss in morale doesn't (hopefully) effect us.

This is the sort of game that Oscar has to start in really, preferably in the midfield two and not upfront. Would even start Romeu too but I think Mikel would be the better choice if a fully fit QPR team is picked. If not, then Romeu or Meireles.

Rest of the team picks itself really so not going to bother with that.

I wonder if there's any chance of seeing Azpilicueta or Moses. I would not mind starting both of them instead of Ramires and Ivanovic, but I doubt it's a good move.

Any news on Marin? Would love to see him play soon.

------------------Cech

Azpi----Cahill---------Terry-------Cole

---------Mikel--------Ramires

Hazard--------Mata-----Bertrand

----------------Torres

Agree that Branna and Frank should be dropped after the super cup. Huge test of character for Azpi, a debut away at QPR is going to be pretty intense.

My team would be....

Turnbhahah Cech

Azpi - Cahill - JT - Cole

Mikel - Ramires

Moses - Mata - Hazard

Torres

Some rumours say we have reached a preliminary agreement with Fener for Meireles. Their window is not closed yet so he may not be an option for the game. We wait and see.

Cech

Azpi Cahill JT Cole

Meireles Mikel

Moses/Oscar Mata Hazard

Torres

^ This is what I would like to see, we're playing against QPR, try Azpilicueta & try one of the new boys out at Wide Left. (Moses, Marin, Oscar). Definitely bring on Sturridge unless Nando has an absolute blinder.

Cech

Ivanovic Cahill JT Cole

Lampard Mikel

Ramires Mata Hazard

Torres

^ This is what I expect, Robbie never really seems to change his lineup, only when he really needs to, but we shall see.

Cech

Ivanovic Luiz Terry Cole

Mikel

Lampard

Ramires Hazard Mata

Torres

If we have any problem,I hope we can change quicker a few things.Give lampard a litte bit of rest when needed,Oscar in his place.Put in Marin If he is recovered allready..We have so many options, for every scenario a few so I hope we can adjust the team when we need it in this game..

Don't know if Marin is still injured or not, but this is what I'd like to see. It's a chance to rest some key players and bring new ones in, put Mata on if we really need to end in the end, otherwise Oscar, Sturridge and (whoever RDM picks) to make up the subs.

Predicting 6-1 to us, Torres hatrick.

Mata needs a rest has looked out of sorts...

I will cry when he picks Mikel...
