Willian

You could of made 10 videos, one for each outfield player, and they would all look like citehs '12th man'.

I'm normally quite a fan of Willian, ball retention being one of his strengths. This season though I'm finding it hard to defend him, sloppy passing when in good possession being in particular weakness at present. Personally I'd have hooked him Saturday, that though would have drawn even more attention to Conte's initial poor substitution.

i agree. i find an awful lot of foreign fans who are new to the game or glory hunters are the ones who are the c**ts. they expect us to win, win, win all the time.

It's mostly 12 year olds on twitter that know how to edit videos.

Exactly me here, I'm a big fan of him and I still think people are being too harsh on wanting him sold, give him more time. I disagree that Willian has been bad for the past two seasons like many people claim, he's been one of our top squad players, but this season he has had one good game and that's it. But remember we've only played 10 games so far including all comps, still plenty of time.

I think we all need to calm down a bit here, we have a defeat and Willian needs lined up and shot.

He has been great for us over the past few seasons, he was put on, incorrectly in my opinion, on Saturday after Moratas injury and he had a poor game agreed, but so did a few others so its not entirely Willian. In another game on another day, he could have had a blinder and we would be saying he is the best thing since sliced bread. Swings and roundabouts.

You can see what will happen, utd with the "bitter one" will sign him in January and everyone will go potty complaining, problem we as a club can't attract top players anymore, so the proven prem players like William we need to keep.

Why can’t we attract top players anymore?

Basically Money and there are more attractive clubs out there now, utd and city pay more money and have managers with more pulling power (not that I would swap them for Antonio), for british younger players  spurs are more attractive in the sense of game time for youngsters. If a Greizman, or levendoski became available do we honestly think they would come here instead of Manchester? Throw in real Madrid, Barca, bayern, and possibly Juve and we would possibly be 7 or 8th in the pecking order at present. Nothing wrong being behind those clubs but just a reality check for people who  want to bin a player like Willian, who else we gonna get whose any better?

They probably check out these fan forums.

Quite right, Willian may not be playing well at present but over the last 3 or 4 years he has done well for us and deserves more loyalty, I wonder sometimes if club legends like Kerry Dixon (if he didn't score for 3 or 4 games) or Zola would be slagged off if social media was around when they played?..... Loyalty of our own players who wear our clubs shirt is very fickle with some fans these days, especially when behind a keyboard, sign of the times I suppose. " He hates Tottenham, He hates Tottenham"

Willian and pedro are both good players, neither have started the season in the best form though. If we want to compete with the best, and continually go for to toe with the likes of Atlético and city, I think we need another star attacker like a greizmann or dybala, along with better wing backs.

Easier said than done in today's market though. So while Willian is here, I'm just gonna get behind him and hope he gets his groove back, because on his day, he can be very good. Probably just me, but I'd love to see him at right wing back, give him a more structured role in the team. I know there would be some worry about him defensively, but I think he could defend as well as moses.

Top of my head mahrez?
At least he f**king shoots giving us some form of a goal threat from the right rather than dicking about before passing it back 5 yards

So we gonna replace a Chelsea squad player with a Leicester squad player, mahrez on his day isn't bad, but he handed in a transfer request in the summer and no top club thought he was worth a punt, but I said, we as a club can't shop at the highest level anymore, hence why we signed Drinkwater, and couldn't close down a deal for lorente or Barkley. We still got a good side though and Willian is part of that, but I fear come the summer he will be signing for united and we may well regret it

who exactly are the top players city and utd bought over us? barring pogba, can't think of any.

Stones, walker, Mendy,  lukaku, maybe not world beaters, but decided against us for Manchester. Whether they are better than what we got is up for debate, but they did choose to go elsewhere.

Stones didn't choose City over us. We bid for him and he handed in a transfer request so he could join us, but Everton refused to sell. By the time City bid we weren't interested.

Walker? No evidence we ever bid for him.

Lukaku didn't turn us down. We refused to pay the fee.

Mendy? No idea, but it was Sandro we were after in his position.

Agree with majority of those. Lukaku, we matched the bid at the last minute but by then it was too late because United were more serious with the matter and showed they wanted him more.

We matched the bid to the club but wouldn't match the payment to his agent apparently. Even if Lukaku wanted to join us his agent would have pushed him towards Utd.

Drinkwater, Llorente & Barkley are not 'top players' though. They are squad players, who are/would be third choice in their position at our club. And they know it.

Bakayoko was our target for centre midfield and we acquired him. Drinkwater was needed for depth and we acquired him.

Llorente and Barkley chose other clubs, but I am pretty sure if they thought they would be first choice playing for us we would have easily landed them. I wanted Llorente for additional depth, but Barkley is the most overated pile of sh*t going, would never have been in our starting 11. He knew his level, and acted accordingly.

Moratta is a top player and we signed him.

I agree it is harder to land the big names now than it was 10 years ago; the Manchester clubs and PSG will all pay more than we will now, and Barca & Madrid will always attract the top name, but I wouldn't say we can't attract them.

I always think he can be a good RWB but don't forget he can also be really selfish with the ball at feet sometimes which is not a good threat for someone who should be defensive disciplined.
