Hard to know who it will be, (if anyone), but the rumour mill has it all around Diego Costa, am neither happy nor upset with that given I have not seen anything of him. Have said all along allow Jose to succeed or fail based on his choices, let him wield the sword to victory or possibly fall on it.

 

Now of the named options on there I do not see Rooney leaving United now, he seems set for a new deal. Falcao has suffered a bad injury, who knows when he will recover but he would still be in the running and I could see us landing him, though it may well be a big mistake. Cavani just went to PSG, they are mega rich, not happening imo. Higuain I doubt, if we really wanted him why not sign him before he went to Napoli? Jackson Martinez could be a possible, though what is the betting he is snapped up by Atletico to replace Costa?

 

So, in most likely order of the named players in the vote I would say Costa, Falcao and Martinez would be my expected order.

 

My own personal choice? I'd be real interested to see how mad Mario settled in here and how Jose would deal with him a second time. Could blow up in our faces, but if Jose could finally mature him, he could be very, very good. 

My money is on Heskey.

Diego Costa for both questions. 32 milion pound release clause, its a no brainer. i rate him more highly than cavani, and cavani would probably cost a fair amount more. Costa seems the perfect solution, and i tihnk he should be our number 1 target for summer

Cavani is the one I wan't but I think Jose has hegded his bets. Everything I have seen of Salah make me believe he can be an amazing front man in the aguero, suarez mould....

 

I think he will try him up top... if it works he's a genuis but if not there is the back up plan of costa so it's a win win situation for Jose

Think it'll be Costa too.  Haven't seen too much of him but his stats speak for him.  I just hope he isn't a one season wonder and definitely hope it isn't at the expense of Courtois. 

 

If I could pick one, I'd go for Cavani because I think he'd fit our team best, but I wanted Lewandowski!  I also have a feeling Mandzukic will become available this summer.  Not at the same level as some of the others, but he was fantastic for Bayern last season and I can see Jose liking his style.  Any one of them would take us to a new level though, our strike force isn't even on the same planet as our rivals bar Arsenal.  I'm just delighted we're finally resolving this.

Although I wouldn't crumble if we got Costa or Falcao from that list, I really really REALLY hope it's not Rooney.

 

On who it could be, here's a few things to stew over... Not signing a striker until summer and it will be worth the wait, Falcao has just suffered an injury to put him out until the summer... OR Jose could be trolling everyone and it turns out after everything he's actually talking about Lukaku, as he never said we'd sign someone? He just said we'd understand why we didn't in January and it would be worth it..

Suarez would be an outrageous signing. Won't happen though. It will be Costa, he's mad as a hatter but a great player with a fantastic work rate and for people who thinks he's only a one season wonder, he was very good last season playing off Falcao.

Third best player in the world right now and if Bale went for 100m euros then someone might pay that for Suarez. That being said I don't want him in a Chelsea shirt

I think we'll only know for sure in time. I reckon even Jose isn't 100% sure yet. You may find he gives salah a run up front and monitors lukaku's progress at Everton, you never know come the end of the season these guys may be good enough to lead our front line, otherwise you probably find he has a back up plan set up to buy, most probably costa. The other thing you might find Jose has a deal set up for costa for the summer but he wants to see whether he maintains his form to the end of the season and that he's not just a flash in the pan, after all 32mil is a lot and we wouldn't want to get burnt again.
