Oscar - Little Diamond

Featured Replies

If Oscar couldnt get on the pitch that dig might be valid, hes been given plenty of time and it just hasnt happened for him and I doubt it ever will. Dont think anyone would complain if he did well in Italy

People have moaned about selling Ryan Bertrand. Someone will about Oscar if hes banging in the goals and assists in Italy.

Just like KDB, no one complained when he left, then City bought him, we all know the rest.. I could see the same happens to Oscar

Again, this would be valid if Bertrand actually got a shot here. He never did. And dont act like people werent pissed when KdB left, plenty of people were.

Starting a CL final is a pretty good opportunity. He must have had a seasons worth of appearences for us not to mention the loans, thats seems like enough chances. Youre never going to find someone whos left after being given the exact time and chances Oscar has. Doesnt mean they are not valid

And most here was very happy with his performance. They were upset he was sent out on loan and upset he didnt get a sniff when Mourinho returned. The situations couldnt be more different. No need to rewrite history to fit an agenda

Not rewriting anything. People have complained we sold Bert, Mata, KDB etc... People will complain we sold Oscar if/when we do.

So what is the point exactly that you're trying to make?

We'll sell him, he'll do well in Italy (imo) and then we'll get to read about how Jose shouldnt have sold him, made a mistake, should have played him differently.... was that not clear in the first post I made about it?

Because it's not clear if you're against selling said players or against people complaining about selling said players.

You're just recounting what's previously happened without actually making an argument.

So no, it isn't clear.

You can't read well enough or what? Lol he is obviously against selling Oscar.

Dont want to sell him unless management thinks theres a replacement at the club already. But he'd be good for Juve.

I was having a go at everyone who moans about how we should have kept all these players we've sold.

This one has had more than a chance, to be fair, so the KDB comparisons don't really have any weight.

If he starts to perform elsewhere, there won't be too many grumblings I think - not towards the club, at least.

Think you're way off the mark here pal. Oscar has been here since 2012 and had every excuse going for him. He's finally had this long awaited rest and he is still the same player. Good in glimpses but far too inconsistent. Unlike KdB and Bertrand and even Sturridge who I were clearly not given a chance I will not complain if Oscar does the business at Juve. Just have to hold your hands up and say he wasn't built for the Prem. Its criminal that we sold Mata at his expense. Even KDB wouldve provided more attacking threat in that number 10 role .

You're moaning about people moaning. Funny that. Ever considered fans have their favorite players and are sad (which leads to most complaining) to see them go?

Oscar is clearly built for the premier league as proven by the times when he hits for and rips apart teams, yes he has gone through periods of bad form (usually when we as a team are playing badly) I wouldn't even say he has been in overly bad form this season, everyone in the team just aren't playing well together and Oscar shines in a team on the front foot not necessarily playing on the left wing being asked to just track back which he has done admirably. If Oscar isn't suited to the BPL why were a lot of people clamouring for him to come back when he was injured for a chunk of the early season.

Ok so he can run around and put in a crunching tackle, but in reality he is a sub standard attacking midfielder. For Chelsea he is anyway. He has yet to prove that he can be a vital attacking outlet for us since he arrived. The odd glimpse here and there is not enough.

Even though the whole team are bad, I've seen what the likes of Hazard, Costa, Cesc to a lesser extent Willian and Ramires (that goal vs Barca will never be forgetting never mind his goals in big games vs liverpool, Utd, spurs, City and another two assists vs Napoli and Barca) are capable of doing . I've never seen the likes of attacking prowess digging his team out the mud from Oscar. I don't want a player who can only play good when the team plays good (even then hes still average most of the time).

People were clamouring for him to come back (even me) because we were clinging onto that last excuse that lack of rest during the close season had held him back since he signed.

Let's face it, too much emphasis is placed on defence and our number 10s best skill should be shooting and intricate passing to unlock defences. Not tracking back and putting in sliding tackles. No wonder why our team stugglr to create chances. Attack is alien to us now.

I think José just wasnt a fan and that caused Mata to want out.

Oscar, despite having plenty of rest this summer, looks exactly like the player he did when he came here. Very talented but only shows up in glimpses and overall he is a very underwhelming player. He might do better in Italy and for the quoted price Id love to get an upgrade in

Is he though? i struggle to see what he is actually good at.

You're moaning about people moaning. Funny that. Ever considered fans have their favorite players and are sad (which leads to most complaining) to see them go?

Sure they do. Im not trying to instigate a philosophical debate about the nature of football transfers. Just saying IF we sell him I fully expect people on here to conplain when he does well in Italy.

I think Oscar is crucial to our pressing game, and leads the 'defend from the front' policy fantastically well when he plays. I wish he was playing more this season, I think him, willian and pedro would make a good trio

So do we know @ what price do Juventus want to buy Oscar? Can Pogba be part of this deal ? There is no information and without any information i cant say if the idea of selling a player is good or not.
