Diego Costa to Chelsea

This guy is the biggest waste of money in this transfer window. He is extremely overrated and a f**king twat of a person. This guy is the exact opposite of the type of player we should be looking for. A target man that can link up with our midfielders would be ideal and we go for a slow pick who scores easy goals only on the counter.

I would take my chances with Lukaku before this guy. Lukaku can bully his way when teams sit back and is a threat in the air.

Would be a huge mistake to buy this guy.

First of all, I don't judge players on their qualities as a person, John Terry isn't the nicest guy around. How is he the exact opposite of what we should be looking for? Costa is very strong and can link well with our midfielder, he can drop deeper if needed (see his last season, when he was playing 2nd fiddle to Falcao). Furthermore, he isn't slow by any means. Lukaku needs more space than Costa, something that we are unlikely to get against parked busses and also like it or not Mourinho wants us to be a counter attacking team. Costa is good in the air as well. Finally, I am willing to trust Mourinho here, if he thinks that Costa is the right man for the job then so be it.

It is clear to me that Mourinho has a huge bias for portugeese-speaking players, and it was true in his first stint with us, and seems to be true also in his second stint with us.  If Costa was a Frenchman, or Dutch, I somehow think that he would not be desirable for JM.  Felipe Luis is a similar situation.   To me, it is one of JM's major drawbacks, and will always be the case.  Mandzukic is much better player for the English league, due to his skill set as compared to Costa's.   I feel that Costa will be much like Kezman, someone who can score a bunch of tap-ins, but beyond that, cannot produce a goal out of nothing, like Suarez can do with aplomb.

What can Mandzukic do that Costa can't?

Did not see much bullying the other night against a side that sat back.

How many times have you seen him play? Because i'm guessing it's not a lot

Zouma, Fabregas, Matic, Eto'o, Schwarzer, Salah, Willian.

Willian is the only Portugese speaking player he's brought in so far.

Tiago?

Costa scored plenty of goals for Atletico. Who knows how many is he going to score for Chelsea?

To compare a 32m striker with a 60m one, it has no sense, I feel.

Does the price paid make a better player?

Zouma, Fabregas, Matic, Eto'o, Schwarzer, Salah, Willian.

Willian is the only Portugese speaking player he's brought in so far.

Portuguese is the main language in Brazil, so Willian doesn't count.

If Costa and Luis sign this summer then the Portuguese argument holds water.

For Chelsea Jose has signed a lot of Portuguese speakers... Could be coincidence but there are a lot of them.

Charierre,

Most of the times the price is a good idea as to the player's skills. Of course, there are an exception. Something tells me, you gonna come back with Torres.

Those are all the players signed by JM in his two spells. By my count, he has signed six Portuguese players: Carvalho, Ferreira, Tiago, Maniche, Hilario and Nuno Morais. Only three were ever first team regulars and one of those left after a year, one was a loanee, one a third choice keeper and one a fringe player who started one match in three years. As to Brazilians, he's signed Willian and Belletti. Alex is listed too but I'm not sure if he was actually a JM signing.

So hardly a huge bias there, particularly when you considered the many more non-Portuguese players he has signed. I find this argument as absurd as the idea seriously put forward by a few on here last season that JM had some sort of grudge against Spanish players.

Just look at the difference with an unfit Suarez a month after keyhole surgery who still wins a game on his own.

I long for the day we have a striker who has that ability.

Isn't he unfit? We screwed up last season chasing Rooney when it was clear Suarez was open to a move, we should just have trumped Arsenal's offer by a couple of millions.

Really sick of hearing this from people who claim to be chelsea fans! Seriously jt comes across has a really nice guy. If you are talking about the alleged affair key word here being alleged then your basing your opinion on a story that may or may not be true. If you are talking about the racism incident you know the one where he was found not guilty in a court of law then once again that makes no sense!

Seriously we hear enough sh*t from opposition fans about jt being a bad guy without our own saying it. Stop letting the media sway your opinion on him ffs!

Did she not take the paper to court & won a settlement against the paper.

Not sure although I do seem to remember hearing about it. Seriously though I can understand opposition fans jumping on it and claiming jt is a terrible guy etc but for chelsea fans to do the same is nonsensical! Especially comparing him to someone like costa ffs!

I don't like him, i never have. I don't think he is anything special, his goals are nothing spectacular and i honestly feel that if he comes up against defensive sides, which he will, he will fail every time. The likes of Aguero, Suarez, Van Persie, Ibrahimovic etc etc etc score goals out of nowhere, for £32 million that is what we should expect from Costa, but i don't think he has the ability to actually do that.

So i can easily see him getting frustrated and if he gets frustrated he will lash out and get himself sent off. Yeah we have sh*t strikers now, but you don't just bring anyone in for the sake of it.

But it's not for the sake of it is it? It's either we buy Costa, buy someone worse, or go into the season with Torres as the first choice again.

On JT, I don't expect he's a model citizen, but then I don't need him to be. Same goes with EVERY HUMAN EVER. The man kicks a ball around a patch if grass, does it better than 99.9% of the planet and loves the club and the fans. He could be a serial filanderer for all I give a sh*t.

Would love to buy the guy a beer someday and hear his Bantz.

I dont think Costa is the right man for the Chelsea job. We need someone a bit more explosive, composed finisher with quick acceleration. Costa seems a bit too laboured for the premier league, doesnt seem like a player who will create a bit of magic from nothing. We need someone more dynamic like Benzema? I like the look of Chilies forward who scored the first vs Spain or even Chicarito, I think hed be prolofic at Chelsea.
