Oscar - Little Diamond

Featured Replies

Should try him in Fabregas position or in a 3 man midfield but if not just sell him. Guy is nowhere near creative enough to be a number 10 and to think some people had a go at me when i said KDB sh*ts on Oscar. This guy has been here 4 seasons and hasn't improved one little bit.

He could potentially be good, in a kind of Lampard box-to-box, long range shooting kind of role.

But Jose would prefer Fabregas there.

I think Oscar is better defensively than Fabregas though, definitely better stamina, work rate and tackling. Oscar is rubbish in tight spaces to be creative in a number 10 postion.

Same problem like in the last seasons, starting the season as one of the best players in the team and with the time lowering his level, losing his form and can't affect in the game. I still prefer him over Fabregas because Oscar offers more defensive football, better work rate.

Played better last night, but unless he performs at this level consistently for months, I won't change my mind that we should sell...we have seen him turn it on in the odd game before, but that's not good enough for Chelsea

Have thought for the last few seasons we our best football when Oscar's on form.

Looked properly fired up against Porto, hounded their defence all night and always looked to move the ball forward rapidly. We're just slicker with him playing well.

Hope he can keep this going at Leicester.

I still think we should play him deeper. Move him next to Matic, put Hazard behind Costa, and have Willian and Pedro on the wings.

If we are going to continue to with this formation and these tactics, then we need legs and someone who can pass in midfield. We have that with Oscar. He doesn't have the passing ability of Fabregas, but Fabregas doesn't have the passing ability of Fabregas this season.

I'm really desperate for us to try it, i really think it would pay off.

when Oscar plays for the Seleção Brasileira de Futebol, this is the position he plays. I believe it will work. or we can keep the formation we played the other day vs Porto & have Ray Mears play in the middle. I know, I know, it only works some of the time.

He doesn't play in a 2 man midfield for brazil. He plays attacking midfield, or out wide. Pretty much the same position he plays for us.

Ive been asking for this for ages even in Oscar first season with us, have no idea why he hasn't been tried there. Not only do i reckon he would be good there but we wouldn't have to buy Fabregas and sell Mata or KDB.

On his day, very difficult to play against. He is a nasty boy, aggressive, but not Costa like.

His reading of the opponent without the ball is one of the best in the game, imo.
I really appreciated his forward passes, most them very timed perfectly.
Futhermore he can shoot and his interplays with Hazard and others are just insane.

I had my ups and downs with him, but after the last game i'm really hopeful (again), hope he's allowed to stay in the team.

He's only 24 years of age, everything is still possible.

It's always the same with Oscar. Now and again he has a superb game and because we all like the hard-working, humble person that he is we say 'alright let's give him another few months to prove himself, he needs consistency'. The thing is he never does. Never. It's been going on like this for years. One superb performance followed by wide acclaim followed by a long array of poor performances which eventually lead to heavy criticism - only to save himself in the last moment with another brilliant display.

It's too much of an up-and-down with him, only that the down periods are a lot longer. Too long. I think we should sell him if we can get a good replacement. Juve were interested so there might be a way of getting Pogba.

as I was saying...Leicester was the norm, Porto the exception

Honestly cannot remember him being on the field or making a single key meaningful contribution last night. Just not good enough. You cannot switch off like that.

In the past we'd get at least a good first half of the season from him before a massive mid-season drop off. Now he's just started badly and more or less continued that way.

He's been given a fair crack of the whip. Presumably on the basis of his youthful promise. But he's not progressed to anything like the expectations we all had of him. Maybe he'd flourish in a different league, played at a different tempo. He might even be very good in Italy. But he doesn't look cut out for the Premier league to me and I'd be very surprised if he makes it through another transfer window.

Tired og hearing how hard he works defensively. Its not anymore then most attacking midfielders playing in similar schemes. Every time he makes a tackle peolle act like hes Makelele out there and theres no way he contribute when we ate on the ball because the poor lad is exhausted from all his defensive responsibilities.
