Mario Balotelli

Featured Replies

Sorry to go off topic here but people are talking up Lukaku. I honestly do not think he will be a Chelsea player next season. I think he will ask to leave this summer coming.

I think it's more of a Mario wants Chelsea than Chelsea wants Mario. Jose might think he could polish him up and finally help him realise his potential. To be perfectly honest, I am not bothered about those little off field antics if he can show us some respect and perform like his life depended on it. A little misdemeanour here and there has always been part of football players.

If he is to come here it could only make sense in the summer. We would have got rid of Eto'o and Ba. And if Lukaku finally returns we have 3 top strikers of different styles. And moreover it would give Jose time to work with him and tame it a little bit. Jose may be thinking that when he needs to, he could pair Torres with either of the two. Just thinking.

The Rooney-saga will run for at least one more summer, I think, and unless United gives the boy another salary raise or wins everything with Moysey I can see Rooney force himself out. If he can stay lean (or, not fat) and motivated he would fit Mourinho's striker wish to a tea (dropping deep, linking up the play and basically just fight and work his ass off).

Balotelli is just not that, and I doubt that Mourinho would risk the team atmosphere just to give Balo chances (like Bobby Manc did).

Only if we sign a big name striker, if Jose tells him he wants him to become out 1st choice striker then he will stay but if we sign a £25m/£30m+ then I wouldn't expect him to want to stay.

I would have him in a heartbeat personally.

I think he is a fantastic talent and is possibly one is of the few top quality strikers in Europe who there could be a realistic chance of signing given Milan's woeful form.

Mino Raiola has denied that Chelsea have made any offer for the player, but indicated that Balotelli would prefer a January move

It looks like today has become Super Mario day here at WAGNH, as some quotes have appeared from the player's agent which indicate that the player wants to leave in January. From Mino Raiola:

"Mario wishes to leave Milan in January. We don’t know where he will go at the moment, we are looking at the different possibilities. Chelsea is one of the options, but there has been no offers and I cannot comment [on whether] we have been contacted."

If Mario Balotelli really wants to leave, this makes an already intriguing situation into an absolutely fascinating one. Balotelli's behavior can be absolutely maddening at times, but there is little question that he'd be an instant upgrade to the options Jose Mourinho currently has at his disposal.

Between the reports about Balotelli's availability this morning, AC Milan's surprising move to deny those reports, and these comments from the player's agent, I'd have to think there's at least enough happening that Chelsea need to be checking into the Balotelli situation. On the pitch, he's everything Mourinho has been indicating that we are missing. Considering how few of those players there are for Chelsea to target, the chance to snap up a 23-year old with this sort of ability is an opportunity we simply can't refuse.

I'm not sure, comparing him to our current striking options I'd take Mario in a heartbeat.

And end up with another sub par striker on big wages. That worked out for us before, didnt it?

Hey all new to the forum

I know our striking options at the moment are quite woeful but surely we would never consider that lunatic more hassle and crap than he will ever produce on the pitch.

Whichever striker we go for, they will be on big money, we can''t afford another flop though, that's for sure.

Is the media nuts?  Where do they get these things? :coffeespit:  Do they just make them up at random? What's next, that we're tied with Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Dear Lord help us if we are. :face_palm:

Sub-par? Really?

Thie kid's 23-years-old and if he got his attitude right has the potential to become the best striker in the world. We're not talking about a busted flush like the other three on the roster, Balotelli has a lot of room and time for improvement.

The best striker in the world my ass. The only thing he will be remembered is his off the field antics.

Hes had 2 good games in his career. Against Germany in the euros and against roma in the italian supercup, thats it.

9 goals in 20 matches for milan, with at least 3 of those being penalties. A mid table italian side is his level

hes usually in the media for trivial stuff that doesnt even deserve to be in the papers such as using a colleges toilets and buying a scaletric or something for his house instead of what his mum asked for. Not really negative feedback imo. I'd take him. He'd be a step up from the 3 we have at the moment

also his Milan stats are 21 goals in 33 games with this season being just over a goal every 2 games

Wow really, he wants to leave Milan? Was it not a "dream" of his to play for them, despite coming through at Inter. He seems to like asking to leave clubs rather quickly, how long before he would want to leave us if he joined us?

Not sure he worked back as much as Jose liked back in his Inter days. But given our striker situation, his ability would improve our forward line, his temperament would likely detract from it.

That's ridiculous, I would take Balotelli in a heartbeat, it took me a while to come around to him even though I'm Italian but I think that he would do very well in our team. The fact that he is also one of the few realistic transfer targets left for us helps too.
