Cesc Fabregas

Featured Replies

I'd be ecstatic if he signs for us. He will improve our team significantly. I dun't care if he's a c**t or not, Eto'o said he would sell penuts than joining a pathetic club like Chelsea and after many years he joined for us.

Cannot say I believe that Arsenal would turn him down, nor that United would not be interested giving they are crying out for midfield reinforcement.

Do Arsenal need him? They've got Ramsay, Wilshere and Ozil in the middle for them. Their priority is going to be a right back and striker I would have thought.

United do need a midfielder but Van Gaal already turned down the chance of pursuing Kroos so what's to say he's not interested Fabregas? Rumour is he wants Kevin Strootman.

There's just no way this will happen in my view.

Fabregas would go to Arsenal or Utd over us, I firmly believe it. We absolutely do not play the type of football that he would like to play, and he has an attachment to Arsenal as it is.

1. He has not agreed anything with Chelsea. His agent did not meet Wenger lately (havent spoken for a month)

2. Barcelona have told Cesc he has to find a team. They want the money to buy Koke. Cost: 35m euros

3. Arsenal dont want Cesc back and he has been told that already by Arsenal

4. He is being pushed out by Barcelona but will take his time to find the right club for him

Not sure he would join us but I do think he has the potential to be a good partner to Matic.

If he does leave Barca I would think Arsenal and United are ahead of us in the queue to sign him.

I really don't see how he'd be a good partner to Matic, he's not a defensive or central midfield player he's an attacking midfielder.

I think it's between us and united. Arsenal and city aren't interested according to sky.

Would be a great signing in my opinion and the perfect replacement for lampard. He really doesn't suit barca's style of football and you can tell he is frustrated. Let's sign him up !

I always had fabregas down as a box to box midfielder in his arsenal days when he was at his best. Barca have tried to turn him into the new xavi and it hasn't worked. He suits the premier league perfectly and would be a great partner for matic in my opinion

He is a very good player but no chance he ends up at Chelsea under Jose. Saying that with his wage demands and transfer fee he does not have many clubs to go despite his quality a bit like Mata. Wenger proably has first refusal at a certain price but is proably trying to pay half the fee.

Id love to know where Balague gets his info. Seems to be too in the know, no journalist is ever that clue'd in in English football.

As all with all La Masia midfielders he is schooled at playing in pretty much all the midfield positions. I can see him being more than capable of being the middle of our attacking 3, giving competition to Oscar, being the Pivot partner to Matic (where Id prefer him), playing in Xavi's natural role and being the the furthest foward in a 3 man 4-3-3 midfield. He offers a great deal and is nigh on world class in there. Certainly a better option than virtually anyone I can think of bar maybe Pogba

Matic, Fabregas

Shurrle, Oscar, Hazard.

Costa.

I so would, He wont though. ill eat my shorts if he actually volunteers to come play for us

Sky sources understand that Manchester City have no interest in signing Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona.

The midfielder has been told he does not figure in Barcelona's plans and is available for transfer - they want to replace him with Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke.

Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs thought to be interested but City have other targets with defensive players a priority.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague told Sky Sport News that Barca are keen to offload Fabregas - but that he will not be returning to Arsenal.

"They have told Fabregas to look for a team - but Arsenal are not interested," he said.

"Barca want at least 35m euros - he cost 40m - I think (Barca coach) Luis Enrique has concluded the way he played at Arsenal, he cannot play like that at Barca because it's a more tactically disciplined team.

"Fabregas came to Barcelona and expected something else but what he saw was fans who weren't all happy that he'd cost 40m euros having been developed at La Masia (Barcelona's academy).

"But his stats were really good - he just didn't have the unanimous love of the fans.

"There was a story in one of the Catalan papers on Monday afternoon saying that Chelsea and him have agreed to a deal - that's not true - not yet anyway - but Chelsea are a team would suit him, as would Manchester United.

It is understood that Fabregas has a £30million release clause written into the five-year contract he signed in 2011, describing the move at the time as the "greatest challenge of his life".

He makes things up.

He makes things up.

From memory he was spot on about Torres from day one... but I can't comment on his overall record as I don't know any other story he's 'broke' that has or hasn't happened.

It's like everyone says with these journalists though, with every 1 they get right, they get another 50 wrong.

Hes more accurate and seems (seems) to have alot more detailed inside knowledge than British tabloids. Id certainly trust alot of his stories over pretty much any British Journalist

Balague is a blagger a very good one he wrote Guadiolas book and when he is interviwed implies that he knows his inner thoughts etc was always on the radio and Sky talking about him to us and City.

Paul Manson @PMansonAFC  ·  2h

Balague: "Pep hasn't made a decision about management.." 24 hours later...Bayern appoint Pep. Hahaha

He is very clued up at assesing the options but most of his comments are just his own thoughts rather than inside information. He is a bit of a media whore like that Tancredi they know how to get bookings to Sky, Talksport etc.

People assume that because he is Spanish he knows about everything Spain related but he was saying Mata and Cazorla were not in the SPain 23. He is the Spanish Neil Ashton has snippets of info fed by agents and spins it to his own agenda.

I reckon he would be a good partner for Matic, my only concern is that they might lack pace but we can always throw Ramires in there and play 433 when needed. When you get a chance to sign a player like Fabregas you don't turn it down, especially with us needing a CM.

£30m, world class player, homegrown, release clause. I hope that if we are interested then we move on him fast.i don't see too many other options available - particularly ones that are homegrown.

Maybe Lampard going is sign that the board are trying to push this through. We can't go into the season with just Rammy, MVG and Matic.

The fact that he is homegrown makes him even more attractive to us considering Lampard and Cole have gone and doesn't look like we will get Shaw.
