Gary Cahill - PL CL FAC LC EL champion

I guess you're not English!

I'm English and couldn't care less about the national team.

Heck I wanted Brazil to win so people wouldn't go on about it like we've won the world cup, European cup and the super bowl all at once.

Didn't watch the game though but I've heard good things about Oscar. Cahill not so much.

I'm curious as to why you don't support our national team.

Is it that the rise of the Premier League and Champions League has damaged the importance of the national team?

I support the National team, If I didn't I'd be calling for Benitez at the reigns and a recall for Rio...

As it is though apart from missing JT I thought they done well last night, Wilshere was good, Frank was good and Hodgsons not doing a bad Job, one Liverpool cast off that understands Tactics and values players regardless if they are Young or Old.

I no longer really care whether England win or lose, mostly because of the way the media, the fans and the FA have treated our players over the years. Maybe when our next generation comes through and the England team comprises of the likes of McEachran, Chalobah, etc... then I'll start supporting them again.

With John Terry in retirement from international football, Rio Ferdinand despite his age and nasty attitude is England's best central defender but Hodgson

   doesn't realise it.

I understand he also issued  warnings to Cole and Lamps about their chances of  making the team to which Lamps replied in the game against Brazil with a

   sparkling goal.

Apparently Hodgson has a hang up about over 30 footballers.

Nothing to do with that.

I refuse to support most of the players such as Ferdinand and Gerrard and the FA is full of cnuts. That's the heads and tails of it.

I take it that if you don't like certain players such as Gerrard and Ferguson you don't want them to play for our national team.

In other words, you won't support our national team if they are selected.

Rio on his best day is still an able defender, his best days are now rare and injuries and lack of game time mean he should never put the England shirt on again.

Here's Roys words on Frank...looks like hes not one of the thirty something Footballers he's got a hang up about.

"I'm rather hoping we'll still see him if not in England then in Europe, which will make my task easier. If he goes further afield and follows David [beckham to Los Angeles] it complicates matters but it doesn't mean your career is over with England. But the further afield you go, the more problematic it gets for the media and the England manager to follow you. That's for sure."

Yeah obviously Frank was never in his plans and he would never of thought of playing him if Gary Neville hadn't have twisted his arm.

I don't know why you bother Chippy. From Benitez to Sturridge, Torres to Cahill, he is always so out of tune with the general consensus of opinion that I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that Randy Wrong's half-baked ramblings are only posted to aggravate and draw some kind of opposite response.

Nothing to do with that.

Would you ever turn your back on Chelsea if all our players were assholes ? Yes the F.A are full of pricks but i don't support them, i support the England Football team. Our board are also full of pricks but like England it's not them i am supporting.

If Real Madrid fans can support Spain despite all the Barcelona players then why can't fans of English clubs do the same ?

Of course not we have out fair share of assholes but that doesn't effect my feelings towards the club.

I dislike international football and would love for it to be scrapped all together however seeing players I despise for most of the year presented as saints when they put on an England shirt leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

If anything I'm Anti-England not that I watch the national team anyway.

   I agree.

But some of the folks around here wouldn't understand that.

Because Madrid fans love the idea of Barcelona players doing 'their' bidding. Good luck finding a Catalan or Basque who gives a sh*t about Spain. Similarly, go to Italy and try and find someone in Florence or Napoli who gives a sh*t about the WC win.

If our players were arseholes, I'd want them sold or sacked, but I wouldn't turn my back on the club. The players are part of the team. I don't get how you can yell and write reams of abuse about all these players and then line up to suck them off once every four years.

But i don't say that many bad things about England players so i don't really know what the hell you are talking about

Right, you fill up your quota by saying bad things about Brasilians.

In all seriousness, I'm pretty sure Sydney meant "you" in a general sense, not you specifically, Scott.

Ok fair enough.

And i love the Brazilians, looking back at some of the comments i have made about them though you wouldn't think so :blush2:

It's a shame i wasn't on here when we told Alex to train with the reserves, i would have been able to prove that i don't have something against them

I want 'my old England' back.

Gary is an above average defender and was doing well in a Bolton shirt and TBH we have only seen flashes of what he might be and we see the odd good game now and then but for me he hasn't been consistent enough or made enough progress as a JT replacement.  Far too many times he over commits himself or is on the wrong side of a good striker getting turned very easily.   As in life you learn everyday and he only has a few years left to perfect his craft, not to say it can't be done but he'll have to work hard; once JT goes who is going to show him the ropes...Ivan?  and he among others has had hardly had a stellar couple of months.  Collectively the back four have looked like a ragged outfit and that can only be blamed on the fat twat in the dug out.  Things will only improve when he has hit the high road and we have someone in here that can actually coach and stops rotating players like a turnstile in Sainsburys.

The Brazil game summed up what I said about Gary on the first post. Defended well the whole game, only mistake was one when he was trying to play out the ball, which as I said is where he's made a few mistakes this season.

Unlucky not to score from that corner, couldn't help but laugh seeing Luiz pulling his shirt and being all over him though.

You really do embarrass yourself more and more with every post you make, Randy.  I think you ought to have a look at yourself, particularly at whether you could do some sort of course to give you SOME sort of insight into football.

I'm with hazard a guess here. I couldn't give a toss about the national team and actually find it funny when they lose. The fa are a bunch of c**ts and why would I support players I don't like. Englands success is the fa's success in my eyes so that is more than enough for me.

As long as the chelsea players play well that is all I'm fussed about. In the summer when england went out on pens after a 0-0 draw I couldn't be more delighted. Terry and cole were excellent and did all they needed to do but england and the fa went out.

I don't see any difference in supporting your Country as to supporting your Club where players are concerned, so England has some players I don't particularly like? I'm English and want my Country to do well regardless who plays for them.

I detested Ashley Cole, I didn't like Torres and wasn't too keen on Denba Ba but they play for Chelsea so I support them as I have with every Manager I can remember bar the Interim.

I find it more Logical to support your Country regardless who plays for them than your Club although in football terms I'm more interested in the Club and it always adds interest to International games when more Chelsea players are involved.

I was in France during the 2006 World Cup and being somewhere other than the UK really brought my support of the National team back with a vengance for some reason, every one I spoke to out there in my loud English passing off as French was right into it and passionate about the Football, it made me remember what it was like back in the seventies when the whole Country seemed a lot more behind the team than nowadays.

Funny thing is, if Jack Wilshere came to Chelsea we'd be happy enough to support him so I'm sure I can do it for the national team as I can even stretch to wanting Rooney to do well when hes got an England Shirt on.
