Chelsea are plotting a £20million summer swoop for Juventus’ Arturo Vidal.

Jose Mourinho’s scouts have been keenly watching the Chile star, who is an all-round box-to-box player and is seen as a potential replacement for the Blues' long-serving Frank Lampard.

Vidal, 26, is believed to fancy a move away from the Serie A leaders this summer. And with Juve expressing an interest in Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder Ramires, a swap deal could even be struck.

Ramires may be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

After the re-signing of Nemanja Matic in January, Mourinho is keen to recruit another central midfield player this summer.

Ideal situation for us, a swap deal involving these two. Doubt it will happen but if we could pull it off really would be killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

Probably would need to be 20mill or more plus Ramires, maybe more like 30mill plus Ramires.

I'd absolutely do this deal if it was a possibility. Ramires and cash for Vidal would leave us with a wonderful midfield two.

That's true, but pogba is about 20? Therefore he can give you at least 5 years at his peak, if not more. I've never seen vidal play, who is he similar to in world football right now?

Matic and Vidal ..Oh my.....Lampard will leave next year ...we just have good defence :)

vidal is better than pogba at the moment, not by much though, and the fact pogba is this good at 20, means his price tag is astronomical.

I read that juventus were going to bid 20m for ramires, so if they value him that high I think 20m plus ramires would be fair.

Hard to make a good comparison for vidal, maybe fernandinho but he's more aggressive and scores more goals.

More box to box than playmaker, but a player of vidals standard would improve us immensely. Having matic and vidal might even take some of the defensive workload of the attackers, giving them more energy in the final third.

We have our own Vidal. He reigns from Nigeria and his name is John Obi Mikel.

We missed the boat on Vidal when he left Leverkusen. It'd be a massive signing but it won't happen.

Also if you're looking for a comparison he is more Toure class than Fernandinho.

I think he is lot more defensively responsible than toure is these days.

Apparently he ha s dodgy knees that need surgery in the summer.
