September 2, 20169 yr Interesting to hear him talking about the number 8 position being his original position and his favorite position, he feels he has been played out of position in his entire Chelsea career and is finally now playing in his natural position as a box to box midfielder.

I've always felt he was a box to box or cm... Anyway not a winger nor a am.
September 8, 20169 yr Oscar: Antonio Conte has changed Chelsea's mentality and we want the treble this season SIMON JOHNSON 44 minutes ago 0 comments 3 Silverware bid: Oscar has set his sights on the treble Getty Images Oscar admits he is feeling settled at Chelsea once again and has set his sights on winning the treble this term. The Brazil international had been struggling for form at Stamford Bridge for the previous 18 months and was heavily linked with a move away in the summer. Juventus and Inter Milan were both interested in buying the midfielder during the transfer window, but new coach Antonio Conte decided to keep him in the squad. Oscar has started the first three League games of the season and helped Chelsea begin the campaign with a 100 per cent record. He said: "He's (Conte) giving me a lot of confidence and I'm doing very well. Hopefully I can continue to do so. "In the last few seasons I have played as a no.10 or as a winger. Now I'm going back to my original position of No.8, attacking and defending from box to box, which is my original role and the one I like the most. "It's been a very successful time for me here at Chelsea. I won a lot in the last few seasons - the Premier League, League Cup and the Europa League. "Only last season wasn't great, not only individually, but as a team. Hopefully this season we will win trophies and get back to a winning mentality. "The objective is not only to finish in the top four, but to fight for the League, FA Cup and League Cup because we have to win trophies." Chelsea have been playing 4-2-3-1 in recent years, but Conte has changed things by opting for 4-1-4-1 and has used the bench to good effect too. Oscar has liked what he's seen from the 46-year-old so far, who left his role with Italy to take over Chelsea. Chelsea transfer timeline: Conte's frustrating search for defensive reinforcements 14show all He added: "The coach has changed the formation, we are playing a different system to last season. "His training method is different to what we had last season and he's changed both the players' mentality and the team's mentality. I think we have improved since he's come here. "I think you can see that last season we were lacking a bit of resilience. We had that spirit in some games, but we weren't consistent. "It's good to have that spirit back and we are looking to improve on that front. If we keep up this team spirit, we will be a threat in the Premier League."
September 8, 20169 yr Oscar is a little dimond indeed, glad to hear what he is thinking about Conte - that is the mentality we need! Want to suggest a site here http://ilovespamlinks.co.uk very good for all of you that bet online and looking for something really good.
September 8, 20169 yr Was he in the Brazil squad during this international break? Past experience says he will be fatigued and have a crap game if he went

September 14, 20169 yr Started the season well and deserves to be in the side so far imo. Early days though, I wouldn't expect his critics to be won over at this point...
September 14, 20169 yr Oscar has been good so far this season. His goal contributions aren't there, but that's not really why he's in the team. He breaks up oppo play frequently, has been tricky, and has a good motor. He's fairly calm on the ball and isn't afraid to take risks. Along with goals, he is lacking that key pass. He's not a Fabregas who can unlock the defense with a distance pass or exceptional vision. He does have better vision than Matic and Kante though, which makes him fairly valuable. He's playing in his natural ability and has actually been pretty consistently good. Although, we are only 4 games into the season.

Oscar is a good passer of the ball but his ability to unlock a defense with a key pass is lacking. Great pass this past Sunday, and the first touch to bring it under control is underrated.

September 15, 20169 yr I'd say he is the least impactful player of our 6 midfield/attacking players, he's not playing badly but when he picks up the ball it doesn't exactly fill me with the expectation that something impressive is about to happen. But I also don't see Pedro or Moses having any greater impact so for the forseeable future he may as well start ahead of them. I suppose you could say he is the Cahill of our attack. Unspectacular, usually not too bad, and good enough to play so long as we have no-one better. Must say i'd like to see Fabregas get a shot playing there though. Edited September 15, 20169 yr by Jonty
September 15, 20169 yr That's a pretty accurate wrap up on Oscar. Sure he will run the whole 10 miles , pass 80%, get his usually 6/10 rating, but who really believe he could be a match winner this weekend, or any weekend for that matter? In the current starting 11, Hazard is the focus of the creativity, Willian seemed to back to his 2014 standard. Costa is the only goal threat, unless we play 442 for 15 minutes a game. The fullbacks are't adding much in the attack. I feel like we need something extra to beat better teams, or beat lesser teams on a bad day.
September 15, 20169 yr Been his critic for awhile now, all potential but still living off that Juventus game. He had his games were he was outstanding, however consistency isn't his best quality. Under Conte he is a reborn player, is it the new position? Or our new formation? i don't know but i am well pleased with his efforts this season long may it continue.

September 16, 20169 yr Whether he plays deep or further forward, he needs to be contributing to the goals. Hazard and Costa are the only two real goalscorers in the xi that Conte favours. Oscar has to be another major goalscorer. Will him playing deep allow him to just get away with midfield scrapping, filling holes, a lot of energy and a few good passes here and there? Hazard and Costa are the only two real goalscorers in the xi that Conte favours. What do you deem a good return goals wise? If he gets 10 this season I think he'll have done well. Oscar's directly contributed to something like 78 goals (scored and assisted) since joining Chelsea, it's a respectable return. I think he's showing enough so far to suggest he'll chip in with his fair share of goals/assists in this system.
September 16, 20169 yr 10 would be a good return. He had 12 in his first season in (64 games) and 11 the next. 7 in the title win and 8 (surprisingly) last season - but I think 5 of those were scored between that garbage Israeli side and lower league teams in the FA Cup. Am I being harsh, I don't know... He seems to score a brace in one game and go ages without scoring then gets a couple again against poor opposition and the figures look alright. He has been playing as one of the three attacking players in a 4-2-3-1, so you would expect him to score a few. Edited September 16, 20169 yr by Kante Conte
September 16, 20169 yr HAHHAHA. Are we finally done with this fraud or do we need 4 more years. I mean WTF... one of the most useless, average footballers I have seen play for this club.
