I don't agree with Torres' professional existence, but then a I don't agree with booing our own players at the ground, the booing creates a negative atmosphere that effects the whole team, I pay to turn up to watch that team, not put them off.

The booing of Chelsea players has no place at the bridge, no matter how sh*t they are.

Iago's ok, wouldn't pay 10m for him to be honest, the one thing that makes me question the story, its Marca.

Around £8M. Surely Llorente would be a better move. Can't say I have seen Aspas play though.

We could never sign Llorente, everyone would hate him. Think about how having three strikers at the club, Fernando Torres, Fernando Torres, Demba Ba. XD

Boo'd again apparently when walking over to applaud the fans, some classless c**ts out there.

Torres may possibly start Wednesday, if Rafa sticks to his striker rotation policy. Ba's performance away to the Saints is now the 'bench-mark' in fans eyes ... if Torres has another QPR, Swindon like performance ... well, u can imagine ...

I do feel a bit sorry for him....(but) if i didnt perform at my job regularly im sure hell would occur....Drogs went through a lean patch and there was shouting to get rid of him.....Lets hope this scenario changes for the best too

ATLETICO OFFER FERNANDO TORRES AN ESCAPE FROM HELL

Sources in Spain have told The Sunday Express that his former club Atletico Madrid will offer their prodigal son the chance to return to the scene of his former glories in the summer with a possible season-long loan deal.

And Torres, who has never denied that Atletico “will always be my club”, would probably jump at the chance to go home to the team that launched him on the road to £50million stardom and where the fans still worship him.

Pictures of the home-grown striker they nicknamed ‘The Kid’ still hang in bars in the parts of Madrid that swear allegiance to Atletico rather than Real.

Torres, who came through the club’s academy, scored 75 goals for them at the remarkable rate of almost one every two games.

That is in stark contrast to the Chelsea fans who heaped more misery on the out-of-sorts Spaniard last week when they brutally booed him after the Capital One Cup defeat at home to Swansea.

But Atletico are not alone in wanting to throw a lifeline to a player whose Chelsea career now looks even more threatened following the arrival – and immediate impact – of Demba Ba and the likelihood that the fast-emerging Romelu Lukaku will be recalled from his loan spell at West Brom at the end of the season. Former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is also set to try to lure Torres to Paris St Germain in the summer.

Another ex-Stamford Bridge manager, Claudio Ranieri, would also like to snap him up if he succeeds in steering Monaco back into France’s top flight.

Juventus and the Turkish giants, Besiktas, are also understood to be monitoring how this season pans out for him at Stamford Bridge.

But if the sorry Spaniard does indicate that he wants out of Chelsea after a seemingly never-ending nightmare since he moved there from Liverpool for £50m two years ago, Atletico would almost certainly be his favoured destination.

Madrid’s ‘other club’ are struggling financially and resigned to losing prize asset, Falcao, in the summer – with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich still desperate to take him to the Bridge.

If he succeeds, that would leave Torres – who still has three years left on his Stamford Bridge contract – as low as fourth in the striking pecking order behind Falcao, Demba Ba and Lukaku, unless there is a dramatic change in his fortunes between now and the end of the season.

“Atletico love Fernando and Fernando loves Atletico,” one Spanish source said last night.

“He might have to take less wages to make it happen, but it would be a match made in heaven if it does.”

With hectic Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League campaigns ahead Chelsea can’t afford to let Torres leave now, even though he has managed a meagre 26 goals in 100 games.

Abramovich, who has sometimes seemed a lone supporter of the struggling Spaniard, would prefer to recoup a large slice of the fortune he invested in Torres and sell him in the summer if he finally succeeds in getting Falcao.

But if that doesn’t happen, a loan deal looks likely to reduce an already massive wage bill.

I went to Sutton Utd v Wrexham yday, got talking to my step bruvs mate, he said his mate is good mates with Torres, goes to his house for dinner, been to family events ect, Torres told matey from day one its hard at CFC as he knows no one bar Roman wants(ed) him there, he said Torres is very quiet & shy & struggles with the demands of CFC & some of the senior players, hence Drogba,(poss Lampard/Cole) going, so if true Roman doesnt give a f**k just as long as his record signing Torres is happy.

Could be total bollocks but i've known the fella who told me that for yrs, he supports Sutton Utd/Oldham & no reason to bullsh*t, so who knows?????

That's bollocks (not that Torres would say that) I remember watching games where his team mates (esp. Frank) would pass on good opportunities just to give Torres the chance of breaking his duck, he was given every opportunity to make a go of it and fit in at the club from what I saw at match days.

It' wouldn't surprise me if Torres asked to be excluded from future games due to being boo'ed. I've never seen a footballer, heck I've never seen anyone so mentally weak and he's bound to only go further into his shell.

This part of that report really annoyed me:

"Heaped more misery on him"......"brutally booed him".  Why are Chelsea fans always being painted as the villains?  They've been very patient with Torres.  The man has been absolute pony for 2 years now and the awful performance against Swansea was the final straw for many.  I personally didn't boo as like others here, I feel it can be somewhat counterproductive........but I totally understand those that did.

Not sticking up for Torres anymore than usual, but he didn't lose us that game, and some prize dicks in that match thread, they couldn't wait for him to come on and oblige his haters...Doh

All this Torres hating is going a bit too far though, I hate the Blairs but I don't bring it up every day.

I dont blame him for the result.

But every Chelsea player was running to get the dead balls in play ASAP so the game could continue. Torres gave away an obvious foul, which happens, but then kicked the f**king ball away.

That made my f**king blood boil.

Torres brought on as a winger to provide balls for Ba...93rd minute, all the time in the world to pick Ba out at the far post, and the lad plants the ball 2 feet away from Ba's run...f**king horrendous.

Rafa is listening to the fans though, he responded to everyone wanting him in the right wing, he misinterpreted the message though, as everyone wants him in the right wing, of Heathrow airport, on the next f**king plane back to Espana.

Don't think he was that bad after coming on really. Only thing that annoyed me, as Kalou Time said, was him kicking the ball away after giving away a needless foul when we're trying to get the f**king win.
