TBH, i wont understand that kind of move. the idea of giving a player (especially young one) a chance is to hold on on him even if it is tough. i dont expect him to drill goals from the start but i do expect our managment to give him the time to adjust to our system.

 

He is so good, i keep hearing this "he is too young and inexpirianced to lead our offense" mantra, and it might be true, but stars shine only when they are given a proper chance. wasnt messi too young and inexpirianced to lead barca? ronaldo? 

 

To clarify myself, i do not say that lukaku is in the level of the likes of ronaldo, messi etc but compared to them at that point of being lukaku is just as talented.

At nearly any other club in the world if they had a player of 21 who was capable of scoring close to 20 goals a season they would get him locked down on an improved contract and be looking to give him game time whenever they can.... For some reason when we manage to find a decent youth prospect we don't get them into the first team.

 

It doesn't matter that we paid £12m for him it would still reflect well if we bought him through into the first team because other young players would look at the club and think that coming to us is a good career move.

 

I'm not saying to play him every week but when you look at our rivals and there are players such Sterling, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Welbeck and Jones to name a few who are being given a chance to prove their ability you just have to wonder why we seem so reluctant as a club to do the same.

I'm with you pal.  We really need to give him a chance to play next season, and not ship him out.

 

How many of the youngsters who we have brought in, and loaned out a couple of times to get experience and develop have gone on to play for our first team?  Players will start looking at players like Oscar and Mikel who walked into a first team roles at a fairly young age, without the loan gauntlet to run (despite what must have been concerns about his physicality and strength for the English game), and question if Chelsea are really that serious about them, if they are 18-19, and are being pushed to go through the loan system again and again.

 

Is it a case of, if you are good enough, you'll be a first teamer right away - if not you'll be farmed out to increase your value, and get sold when the team need to make a big splash signing at the position you play?

If we were desperate to sell him Dortmund would have bid by now.
