He probably wouldn't have made it tbh and he didn't do welk after he left, I just feel like maybe sometimes players deserve abit more time but of course we brought back Crespo the following season and he was great.

I don't think he had a fair shout personally, sometimes it takes a player a while to settle

 

He was an average player, way out of his depth at CFC. No amount of time would have changed that.

Id love to see us sign Rodriguez instead of Luis. Think he would be better suited in the short term as well as a long term project. Could be our next "Dave"

Then when he is playing at right back and Luis on the left, we should be pretty well rounded.

Can't agree with that. Kezman was, at best, a mid table team striker. He ran with his head down meaning he was easy to defend against and little awareness where his teammates were. The amount of possession he wasted simply wasn't good enough for a team fighting for honours.

Marcelo had that awful look on his face every time something goes against him. It's half no comprehension of what just happened and half electric shock. Just makes me chuckle every time I see it. He was just as much a culprit for the 7-1 as Luiz prone to exactly the same mistakes.

Marcelo has gotten of pretty lightly from that battering, quite a few goals originated from his mistakes. He's the Brazilian Glenn Johnson.

Sealed the deal according to reliable Duncan Castles.

Duncan Castles saying hes signed for £15m, plus he had to apparently finance €5m of the transfer himself to push it through. Shows hes desperate to get the transfer through which should bode well for his commitment.

€20m, we apparently got a discount of around €5m because it was clear Luis wanted the move (training with the reserves).

I love this signing for two reasons, we have a well rounded left back and finally Azpi at right back.

Happy enough, he is a top full back, despite the fact he isn't a particularly long term signing.

Be interesting to see how we balance everything at the back with Luis coming in. Brana was given free reign last year to bomb on while Dave sat back and kept a 3 with Cahill and JT infront of Cech. Probably won't be alone in thinking Dave has a much better end product going forward than Brana does.

Spanish newspaper AS is reporting that Luis is due to fly to London this week to complete a medical ahead of signing a 4 year deal.
