CFC,

Of course I know Jose is on his weekly bull sh*t. I trust, Jose protects the club & most likely was consulted by lawyers before his press conference.

Whatever, comes out of it, we need to adjudge on a bit longer.

If it was up to me, I would pay him enough money for one way ticket to Italy. Lol.

I just think Jose was playing it safe, he could not come out saying Torres wasn’t needed or we wanted something different as if it went tits up we would be left with an even unhappier player who’s already fragile state would be shattered.

I’m not sure what will happen now as it’s days away from the window closing and we would require to sell another player if any other striker was to come in to replace Torres. Now we can’t go into a season like this with Costa and a 36 year old way past his best…that would likely be as bad or actually worse situation than last season.

It will be an interesting few days that’s for sure.

I completely agree we can not cope with 2 strikers one who's 36 and one who gets injuries quite a bit

Costa only had a hamstring injury towards the end of last season that he kept playing on without letting heal fully, and a 'small' muscular problem as of now. He's not known to be injury prone

I imagine everyone is playing their poker face at the moment to force deals through, or hold out for more money etc. Wouldn't be surprised to see Torres leave on deadline day, with us signing Destro or Remy as his replacement. No way will we go into the league with 2 forwards.

It's not about money owed in the contract. Chelsea obviously want rid of a massive wage drain and Torres wants to go. There is a game of brinkmanship where his agent is trying to get him the best deal, away from Chelsea with a severance pay which his is agent basically saying we could stay if you want, but if you don't well require X amount.

Chelsea have to decide whether it is worth keeping his entire salary, having a player who doesn't want to be there and isn't much cop or paying him 2.5-5 million to get shot of him and save 5-7.5 million on his overall wage and buy a decent striker.

Will Torres blink if Chelsea say no and forgoe the wages or will he bite the bullet and stay for another pointless year? I think he'll move without severance but I hope we don't leave it too late and don't get a quality replacement.

"I think Milan are going to make another signing still. Therefore, I'm going to hold back on judging them right now. Of course if Torres were to arrive, their prospects would change considerably. The Spanish forward is devastating when he's got space to run into and I think he would be perfect for the kind of football that Filippo Inzaghi wants to play."

Thanks, Antonio Conte. We owe you one.

Apparently the deal is off, Torres missed the plane.

U had me going their mate till u got to Torres missed the plane part I thought he really wasn't going but anything would not suprise me with Torres

All done according to the most reliable journo out there, Di Marzio.

Celebrate!

If anybody believes any media person knows whats happening in negotiations (if any) they are silly.

'Gave nothing' is also a massively off the mark. Hate the guy all you want but he did help the club to a couple trophies. One was quite a big one too.

No, he didn't win us the CL. If anything, it was RDM because he was the one who brought him on. We can also say, if Torres was not brought on maybe we would have still scored. Trying to give Torres cheap credit is not right. He cost us Drogba who could have given us at least two more years and probably a few more league titles, he cost us a bright young talent in Sturridge, he also played his part in a club legend like Di Matteo getting fired, and lastly, he got that big fat waiter to work for this club. If Torres gave anything to this club, it was mostly negative.

More likely we'll have to pay up a portion of his contract that's still left. It's a contract that we were happy enough to give him, and we're obliged to honour it. Perhaps it'll teach us to exercise more caution in future.

But if it's a transfer to another club with a transfer fee being paid, then I don't think the club has to pay anything.
