His goal was very well taken though.

Yeah he looked really clumsy in the build up to De Bruyne's goal. He took that heavy touch and the ball got away from him before he delivered the poor cut back that Kevin somehow managed to redeem.

His goal was an indication of what he is capable of, I just hope it doesn't go to his head as IMO he still doesn't deserve to be starting as that other striker done far more in the 2 games he's started than Lukaku.

Don't know how selling Mata can be seen as anything other than a mistake at this point. Oscar has been been incredibly underwhelming from the promise shown in his first season as well as Willian, Schurlle, Salah not showing enough quality and end product going forward for me. Too much burden has fallen on Hazard to create when we're up against it and though Mata's delivery wasn't always perfect it's clear to me we miss him at set pieces.

We used the money from the mata sale on matic and salah. Matic added more to our team than mata did in the whole first half of the year and salah we will find out if it was good business in the coming season or 2. Mata hardly went to united and lit it up did he and he clearly failed to adapt to our style of play under jose so he was pretty much just a luxury player to have.

De Bruyne looked tired in ET but put in a right old shift, Lukaku came on when heavy legs were about and to his credit took advantage. De Bruyne showed what Jose said was missing from his game. Acid test will be Argentina and possibly Holland.

I don't understand this entire situation.  If we are in fact loaning him to A. Madrid without him signing a new contract, I don't think we ever see him play in Chelsea blue again.

That would make sense but I don't really see him come back to Chelsea. Well maybe the club just wants to run Torres' contract out before he is brought back. Thank god Torres is on his last year. I think Lukaku will do fine at Atletico and if you think about it Simeone's style is very similar to Jose's. Maybe it'll pan out well for us after next season...

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Torres' deal runs out in summer of 2016, not next year.

Lukaku should be able to play with Atletico, at least that's the latest news.

I just wonder if he ever comes to play with Chelsea. If he doesn't extent his contract with Chelsea, we might as well say goodbye to him next year.

No point loaning him out this summer. Either he wants to stay and play or if he wants to leave then we should sell him to he highest bidder.

I guess the problem is because he hasnt been that great at the world cup his price tag has probably dropped below what Chelsea had hoped to get for him.

If he is loaned out again he'll never play for us.

Thought he'd make a good sub, but hes maybe not content with that.

If he is let go, then that leaves us with Torres and Ba on the bench, who are both worse than Lukaku.

Unless we are buying another striker, this wouldnt make much sense to me.

It seems to me that Lukaku demands too much. His arrogance if true, doesn't sit well with Jose, I feel. I guess if he goes, Jose is getting a striker.

He lost his place to origi, and showed good attitude against usa, it will be interesting to see what his reaction will be, if he doesn't start again tomorrow. If he comes on again with good attitude, then I think it shows he is willing to try and earn a spot in the side. If he looks disinterested, or makes any stupid comments to the press, then I don't think he is ready to play for a club of chelsea's stature.

Personally I think he will get his head down, and try and play his way into the side as he did at national level with benteke, and club level with Shane long.

He also only has 2 years left on his contract, so I can only see him going on loan, if he signs an extension. Otherwise he will be sold, or given a place in the squad.

Since it looks like we're signing Costa, it should be Costa and Lukaku as our main 2 strikers, and then probably Torres as a 3rd option if we are absoutely desperate.

I'm not sure, if the club offered him a nice pay rise, on a new 3/4 year deal, then I think he maybe willing to sign it.

I would like to see him with Chelsea.
