May 7, 201610 yr Various sources on Twitter claiming he will serve a two game suspension. So we could have witnessed his last performance in a Chelsea kit. A 3-2 loss and he gets sent off. Getting the same style send off as Lamps & Ash, absolutely nothing.
May 7, 201610 yr Disgraceful to not offer him a new contract. The board don't give a sh*t to be honest, it's not the first time they have made disgraceful decisions in the last 10 years. This will be the worst for me though. Worse than ditching Mourinho, worse than ditching Di Matteo a few months after winning the Champions League, worse than ditching Lampard, worse than selling top players to rival clubs. The players mean a lot to the fans but nothing to the board, they are just pawns to them.
May 7, 201610 yr It won't be ideal if he's suspended for Leicester, but on the plus side at least it won't be the cringefest fairytale ending that was Gerrard's final game. We'll still give him a decent send off. Captain. Leader. Legend. Ad infinitum. Edited May 7, 201610 yr by the special one
May 7, 201610 yr Devastated that he won't play another game for us. His testimonial can't come soon enough. Edited May 7, 201610 yr by offside
May 7, 201610 yr The decisions they've made, they're horrendous. If you look at the decisions objectively, sorry but I disagree.
May 7, 201610 yr The decisions they've made, they're horrendous. One of the worst in football though? No it's not. nowhere near.
May 7, 201610 yr Can't think of one decision in recent times that has been the right one, maybe an overreaction, but I think certainly within the elite clubs throughout the world, for me one of the worst. Edited May 7, 201610 yr by Floyd25
May 7, 201610 yr Can JT appeal the red card? The probability of success might be slim, but there is nothing to lose.

When you say recent times are you talking about this season alone or last season as well ? This season has been bad and it is not just the board but the players as well who have been bad.
May 7, 201610 yr One of the worst in football though? No it's not. nowhere near. I don't know if they're the worst, and you can't really define the worst anyway. I do think they act like a mean heartless corporation. The type of corporation that would very rid of someone who had been there 50 years without so much as a thank you, and where those at the top can get away with anything. As much as I'm a fan, if offered a job there I wouldn't take it. If they treat legends in the public eye this way, imagine how they treat "normal" staff members.

Keep renewing his contract until he's 45? Or to put it another way, would you prefer if JT played for us next year at the detriment of the team's performance?
May 7, 201610 yr Author Really upsetting to think that that's the last time we'll have seen JT play for Chelsea.

They treat them very well as we were the first club to ensure all employees were paid a minimum of a living wage. As for the worst asknow almost any English clubs fans if they would swap their board/owner for ours and I suspect 95% would.

Or to put it another way, would you prefer if JT played for us next year at the detriment of the team's performance? I would renew Terry's contract as long as he wants to play here without a second thought. Terry will know when his time is up, he wouldn't carry on playing if he didn't think he could do it anymore. It should be Terry's decision when he wants to leave the club. After everything he has given us fans, this should be his choice. The only other club that treats their greats in a similar way is Real Madrid, it's one reason why football fans see them as a soulless club. Terry is more than just a footballer to this club. It's not just on the field that he has been great, behind the scenes he has helped the club greatly. We aren't talking about just one of our legends here, he is our greatest in our history. No other club would do this to their best ever.

I actually hope he stays, as a player or a coach. I just don't agree that the board should be somehow cast as the villain, they only have the best intentions for the progress of the team. May 7, 201610 yr Terry not getting a new contract is awful. It's the Lampard situation all over again. Our board sh*ts on our legends.
May 7, 201610 yr This is, for me, the biggest legend in the history of the club, Mr. Chelsea....I just can't come to terms with it. I'm afraid of what happens when I'm no longer in denial about this... Absolutely Devastating how our board treats our legends!!! First lamps, now JT.

I think the club gets the decision just about right on when to call time for our old servants with the exception of ivanovic (serbian-russian special connection??) .. And yes, real madrid is a bad club, not only clubs legends but about every single player that they treat them whenever they want to as if some disposable commodity but to my amazement, players still see them as their dream club to join..
