I actually can't tell if this post is sarcastic. Could you make anyone excuses for him?

I support Torres at games as I would never boo a manager or a player but on the forum I'l be honest, I dislike Torres and the sooner he is out of the club the better I'll feel.

First off "say what"????

I won't make excuses if he's had a sh*t game i'll say it but watching him play he's had more good games than bad, He works hard for the team even if he doesn't score!! And does not deserve the amount of tosh you and other fans dish out!

In all honestly is rather see Torres go than Rafa that's how much I dislike the man. Don't rate him much as a player either, if he was just a poor player I could get behind him but his attitude stinks, his performances stink and the way the fans value him so highly stinks.

If Kalou or another of our ex maligned players put in the performances that Torres has in the last 23 months I dread to think of the abuse he would have got.

That is complete bollocks! How does his attitude stink? Just because he doesn't sit on the bench laughing and joking when he is a sub? What are you basing that on? The myth that torres has been at fault for the last 3 managers sacking?

Nope, based on the whiny kid like interviews he gives. He seems to think the problem is with the rest of the team when it's him who isn't pulling his weight.

I thought we had already been through this numerous times on this page? The w**kers at the sun, daily fail etc will do anything to make a headline worthy of reading! The headline and the actual real quotes are 2 totally different things. Give me an example of him being a whiny little kid.

You can't seriously believe his attitude has been anything less an abysmal.

Here is a quote from him straight after our Champions league final win, one of the best days in the clubs history.

“It’s contradictory because I feel like I’m at a peak moment in my career… but I’ve had to spend the final on the bench. There was huge disappointment when I saw the starting line-up, maybe the biggest disappointment of my life,” Torres said.

“This season I felt things I had never felt. I felt they have treated me in a way I was not expecting; not in the manner for which the club brought me here. We have had many conversations and, now the season has finished, we will have more talks… this is not the role for which I came. I’m not happy.”

You're right, we have. Last time it was over a link to a headline that screamed: TORRES BLAMES LONDON, and it was this headline that was used as evidence of Torres' "whiny kid like interviews", when in fact what is actually "whiny and kid like" is the deliberate misinterpretation of what Torres has actually says. You'll have to excuse me if I consider that the tendency to base an opinion of any player based on a deliberately misleading headline such as "TORRES BLAMES LONDON" is in itself far more "whiny and kid like" than anything Fernando Torres is actually known to have said.

You really should probably read what he actually says and mentally digest it before just lapping up the leadlines and shooting from the hip like a media sheep.

Regardless, you refer to him a sa whiny kid when in reality you sound very much like a whiny kid yousrelf, stamping your foot, refusing to support a Chelsea player because of a f**king interview 6 odd months ago.

I am not Torres biggest fan, I just say it as it is. I wish we had never bought him, but we did, he is currently a Chelsra player so instead of pissing and moaning and repeating things that have been said numerous times before you could always just get a grip and support your team and their players.

The only problem I have with those quotes are the " I felt they have treated me in a way I was not expecting". I don't know what he means by saying that and who knows what went on behind the scenes but if you think his attitude stinks just because of that one quote then you need your head checking.

Media sheep? I pay little attention to the media, they exaggerate but his attitude is still clear to see.

Many people refuse to support our manager based on interviews over 6 Years ago not sure if you're one of them but it seems a case of the pot calling the kettle black? I would never boo Torres or chant against him but I will never support him either. As far as I'm concerned I'l accept him but only because I have too.

I was against the signing when it was rumoured and gutted when we got him, didn't rate him highly at Liverpool and considering his injury record I wouldn't have paid 20 million for him. Sadly we paid much more which was a real shame as we missed out on my favourite striker - Aguero. I'm Getting off track though, it's not his lack of ability which bothers me it's his attitude which quite frankly is something I expect to be in order for a player at this level.

@Blue Hatter - 1 quote? There are many more I just don't feel like wasting my time finding them for someone like you who defends Torres like his life depends on it.

