So Jose brings up the possibility of Torres leaving, then says we need three strikers (so if he leaves we need another one), then proceeds to say "Our belief is the market is closed for us".

So its a good chance Torres is going Jose just doesn't want to give anything away till its actually done

Impression I got from that presser is Jose putting Torres leaving at his door and not his decision...clever pr...a few days ago he said not going, now saying if he goes it's cos he wants to try a new league and have a new life after unhappy few years...very telling IMO

Surely Torres would have to go and do a medical also.I cant see the deal being done today. I would guess that it will all be done on deadline day to add a bit of excitment.

Just trying not to get my hopes up. It is a complex deal with Torres currently on massive wages and having to take a pay cut at Milan. Some how a deal needs to be worked that will please Torres. I would think that would be tougher than your normal transfer deal.

From our rumours section it has been said Roma's chairman has come out and said he will not sell Destro, 100%, after their fans reacted angrily to the sale of their star defender to Bayern Munich. That leaves Remy as our back up option who has Demba Ba written all over him (smaller fee, high wages, decent player but nothing special at the top end level). I just do not see Remy as a step in the right direction after Torres. We would be going from one exceptionally expensive mistake to a less yet still expensive mistake imo.
