March 1, 201412 yr Scored today against West Ham on his first match back. Really want to see him impress, this guy really could be a chelsea legend, look at what all these 50+ mil strikers were doing at his age, most of them not a lot, what was drogba doing at his age, he was a nobody. This guy is the real deal, in 2-3 yrs time he could be the best striker in the league. I do feel that now is his time to show Jose what he can do, if he has a poor end of season he may be sold. Being we've played Everton twice I really will be cheering him on in all there games.
March 1, 201412 yr He needed the break... Everton had pretty much played him every single minute after his first goal and towards the end he just looked out on his feet in a few games... he might be built like a beast but he's what 20/21.... I understand why he went on loan and it's proved good for him to an extent but in some ways I feel it was a mistake. He would have got game time with us the right amount of game time and he would have shown he had a stomach for the fight.

If we go on to win the league this season and Lukaku comes back to us next season a better player then the loan was justified and the right decision. An improved Lukaku will be a big asset for us next season im hoping. Edited March 3, 201412 yr by jack_super_class
March 4, 201412 yr Lukaku has scored as many (10) or more than: Rooney J. Rodriguez W. bony Negrado Eto Soldado Welbeck Dzeko And benteke
March 5, 201412 yr I'm all for Lukaku being out number 1 striker. All we need is a 15 goal in the league player and we walk to the tiyle
March 5, 201412 yr He should have gotten a few tips from the Drogba in the friendly today Edited March 5, 201412 yr by Las7

March 6, 201412 yr The more I think about our potential striker signings in the summer and their associated costs and weaknesses, the more i'm convinced that Lukaku should be the main man next season.
March 6, 201412 yr I highly doubt he would offer us less than any of our current options. I would sooner Jose give him the birth as well.
March 6, 201412 yr Well he's hit double figures for the 2nd conservative season in the league, not sure when the last time a striker did that for us? I think he deserves to be involved next season but I think he will still be 2nd choice.
March 6, 201412 yr 29 goals from 41 starts and 26 sub appearances... Goals don't tell the whole story and he still has some learning to do , but at least he still can learn...

I think he deserves to be involved next season but I think he will still be 2nd choice. I think that could work to be fair. I was dead against his loan move to Everton initially however on reflection, despite our striker woes, it will have had it's benefits looking at the big picture. He has had another season under his belt for a club that in a tier up from WBA and I would like to think he has developed into a better player all round because of it. I get the feeling that Jose thought he may have had a fair bit to learn in the summer and presumably just didn't think he was ready with the burden of being our main man- he is still bloody young lets be honest. Is he ready now? Who knows.... If we could land a striker such as Cavani (I'm still holding out hope) and have Lukaku as the number 2 who is getting 30 mins here and there amonst starts in cup games then he is still going to have massive role at the club and get plenty of game time.

Why have people all of a sudden given up on guys like Cavani and Falcao? Did I miss something? I know Cavani signed with PSG but from what I last heard, he's unhappy playing out of position there and there's still a good chance he gets moved again. Falcao didnt go anywhere, so why have people stopped thinking about him? Did he say he doesnt want to come here or something?
March 6, 201412 yr Falc isn't worth the investment with bum knee- Cavani we won't get without giving up one of our players as a make weight... The other threads have brought up Mario again, and without cl football I could see him moving on...might as well be here. Lukaku/Mario combo would be some sicktits mate
March 6, 201412 yr As a sidebar if Mario sincerely wants be be the best striker of his generation a chance to work with JM would massively increase his prospects. Under seedorf at Milan they might even take Torres as part of the deal?!??
March 6, 201412 yr However a chance to piss off both red and blue of Manchester could be another reason to be a chelsea player for mario
March 6, 201412 yr However a chance to piss off both red and blue of Manchester could be another reason to be a chelsea player for mario Yeah im sure citeh fans would be raging. Here we are signing Balotelli, a player they chased off, while theyre stuck with Aguero, Negredo and Dzeko
March 7, 201412 yr I am going to be very over critical on Lukaku here just for the sake of pointing out this minor little thought that has been bothering me. Would he fit in here? Lukaku is like a raging bull at times but I have concerns with his footballing abillity in general. When he has played for us he has never looked good, and that's where I am being over critical because under the circumstances it's going to be very tricky. But for the sake of pointing this out, do you think that Lukaku will do well here? I think there could be a chance that it might not suit him, Lukaku isn't a player that has a great first touch and that's one of the biggest issues I have with him at the moment. It's a big reason why Ba doesn't play despite being more of an anticipating forward than Torres and Eto'o. Ba can't link up with the team whereas Torres can (at times) and Eto'o doesn't necessarily have utterly awful games.
March 22, 201412 yr I like his anticipation after he played Kevin out wide. No doubt Everton missed him during his injury - seems fully fit now Edited March 22, 201412 yr by Las7

I feel as though link up play is the big thing we need in a striker right now.