There are not "many more" you just realised how much of a muppet you sounded like.

Just save your beath most fans are not willing to look at the bigger picture all that matters for them is Torres is scoring goals. The same people will either disappear or be asking for his head when the goals dry up again.

This is where we differ. It's his form that concerns me far more than his attitude. I wasn't exactly over the moon when we signed him either. But like most Chelsea fans, I hoped my fears that we'd been sold a ringer would prove unfounded. For most of his Chelsea career it's fair to say that his form has been a massive disappointment.

This stinking attitude though? Look. Just the other day you were fuming. "How do you explain that?" You asked, or words to that effect. And the article that had managed to stoke your furore was none other than the one that screamed "TORRES BLAMED LONDON." The fact is that Torres didn't blame London, and so it was a little foolish to use such a grossly inaccurate and deliberately misleading headline in order to prove a point. In the majority of cases, it's been the same story. Torres gives an interview in Spanish, the media take a poorly translated phrase out of context, and fabricate a headline to suit.

Are you really that disgusted with a player who expresses disappointment at not being in the starting lineup? And your second quote: "this season I've felt... etc" was later shown to have been mistranslated and taken out of context.

It does seem to me that you have a somewhat irrational hatred of the player, based - no matter how much you deny it - on those self-same mistranslations and misleading headlines. You've already stated that you hate Torres more than the interim manager, which does seem a little strange to me, I have to say, but then you also appear to hold a grudge against Torres on the grounds that he's not Aguerro. I don't know of a single Chelsea supporter who wouldn't have preferred us to sign Aguerro rather than Torres, but that we didn't can be put down to the board, all the way up to Roman Abramovich. It's not Torres fault that he he was daft enough to blow £50 million on the player, whether that decision was made off his own back or following the inept advice of Emanalo and Gourlay et al.

Just save your beath most fans are not willing to look at the bigger picture all that matters for them is Torres is scoring goals. The same people will either disappear or be asking for his head when the goals dry up again.

I'm confused by this, when you say "The same people will either disappear..." are you referring to the people over the last couple of pages who have (quite rightly, in my opinion) objected to Hazard_a_guess's inexplicable wish to see Torres fail?

If you can look where he's come from to the CL final you can understand why he said that. He shouldn't have said it probably but he did. He's won everything. Everything there is to win. The last thing from his list to cross over was CL. All the other occasions he's had a big role and now he wasn't playing.

No... he had won nothing before joining us at club level - and it was only thanks to his big name he was even on the bench for the Final in the CL and FA Cup. Based on his performances he shouldn't uttered a word after  the game. He was extremely lucky to be getting some minutes in one of the biggest games in Chelsea's History, how many legends never had the opportunity to play for us in a Champions League final despite being far more integral to the team than the passenger?

Wrong on all counts.

All coming from a guy who said he would only bother to tune in for the final (if we got that far) in the Europa league...

A model supporter.

The only reason I can assume you have taken that so personally is that you fall into that category

What category would that be then? I am not sure the category you are claiming I am a member of actually exists outside of your little imagination but do feel free to tell me all about it...??

Can I ask a question?

In the posts above I see lots of quotation marks but no actual quotes, of if they're there, they're very hard to distinguish.

In short, it looks a mess.

Is this just me or is everyone else having the same problem?

Forgive me for my lack of technical jargon but I'm a bit of a luddite.

I thought I had too many bottles of Miller. But nope, Davey, you are correct.

Sorry mate, I just cant see any scenario where I would ever want a player fail for us, never. No matter how much I disliked them or wanted them to leave the club, any time they are on the pitch I want them to play well.

does that apply to the manager as well?.that is not a question directed specifically at you, but  i would like the rafa haters to respond.

For me yes, it does. I can't stand the fsw, but i do want to see him be a success as it means the club is successful, though I do find it difficult getting behind him during games.
