December 5, 20169 yr Willian's first touch for that goal was perfect. He had little margin for error. Too soft and he would've had to of taken another one, too hard and he would've put himself on a very difficult angle. The finish was brilliant as well. Great team goal that destroyed City's confidence.
December 15, 20169 yr Was a bit disappointed in Willians performance last night. I was hoping he'd be raring to go to earn his spot back but again he seemed more interested in slowing play down and playing square balls instead of taking his man on and driving into the box. He had a couple of shots late on but that was about it. I don't think he will be getting his place back anytime soon if he doesn't start to up the quality in the final third...which has always been his downfall IMO.
December 15, 20169 yr Willians final ball has always been inconsistent, even last season he wasnt that effective, and i think his free kicks, and the poor form of others, masked faults in his own game. The most irritating thing fir more is when he gets 1 on 1 with a player, he usually stops, does a shimy and lays the ball off. He needs to ahow a truck or 2 and actually try beat players. So close to being a top player, just isnt incisive enough for me.

That's just who he is as a player, I don't think he'll ever have that sense of urgency or aggression about him. Even for our goal, he receives the ball in a good area with space to drive into the area but his instinct is to go sideways.

Just so frustrating to watch because I have seen him drive past players and leave them for dead yet 9/10 times he just stops and passes a square or backwards ball. At least with Perdo he will look to run his man albeit not always getting the better of them but he at least tries it. If Hazard was out for a substantial period of time or even Pedro now I'd not be confident that Willian could chip in like they have done.
December 15, 20169 yr Brazilian Jesse Lingard. £100m offer from China for another Brazilian would do nicely please.
December 15, 20169 yr Same old, same old with Willian. He's consistently solid but for all of his industry he lacks the incision necessary to be a world-class player. He is quick and for mine his technique and dribbling ability are not far behind Hazard's, but his finishing has always been inconsistent (spectacular long shots mixed with frustrating close-range misses) and he's never been one to pierce a parked bus with a killer ball. He also lacks the skillful movement of Pedro and Hazard. These issues essentially relegate him to backup or sub status, except when we're playing against sides whom we want to counterattack right from the outset (e.g - Arsenal).

Willian has actually scored more or the same amount of league goals as any United player except Zlatan this season. And thats with very limited playing time. I think he's been good this season, although he was wasteful yesterday.

He's been a bit part player this season (for sad reasons albeit) and doesn't seem to really offer much going forward like our other options.

December 15, 20169 yr Still, its harsh. Willian is clearly miles better then the likes of Lingard. He's only played 670 minutes and already scored important goals and nice little assist for Cesc yesterday.
December 15, 20169 yr End product is awful, in some games you just need a piece of magic from somewhere to win the tough games. With Willian your hoping just for a shot on target let alone anything else. Hopefully the Oscar deal goes through and we can get some better quality in.

Lingard a goal every 0.11 games, Willian a goal every 0.13 games. Not exactly miles better in terms of scoring. Both only have one assist this season etc. I think it was a fair comparison.

December 16, 20169 yr Willian was by far the best player in a mid-table side last season. Lingard isn't even getting starts for a mid-table side... Edited December 16, 20169 yr by PloKoon13

To be fair the original comment comparing him to Jesse was a bit tongue in cheek and meant to be taken more of a joke. That being said though if a huge offer from China or elsewhere came in i personally would accept it.

I don't have any player at this club that "I can't stand" That's bizarre to me, we are supporters...we support our players Pedro isn't a Cuadrado who offered very little to the club in his brief time here...he has been here for a bit now and has helped up to the top of the table...I don't get why someone couldn't stand him.
