Robben to be Made Available

Featured Replies

Personally i'd rather pick up someone younger and less prone to choking, however if we can get him on the cheap then it would be a good deal.

Makes you wonder about the future of KDB and the Schurrle deal though.

He's only 29?

His paper round when he was a kid must have been all up hill because he looks atleast 50. I dont think there's a chance of Robben coming back to us though, didnt he get out rather sharpish when he left last time?

I think us picking up robben would be good business. think were in danger of flooding our squad with too much 'potential'.

united signed rvp and hes been fantastic for them. robben knows the premier league, and would hit the ground running. yes he picks up niggles but he still gets through 30-40 games a season.

At 28 he still has 4 years at the top left.

We don't need Robben so what's the point in going in for him if he becomes available. I would like us to concentrate on the strikers and midfield where I feel this season it has cost us points. Whether that means just recalling players like Lukaku and KDB or buying additional players like Falcoa and Fellani or both....oh and of course we need a decent manager!

If we could get him for a decent price: 15-20 million, then i'd be more than happy to have him back. He's still one of the best wingers in the world and is really exciting to watch. The only problem I have is his massive ego, though i'm sure it would be soothed given that he would definitely be in our strongest starting lineup. Hazard on the left and Robben on the seems like a good combo, lots of speed on the break

I don't want Robben back, he was injured half the time and I'll never forgive him for his anti-performance at Anfield, sulking because he said he wasn't fit enough to play. Great player when he wants to be, but that's not very often.

He was great for us and is still a good player but we have Hazard and Mata now. No real need for him to come back.

I would guess he will go back to Holland or on a big money deal to the US or some where like that.

Great player but I wouldn't want him back.

At 29 he's quality is only going to decline as a winger and he is going to want regular first team football which is something I don't think we can promise him.

No, no and no again. Apparently he wasn't garuanteed a regular starting spot at Bayern this season until Kroos was injured. OK he played well last week when Munich were hammering Barca but we all know from past experience that when the going gets tough and the blood and snot is flying, he can be a bit of a dutch surrender monkey.

All in all, a poor man's version of Gareth Bale.

Oh, and we have Hazard who is miles better.

And Kevin de Bruyne, and not forgetting Thorgan Hazard (great name that)

Obviously it depends who the manager is and what formation we play next season........

If he is actually available (the evidence is predictably thin) we should jump on the opportunity. Robben would undoubtedly improve our squad.

Moses doesn't look like he is ready to be in the first XI yet, there is talk of Marin leaving, and with Robben at 29 (especially considering pace is one of his main assets) we know this won't be a long-term deal, so we don't have to worry too much about denying opportunities to young players. For a couple of seasons we would have a world-class winger, and in my opinion a perfect addition to an already-outrageous attack. Judging by his current standard with Bayern (he might come back to the Bridge a European Champion) he hasn't lost it in his absence; he is a matchwinner, he could conceivably win five games a season on his own, which fits in nicely with the other two matchwinners we have in our attacking three. Hazard-Mata-Robben (with Oscar and Moses as cover!) is a frightening prospect to behold. A potential reunion with José (pie in the sky but still) evokes memories of the 2004/05 team which in my eyes is hardly a bad thing. The only negative I can think of is wages, but there are far less useful players in the squad I would happily cull to pay for Robben.

That would indeed be a potentially frightening prospect, and a left footed wide man would add great variety to our attack, but I would rather see us buy a midfielder and perhaps a CB before looking into the band of three.
