September 3, 201510 yr I see where you're coming from but you have to take on board the fact the stadium is asymmetrical not through choice but through necessity if we want to maximise capacity. An asymmetrical roof I imagine either wouldn't protect everybody from the elements or if it did, there would be an issue with shadows on the pitch or the pitch seeing enough sunshine and the grass growing. Well said on all counts. Though I continue to argue that case that the stadium is very nearly symmetrical if you bisect the stadium across the halfway line. It's what they call bilateral symmetry.

September 3, 201510 yr of course the club badge is round so i can envisage a massive lion rampant on the pitch viewed from above replicating the club crest - that'd be cool
September 3, 201510 yr Anyone got any info on how the expect to drain the roof structure? That is potentially a lot of water draining off onto the sidelines since it slopes downward and in
September 3, 201510 yr From Hammersmith and Fulham Council Website. Not sure if already posted on here. http://public-access.lbhf.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=NSI78NBI0IE00 There are three documents linked to the page.
September 4, 201510 yr Here we see how much bigger the new stadium will be than the current one. The current stands are in black, the extra footprint of the new stands is in blue, so we can see they all take up more land than the current ones (apart from maybe the West), the red is those parts of the stadium or village whose footprint isn't covered by the new stands, and the green is the remainder of the new stadium which will be taking up land which currently has nothing on it. We can see that the new stadium would completely cover the footprint of the current stadium and complex, and then take up a lot more land besides. We can also see that the North and South stands will see the biggest increases in capacity, for not only will they take up more land but they will also be significantly higher than they are now. The North Stand will be a higher construct and the South Stand will be the same height as the apartments and hotels behind the current South Stand, therefore the stand itself will be considerably higher. I believe the South Stand will more or less double in capacity to around 12k. The East and West Stands will be more or less the same height as they are now, with the East seeing an increase in capacity and the West more or less staying the same. This is my understanding. We have to also factor in the fact the pitch will be 4 metres lower than it is now, I believe. The bits in yellow that you see on the top and bottom right are separate buildings to the rest of the complex. They are the leisure complex behind the North Stand and the hotels in the main entrance as you walk in on your right. They will all be demolished. Edited September 4, 201510 yr by Davey Baby
September 4, 201510 yr Jesus Davey that's impressive, its almost like being there. 7 years training mate.
September 4, 201510 yr The five year wait will be torture... I must have gone through the pictures posted by the WAGNH guy 50 times by now (http://imgur.com/a/FgTQq) I hope the club will release the high res versions displayed at the exhibition at some point so everyone who couldn't go can see them in full glory.

September 4, 201510 yr If anybody would like to get me a colouring-in book for Christmas, feel free. Are you a proper architect and everything, it looks like it. Can you do me a house shaped like a penguin eating a pizza?
September 4, 201510 yr Can't be better than mine, surely. Yours is actually quite useful, did you use Google Maps?
September 4, 201510 yr Not sure if it's been asked but any word on whether the original wall of the Shed will stay? Can understand if it needs to be knocked down but would be great if it could remain where as it is.

Can understand if it needs to be knocked down but would be great if it could remain where as it is. It definitely will. It's even there in the artist's impressions. . September 4, 201510 yr But the actual opening of the roof is rectangular. The circle just (beautifully, in my view) encloses it. And the consultants were very clear that each of the stands would have their own character. If we're going to get a 60,000 stadium the of course the corners will have to be filled in but that doesn't mean it will just be a generic bowl. Just look at the aerial shot from above. It's anything but 'just another bowl'. Anything but 'just another stadium' what's that blue vortex to the right of the stadium? is that where we throw the media members and supporters whom speak ill of us?
