Would swap Essien and Makelele, but otherwise spot on. Wonder where Mata/Hazard/Oscar/Ramires will end up on the list by the end of their careers.

To be fair, we've had some pretty decent midfielders in the past decade.

Depends if you're taking about talent or accomplishments, i'd say Hazard, Mata and Oscar have more talent than any other Cheslea midfielder's we've ever seen, perhaps with the exception of Maka.

I've no doubt Hazard and Oscar will be up there given time.

Lamps first but then in no particular order Makelele, Essien, Mata, Cole...... Mikel just barely misses out.

 

 

I don't mention Robben because I think that we've had so few top notch strikers/wingers pan out under Roman that they'd make a better combo to rate.

Difficult, especially as I had to leave out one of my favourites - Duffa! But I enjoy/enjoyed watching all of the above play more than any other.

 Wonder where Mata/Hazard/Oscar/Ramires will end up on the list by the end of their careers.

I don't think you could separate or compare them. I don't think Ramires would ever get near the top 5 though. He's just not comparable with regards Essien or Ballack.
