July 16, 201511 yr I thought Fabregas played better when Oscar was in the team, it seemed to work really well with Oscar`s movement and ability to find space giving Fabregas another pivot to play off. Shouldn't really compare him to Hazard, he`s a one of with more ability when taking players on. Not a comparison, just looking at what different players bring to a team is all
July 16, 201511 yr oscar is a quality young player, and at the age of 23 can only get better, not worse. I honestly don't understand why we would even entertain the idea of getting rid of him. whom out there is much better and the same age, or even older? also, another question would be, pogba is one year younger than oscar and what has he achieved compared to oscar? difference now, is that pogba is valued at over 2x the amount that oscar is. if pogba has all this "potential" then so does oscar; not forgetting the latter has played in a more challenging league over the last 2-3 seasons. July 16, 201511 yr As you can see, their stats are very similar and both have been improving, though in my opinion oscar has been playing at a higher level (in terms of league) than pogba has. July 16, 201511 yr Not a comparison, just looking at what different players bring to a team is all Sorry, I understand that, and it is a good way of showing how a team needs more than one type of attacker. In our case I think we are lucky we have 3 different types in Oscar ,Hazard and Willian.
July 17, 201511 yr Vast experience you say, which one of them has appeared in a Champions League final?
July 17, 201511 yr Vast experience you say, which one of them has appeared in a Champions League final? World Cup appearances, Premier League winner..... I think a lot of people on here look at others thinking that they'll magically come in and solve everything without any basis for reason whatsoever.
July 17, 201511 yr World Cup appearances, Premier League winner..... I think a lot of people on here look at others thinking that they'll magically come in and solve everything without any basis for reason whatsoever. Pogba played at the same world cup for France (winning the WC young player of the year), and has won 3 Serie A titles. I don't really understand this "Oscar has more experience" or has "accomplished more" nonsense. Edited July 17, 201511 yr by Jonty
July 17, 201511 yr Quoting sucks on my phone but barak raises an interesting dilemma that isn't easily answered. Oscar needs to develop into the kind of player di Maria was at Madrid; dynamic central midfielder whose style of play was the perfect platform to support Modric (Fabregas) or Ronaldo (Hazard) to takr their game up a notch.
July 17, 201511 yr "This is the first time I have started pre-season and for me this is very, very important," he told the club's official website on Friday. "It is important to stay with the family and friends and the full holiday for me this time is very important because for five years I didn’t have that holiday, and in the last three years I played more than 200 games and this is a lot." Blues boss Jose Mourinho said in May he believed a break away from international commitments this summer could see Oscar reach the heights that Eden Hazard achieved last season. "Now, because he’s injured he’s not going to the Copa America and I have a feeling that next year Oscar can have the same kind of evolution as [Eden] Hazard had this season," the Portuguese tactician said. Oscar agrees with his coach, and the midfielder revealed he was aiming to score more goals next term in the hope of helping Chelsea clinch more silverware. "I think the same [as Mourinho]," the Brazil international said. "I want to play better and I want to score more goals and to play my best football, because I know my quality and I know for sure I can make this season better than last season, and last season was a good season because we were champions and won two competitions. "I want to be champion in more competitions this season."

I don't really understand this "Oscar has more experience" or has "accomplished more" nonsense. True, but it felt like you were writing Oscar off as having none. Sorry if I misinterpreted.
July 17, 201511 yr I think with Oscar's rest this summer, he won't have that fade towards the end of the campaign. For the WC last year in Germany's demolition of Brazil, Oscar was the only one doing anything positive for that team.
July 18, 201511 yr True, but it felt like you were writing Oscar off as having none. Sorry if I misinterpreted. No worries mate, here's hoping a full pre-season rewards us with a fresh, durable Oscar.
July 18, 201511 yr I thought joss stone was a singer? Not sure if is good enough in the tackle to replace jt. Very vocal though!

August 2, 201510 yr looked great off the bench. something different about him when he was on the ball - looked refreshed and was skinning players left and right. really excited to see him play this season, has no excuse now since he had a nice break
August 3, 201510 yr looked great off the bench. something different about him when he was on the ball - looked refreshed and was skinning players left and right. really excited to see him play this season, has no excuse now since he had a nice break Yap, this. He's never going to be Hazard in terms of going round players for fun and burning away from them but when on form he's great at making room for him self. I was a bit supprised not to see him start. It's no secrete I'm not the biggest fan of ramires. I'm also one of those that likes to see fabregas play a little deaper as when he plays the 10 role by the time we get him in the game the defense is packed out.
August 3, 201510 yr Seemed to easily cut inside off the left every time he got the ball, and is clearly the best free kick taker in the squad. Awful shot though when he did get into a decent position.
August 9, 201510 yr Strange goal celebration, didn't seem botheredYeah I noticed that, I wonder what that was all about? He was top notch before coming off yesterday, it was a poor decision by Jose to take him off IMO
August 9, 201510 yr Strange goal celebration, didn't seem bothered Because it was more of a fluke that everyone missed, he dosent have the most exuberant celebration anyway.
August 9, 201510 yr Yeah I noticed that, I wonder what that was all about? He was top notch before coming off yesterday, it was a poor decision by Jose to take him off IMO I agree he shouldn't have come off but who else would you have taken off? Would never take Hazard off, Fabregas has that moment of magic in his locker. Possibly Willian but he is better at playing wider than Oscar is. Shame he went off though as he was looking sharp and beating people quite easily.
