Well, Conte knows the team we can only observe during the match games and I think we can fairly say that when Azpi has been captain we've won 3 games and performed a lot better. I don't believe that he's only the team just because he's "English" I think in the past he has shown what a brilliant defender he was, but that's past it. Since 2015 I haven't seen Gary Cahill look even good, let alone decent, his performances are getting worse and worse by the games.

It might be a fair estimation that the team plays more confidently when Cahill isn't in the back 3 and someone else is leading the line, he made some ridiculous decisions in that Arsenal game that made things very uneasy.

That's my point bud. I don't even see Cahill as a bad defender by any stretch of the imagination. I like the grit that he gives us as he can be very good at the gritty throwback defender things. His tactical ability which i touched on is even not much of a problem for me.

My main point is that the team had achieved a certain understanding and balance without him and I feel in such situations you let normal team fatigue and injuries dictate how the team is picked. The team harmony can be easily disrupted by bringing in one player that doesn't need to be there not because they aren't good enough.

Perhaps, I know you aren't directly blaming Cahill for the score, you're making a logical argument I assume. I think it's logical Cahill downgrades the team and that's not just in defense even on the ball I think he's poor and he invites unnecessary pressure, Alonso had to struggle on his side today. But for a team that was disorganized in the first 60 minutes (which I don't think is just down to him, Cesc was awful at coping with the pressure) I thought he was okay, didn't make too many mistakes given the high pressure.

He's certainly not a fan favourite, but hopefully, this doesn't become another Ivanovic situation. Fans can turn on anyone even players who have singlehandedly won this club trophies, that's what happened with Ivanovic.

Haha, I always say it fans are the most disloyal. If the attitudes of fans where it comes to loyalty is generally the way in all spheres of life, humanity is done for, big time.

And that's why you will always see me back players when they have a dream move (not even a dream move in all cases) to another club. The fans will say this and that....oh he's not loyal, he's a pri**. Give that player a 3 game poor run, the players want him oot the door as fast as they can get him out.

Anyway on the topic of logic and to be rational, a point from a game with what not too long ago would be considered a direct title/top 4(whichever you prefer) rival isn't bad and we have already played 3 of the top 7 teams last season so we push on. Come on Chelsea!

Obviously I don't agree with the abuse but  there was absolutely no need to disrupt a back 3 that hasn't conceded a goal from open play since he was suspended. Pretty sure Conte himself knows how crucial it is to have a settled defence that know each other without constant disruptions.

Cahill for me needs to be relegated to cup appearances and the occasional sub when we need to defend a lead.

Abuse he gets in ridiculous. Don't get me wrong he is not a World Class player but is solid and usually reliable.

Took far too much criticism yesterday in a game we kept a clean sheet! And adding to this Rudiger looked a nervous wreck when he came on in the Champions League so it was the correct decision to play him.

I'm disappointed with our reaction over him. He's our captain, what kind of support do we show with all these tweets, comments?

We didn't lose and kept a clean sheet, plus he wasn't the one who received a red card. He had some errors, he is not a world class defender but let's not forget that he has a big responsibility on his back and he does his best every game.

Conte knows best, he has an explanation behind every decision, I also believe that Rudiger is a better defender and he is a bigger improvement to our defense, but Conte knows what he is doing and we should respect that.

Stay strong Gary!

And what, whats that supposed to prove? Hazard miss-controlled a ball, show that video? Morata missed a header, show that video?

A player miss-controlling a ball or missing a header is part and parcel of the game. A defender purposefully attempting a back heel that close to his own goal surrounded by Arsenal players is just plain retarded.

True.

That bloke is a bit of a knob-end, dicky, seemingly forever trawling the internet and twatter to find pictures and video that make our players look bad.  Makes you wonder, really.

One thing I noticed in yesterday's game the gap between Cahill and Alonso was too big quite a few times. Alonso is slow so can't get back quick enough and Bellerin would have all the time in the world to pick out a cross.

Is that how a back 3 sets up? Surely if Cahill pushed out slightly then you would have 2 CBS covering in the middle plus the RWB and Kante.

It's not about mis-controlling a ball. He starts relatively pressure-free, in a situation where a more accomplished passer like Rudiger would be able to move the ball forward quickly and get us on the attack. Cahill faffs around, gets into a mess and we concede a throw-in near our area rather than being on the attack. It's poor decision making and shows his limitations on the ball.

I mean, no need to call him a dick or anything as he's a thoroughly decent bloke and a good defender, but I think we need a CB that is more comfortable on the ball to help take the team to the next level and Cahill should no longer be an automatic starter.

Ahh personal insults again. Delightful bloke you are, YB. I'd love to know your spot-on opinion on Gary's well thought out back heel and clearance?

Extremely well put.

I think all Chelsea fans like Cahill and appreciate what he has done but now, whenever I watch him - especially in the games against the top 6, I fear he is going to f**k up. He never looks comfortable with the ball at his feet. Christensen is still young and will make mistakes but he is the type of player who IS the way forward.

Can't argue with that, he possibly should no longer be first choice but as I said I do understand why conte picked him. What's annoying is people jumping all over him after yesterday when he had a good game. As ever certain fans have an agenda with a player and just use every opportunity to slag them off, calling them a spastic, c**t etc.

Cahill is the new Luiz in the back 3. He seems to play on the edge and last ditch defending, very similar to Luiz in a back 4 when anything could happen and it usually did but there was no one to save him apart from Cech.

That's twitter tbf, dangerous place for your brain, no idea why I even posted the link I should have expected no better.

That's an app you'll find the most ungrateful fans.
