Yeah because poor old Schwarzer needs a rest doesnt he lol

If Hilarious does start, its a clear middle finger to the FA

And a clear middle finger to the chelsea fans travelling up to the game. I can accept wanting to rest outfield players ahead of athletico but not a keeper who has barely played a minute so far this season. Schwarzer needs all the match practice he can get if cech is out for the rest of the season

I will lose a lot of faith in Mourinho if we play a completely ridiculous team.

I've already put the team I would like to see and if it's not close to that I think we are doing ourselves a discredit, the league and most importantly our fans.

The league is a long shot and I don't expect us to risk Hazard or Eto'o or even somebody like Luiz.

But considering we have 2 other strikers fit, an AM cup tied, another who didn't play on Tuesday,3 CMs who can't play Wednesday, a left back who needs games, a keeper whose played 5 games this season and another defender who was suspended on Tuesday; I think we have a duty to field a decent.

If Hilario starts this game along with the likes of Baker, Ake, Christiansen etc it would really be disrespectful to the travelling fans and all of us who back Jose everyday in the face of endless media storms.

It would be hilarious to some extent to up two fingers up at the FA, but there's a limit.

The league may still happen, so we need to at least put a squad that can beat Liverpool.

But at the same time Schwarzer is probably the least replaceable player in our team at the moment in terms of decent enough cover. If he plays and gets injured everyone will moan that Jose should of rested him.

I am taking all this with a pinch of salt at the moment. Jose hates losing. We'll see what he does team wise Sunday first.

Your win on sunday. liverpool will lose. your midfield is still stronger then their whatever midfield as you could play two midfields and beat them.

I think table will be this come 6pm sunday

liverpool 80 36

chelsea 78 36

man city 77 35

it be therefore in city hands to win league. win the game at everton who be missing distin now and their be champions of england

Redandwhite 3 your jinxing worked against Sunderland (along with our own poster mocking City for drawing at home to them...) and I am expecting your jinxing will firmly work for Liverpool again this weekend.

Have said it before many games ago and will say it again, I fully expect Liverpool to win all of thier remaining fixtures. This is not us at our best they are facing. There is no Cech, there is no JT, Jose is talking about resting people as he has set his mind firmly on the CL it seems.

All in all this adds up to, from Chelsea's point of view, as a game we really could care less about and want to focus on Wednesday.

For Liverpool this is their coronation in front of the Kop against a hated opponent. They will give everything to win and we will mainly be looking to get out of their with no injuries to conserve what we have left for Atletico. Jose knows he needs an immense performance to win that one. Whatever the gaffa of Atletico says about it is complete BS, Atletico came out of the first leg firmly in the box seat, no away goals let in, only 1 player missing through suspension, Chelsea losing Cech, JT, Lamps and Mikel for the return leg. It is advantage Atletico, a side well on their way to becoming kings of Spain, and Jose knows it.

Is possible Jose has the biggest flanker up his sleeve?

Schwarzer

Ivan

Cahill

Terry (he's not really injured)

Dave

Matic

Luiz

Willian

Oscar

Hazard

Eto'o

Maybe? Just maybe? It would be the stuff of legends if we went there with our 'first team' and won on our way to the league title.

Anyone want what I'm smoking?

Imagine if we ruin Liverpool's party in their own back yard?

Imagine if we hand "their much deserved title" to Manchester City, or better yet end up taking it ourselves?

I would not be able to get the smile off my face all summer.

Shame this match isn't going to be as big as it could of been if we had beaten Sunderland. I think a mix of first teamers and some under 21's will still be strong enough to give Liverpool a good game. Love a win but Ath Madrid game right now is more important so i can understand Mourinho thinking.

I hope we play

schwarzer

azpi ivan cahill cole

ramires luiz matic

willian eto'o hazard

if latter 2 aren't fit, id start ba and schurrle.

im hoping ramires appeals his ban so he can play.

If we go 3 nil up then we can rest some players going into the second leg.

Read the comments... People ask me why i hate Liverpool, They're the lowest of the low... SCUM OF THE f**kING EARTH!

half of them have probably just jumped ship from supporting united, ive seen that quite a bit on my facebook stream. The facebook liverpool page is just ridiculous, i dont know if other football pages are the same but its full of glory hunters that dont have a f**king clue about the club at the moment

And if he plays schwarzer and he gets injured? You'll be happy with hillario against Madrid I presume.

I wouldnt expect Christenson to play as we have a youth cup final to play the following day.

We also have to be careful, if L'Arse and Everton have good weekends they could be right on our tail for the champions league place and our record against the relegation fodder for the final two games isn't great.

What if he plays matic and he gets injured and misses the start of next season? It's all ifs and but's. Schwarzer is in desperate need of game time otherwise he goes into a crucial champions league tie rusty. This isn't a dead rubber game so can we stop acting like it

Something not mentioned so far. You also have to consider Schwarzer's confidence.

Look how people on here were dissing him only last weekend against Sunderland. Look at some of the comments on him made in the match thread when Cech was injured and he was getting ready to come on against Atletico. Then he shows them all up by having a blinder and his own confidence levels must have shot up. I know mine did.

Well, say he starts at Anfield, in front of make-shift back four, without the JT / Cahill rock in front of him and it all goes tits up. He lets in 3 or 4, has a bit of a mare. What would that do for him mentally before the biggest game of the season on Wednesday night?

I would fully understand if Mourinho chose to protect him for Wednesday. I would fully understand if Jose felt it was to field an under-strength side.

Not saying it would be right, but I could completely understand why.

It's easy to criticize when you have hindsight.

People were right to be concerned. He did have a howler against Sunderland but he redeemed himself with a commanding performance.

Just a horrible thought, if we do field a weakened team, which seems a likely and we lose the game, but then city and Liverpool both drop the points we would have needed them to for us to win the league, it would reflect so badly on us, I know there's been plenty of points where we have dropped points but this would be the clear game for everyone to look back on and say we missed our chance.

I will say that I don't think both teams will drop the points we need but just a thought. Besides if we get to the final I think it will be enough to vindicate the decision to put the champions league ahead of the prem

I'm surprised the Premiership have so readily given us the thumbs up to field a weakened team. While they may be powerless to stop us this is a blockbuster game where worldwide interest will be huge and you'd think they'd strongly disapprove of anything that cheapens it and vicariously their brand.

In any case, whose bright idea was it to dump such a fixture right in between two potentially huge European nights?

Just a thought - we can't completely take our feet off the gas here because if Arsenal and Everton win they'll be two and three points behind us - we could be fighting for fourth place!

Plus, Jose may think about fielding a weakened side (which is what most managers would do) but does he have to blab on about it.

ps) of course Schwarzer must play. Cech's injury was a freak occurrence.
