Oscar - Little Diamond

I don't know why you'd sell a player you deem to be inconsistent in terms of their impact on games and then sign Coutinho?

Yeah I wouldbt want Coutinho, should aim higher then that imo. Would be like replacing Ramires with Paulinho

I'm still torn with Oscar, I thought he had more to offer and this would be a good season for him but it's not quite happening, I was pleased with his performance against Porto and hoped he'd get the start against Leicester but he dropped off again, I do think Leicester set up well and strangled our attacking  midfield which made it difficult so maybe he will carry on as he did against Porto next time he plays but for the ability he looks to have, he has been a let down.

I'd still have him in the side ahead of Cesc at the moment but he needs to take his chances and perform like he did in the Porto game every game.

I can't even remember one single game where he won it for us with a nice assist or a goal in a tight match.

Not the biggest Oscar fan, admittedly, but I do recall him coming up with some important goals, to be fair. Someone with a clearer head can cite the specific instances, I hope.

Hes a Mourhino type of player, never lets you down off the play, either presses high or defences space well well but his productivity as a Number 10 is average .

Big fan of Oscar but something has got to change.

If Juventus are in fact interested let Oscar go and use it as a platform for rebuilding. Either by moving Willian or Hazard to the #10 role or buying another striker to change the system to play two up top.

I personally think the whole of our attack looks stale.

Arent we better of with Ramires and Oscar instead of Matic or Fabergas ?

I don't believe Ramires & Oscar would work in front of our already fragile defence, Oscar will be new to the role and Ramires cannot be trusted positionally to cover any of the back four. Oscar would hypothetically be a better match alongside Matic as he has the work rate, Mobility & Industry which Matic seems to be lacking.

Fabregas has been incredibly poor this season however he is the only person in our team who has the vision to open up defences just like he set up Costa against Leicester. The difference was night & day against Leicester we struggled to get in behind Leicester all game until Fabregas came on. I really think we should lift the defensive duties off Fabregas and allow him to play further up the park to create more openings.

The game plan against us is very simple for teams-They allow our wingers to have the ball and back themselves to deal with anything played into the box as Willian, Pedro & Hazard are not really going to hurt them in the air. Teams congest the central areas and no one in our team seems to have the ability to play any balls behind the defence with the exception of Fabregas who sadly is playing incredibly poorly & Costa seems to be lacking in his finishing. I say play Fabregas further up the pitch and play Remy to give teams something to think about.

Oscars biggest fan here........he started the season unhappy against Norwich when he got subbed and has been sulking ever since. Very disappointed in him, not just him tbh but come on, he has been Brazil's heartbeat for couple seasons, now look at him.

Come on oscar

I thought the first game of the season he was the best player on the field ( scored a goal too) until the GK got sent off, then he went off through no fault of his own. The injury afterwards didn't help either. His problem started long ago when Jose dropped him in the second half of last season, we were playing 1:0 game week in week out, usually find Cesc in the number 10 role and Matic/Mikel playing deep. I'm happy to let him go when a good offer comes in.

Its either you meant Swansea or thought season started in November...

The problem with Matic, Ramires and Fabergas is that they can not protect any of our back line. That is how poor they are. Choosing between Matic and Ramires is a crap shoot - each man is less sh*tty on their day.

Fabaergas - The problem with playing him up front is this - HE needs space to operate, otherwise he is not so effective. HE lacks pace, his reaction time to get rid of the ball when under pressure is less, he is not physical enough to hold up against some one. We did do much better after Fabergas came in - but by then Leicester had a 2 goal lead and were more keen on protecting their lead. They did not come out to attack like they did the first half and allowed Fabergas to have time on the ball  - hence he was more effective.

I like your idea of giving Remy more playing time - He has been effective scoring goals consistently for Chelsea and needs more game time. You are also right in that the opposition crowd the defense forcing us to try crosses via our wing backs - But that is a standard game plan and they did that previous years too. But the difference is that we were quick on the counter - we caught teams offguard very often. This year our conter attack is slow and not direct. We slowly move the ball forward and by the time we reach the oppositions box they already have numbers in the box.
