August 24, 20178 yr I read that Willian likes the theatre life in London so I don't think he would go to Manchester, I can't speak for the theatre life in Barcelona though. I wouldn't let him go without a replacement although often does not stand out there are certain periods when he is clearly our best player. Now these times just might be when our better players are missing or there is strife within the dressing room or it is just as simple as the managers instructions yet don't sell until we have a good replacement.
August 24, 20178 yr I can't see anyone we could bring in that would be an improvement on him, who we could realistically bring in. Sanchez is but it will be almost impossible to pick him up. Dybala and Greizman probably also fall into this bracket. Di maria is probably on a similar level but a very different style of player and is probably less suited to our formation choices and potentially isn't even suited to the BPL. There is a bunch the level below, Mahrez, Draxler, Balde, Lucas, Anderson and Ox. And then a few with the potential to be an improvement that might be obtainable at a sizeable fee, Dembele, Pulisic, Martial and potentially Carassco. I'm sure some others can add a few more to this list. Maybe Sane given City's attacking riches. But lets face it it, this late in the window in an area Barce are struggling to bring in quality, I imagine we will be looking at the players a level below.
August 24, 20178 yr I like Willian a lot, but I wouldn't be altogether opposed to selling him.... But not at this stage of the window. I feel like there are certainly players better, and/or younger than him...but chances of getting them in at this stage of the window, when we're already struggling to close deals for other players is slim to none. I also have no issues whatsoever if he stays. I certainly wouldn't push him out the door. He's not the most creative player, but he is very industrious, and always gives everything for the club. Nice free kicks too.
August 24, 20178 yr Sell next summer not now. Don't think we could upgrade sufficiently enough on him yet. Not the worst option off the bench.
August 24, 20178 yr Seems like they are close to Dembele. So I imagine this won't happen if they sign him.

If we do sell, and I hope we don't, Balde for me would be the best replacement out of those I've listed, but I'd much rather push the boat out for Pulisic than get Draxler I personally think he is bang average.

Di Maria is on a much higher level than Willian. Willian lacks any creativity and is so inconsistent, his basically our version of the Ox. Every team needs a runner and his ours. Mahrez or Draxler are no way a level below. I would even take Robben or Ribery for a season over Willian, they would both be much more dangerous players. In the most important games you only get one chance at goal or for that important pass, I can safely say the majority of the time Willian won't get it right.

He is a lot better than Ox.

Pedro is alot better in my eyes and if Chelsea was looking at a top class winger he would need to be better than him. Last game just showed that with getting an assist straight away. Get a crazy offer for a squad player you have to sell. Buy the Ox for less and you get the same player.
August 25, 20178 yr Willian is clearly one of our better players. We can't afford to lose him. He is a big reason we have possesson stats in our side at games he play. Possession is not everything but sometimes it is useful.

August 31, 20178 yr Wouldn't be shocked if he followed Matic before the end of today...... He is already 3rd choice for 2 positions behind Hazard and Pedro. If Mahrez arrives he'll be 4th choice.
September 5, 20178 yr William just scored a great goal for Brazil http://makeagif.com/i/w0RMfY Edited September 5, 20178 yr by charierre
September 13, 20178 yr Willian completed 7 take-ons against Qarabag. No player in the Champions League completed more dribbles than him tonight.

September 13, 20178 yr I really hate reading through the comments on this thread and looking at how lowly rated Willian is, I would rate him above Pedro and say he's our 2nd best-attacking player under Hazard. Of course, you're all entitled to your opinions, I just think it's strange, has nobody watched him for the last two seasons?

It's the only thing stopping him from being a WC player and is the reason why he can be so frustrating at times. He'd dribble through 2-3 players only to put the ball in the stands.
