May 31, 201511 yr It will be nice to seeh im after a summer off, hopefully he can work on his core strength a little and perhaps not be so afraid to take players on. A great asset but is known to go missing.
June 1, 201511 yr If we Get a bid of £30m and more, we should say yes in a flash and help with the packing Edited June 1, 201511 yr by The Brit
June 1, 201511 yr Wondering how some would feel about Gotze in place of Oscar. Some of the Bayern hierarchy (we all know how much they love to speak) have spoke put suggesting he isn't working out at the club as they imagined and that he's like a child on the pitch after losing duels etc to paraphrase. So considering they paid 32m I think we could get him for around that price. He is a more traditional no.10 in the creative sense that a lot of people are pining for. Also he is the same age as Oscar if I'm not mistaken. It was only a few seasons ago him, Hazard and Neymar were touted as being the future posterboys of football. Admittedly he hasn't been as good since his move to Bayern but when on song as we saw in his Dortmund days he is an amazingly creative player.

If Bayern want shot of him because of an attitude problem then I personally wouldn't want to take a punt on him in the hopes he works out any better here. We've invested 3 years into Oscar's development in our team, to throw that away on someone who isn't showing the right mentality at a big club would be too risky. I'd stick with Oscar, the team plays best when he is in the side. He's got a summer off for basically the first time in his senior career, let's see if he can finally deliver the consistency in his performances. If not, next year I would be looking to change things.
July 14, 201511 yr Saw this on Twitter about Oscar. Anyone agree? "Hard to believe that 'underwhelming' Oscar scored the same number of league goals as £50m-rated Sterling last season + just one less assist. Raheem Sterling had 3053 minutes on the pitch in the Premier League last season, Oscar 2083. Food for thought."

Really, Oscar got most of that tally in half those minutes, as the other half was almost pure dross where as Sterling is far more consistent throughout a season. If Oscar could marry his top form with consistency, Ahhhh too excited at the thougt to even finish the sentence.

July 15, 201511 yr Why is this hard to believe? Who honestly thinks Sterling is better than Oscar? Previously Liverpool fans, now Manchester City fans.
July 15, 201511 yr Why is this hard to believe? Who honestly thinks Sterling is better than Oscar? I'm surprised you don't considering he plays for a team that isn't Chelsea. Although many think Sterling is overrated, I've never understood the hype of him personally. He seems to be able to take the ball past a few players not seen much else that is spectacular.
July 15, 201511 yr This is a make or break season for him noe I think. he's had a lot of rest and about to do the full preseason. Time to show his true potential.
July 15, 201511 yr I'm surprised you don't considering he plays for a team that isn't Chelsea. What's this all about? Just because Remodez doesn't have blue tinted specs on when it comes to opposition players. Don't dig him out for expressing his opinions when they are perfectly justified.

Don't dig him out for expressing his opinions when they are perfectly justified. Seems to have something against me, which is perfectly fine but it makes having a discussion impossible, usually resulting in him making silly jabs like that for no reason.
July 15, 201511 yr I don't think anyone doubts that Oscar is good for the first 3 months of the season, it's the rest of the season where he's virtually a passenger that is the problem.
July 15, 201511 yr Author Not really worth comparing as very different types players. Sterling can get past.players and burst forward with pace but decision making and end result often not good. Oscar links the play and creates chances with clever positioning and flick ons, he has more maturity and intelligence. Not sure why he fades a little in the last qtr of the season but expect him to be key player this year now he has had a proper rest Oscar for me of the two in terms of overall potential and value
July 15, 201511 yr The lads talented but he has had 3 seasons with us now, he needs to step up. This is a really big season for him, possibly his last with us.
July 15, 201511 yr I agree, kind of a make or break season for him. The thing is he wasn't really injured in the last couple of seasons, just ran out of steam in the second half of the season. Maybe not fit enough?

Maybe not fit enough? Definitely would appear that way but then I guess when you think the season with the Olympics I believe he played 80 games in one football season....that is ridiculous. Maybe it was too much too young?
July 16, 201511 yr People said it was make or break last season. I'm sure next season will be as well.
July 16, 201511 yr Make or break in what sense? Is being a key part of a title winning side not "making" it? Like any player, especially the younger ones, you always hope that they continue to improve aspects of their game but Oscar has already shown that he is vital to Chelsea's set up.
July 16, 201511 yr Hazard would win games for us at points last season single handedly, when the rest of the team played badly, Hazard would turn it on. But the rest of the team still played badly. When Oscar played well the whole team seemed to play well last season. There is the question, does Oscar make the team tick, or does he need to the team to tick for Oscar to play well

When Oscar played well the whole team seemed to play well last season. There is the question, does Oscar make the team tick, or does he need to the team to tick for Oscar to play well Good point, although I think last season in particular the team was playing with a lot more attacking freedom in the first few months. Cesc had a lot more license to roam forward, and Oscar was regularly exploiting the spaces created when we overloaded in attack. I'm a big fan of Oscar, I'll admit his impact faded in the second half of the season, but I think his game suffered from our slower, more cautious attacking approach in the later season.

There is the question, does Oscar make the team tick, or does he need to the team to tick for Oscar to play well I thought Fabregas played better when Oscar was in the team, it seemed to work really well with Oscar`s movement and ability to find space giving Fabregas another pivot to play off. Shouldn't really compare him to Hazard, he`s a one of with more ability when taking players on.
