Amorebieta is the only one I'm bummed out about so far, he would start for us imo. Although if our youngsters perform then even that isn't a that much of a big deal. 

 

Maybe Moutinho too but I'm more than happy with Ginkel, which says a lot cause I rate Moutinho very highly. 

He signed an extension last year, but I'm always annoyed we didn't sign Mats Hummels. 6'4" beast of a defender at Dortmund. 

I absolutely, absolutely believe that we need a central defender and a central forward this season. I am NOT willing to gamble an entire season on the untested shoulders of Lukaku and will NOT buy the logic that Mourinho can bring the best out of Torres. The problem is there aren't too many options out there. It would be terrible to miss out by a point or two at the end of the season, for it is going to be incredibly tight come season-end. 

The Luis Suarez saga to Madrid will ramble on for at least a few more weeks it seems. I am hoping that ends soon. A clearer picture will emerge then. 

imo aubameyang would have been a steal and could have played the right side role with ease.

 

thiago as in alcantara? didn´t he say he only wanted to join bayern? that means that one would have been hard.

 

other than that, i think benat would have been a good addition to the squad, he would have been great at the dm spot alongside either ramires or lampard imo.

 

götze for that price would have been a good deal aswell, although we got lots of players in that area already.

 

dede would have been good if kalas was going out on loan, but since he is staying i dont think another centerback is needed.

I think it is tough to say, just because we didn't sign them doesn't necessarily mean we missed out if we weren't in for them in the first place.

 

Who knows, we may still sign someone, obviously not any of the BIG 3 that were available.  But for now I just think it's a tad early to lament on who we've "missed out on"

Isco even though we didn't need him i would of still loved him here,classy player.Still like Capoue too.

A few good players there that could've added something, but it's not as simple as transfer fees.. wages, language barriers, first-team guarantees, international ambitions, moving to a different country...

 

You can pretty much guarantee ever player listed there has been considered by the club, and ultimately ruled out one way or another.

Falcao. And off the list, probably Kovacic who signed for Inter in January. I'm only basing this on his game against Spurs and youtube clips, of course.

Cavani is untested in our league, yet Lukaku is. People want to bring in these players, when we have a very good younger striker already.

He may be untested in the PL, but he's in sublime form and has been consistently performing season after season both domestically and internationally. Not all signings can be as deceiving as Svevchenko's. :)

 

Lukaku is a fine prospect, I fully agree. But to rest our entire season (and we will be fighting on at least three fronts) on the shoulders of one young lad is a little too risky. Cavani could have been just that. 

Wouldn't have minded David Villa for 5 million...

If we end up not signing a striker this summer then I agree, Villa would have been a good short term signing for us whilst Lukaku continues his development.
