So massive club Liverpool spend 5 years getting back in the cl, then put out a weakened team away to Madrid. Small time w**kers.

I keep harping on this but it bothers me sooooo much. And they actually have a chance of qualifying!!! If they actually go out and fight they may have a chance of getting a result. How can Liverpool supporters justify this? This is the f**king CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!

I was brought up on a Liverpool team that challenged on all fronts playing with a squad of 15 or 16 players many playing 60 games plus, winning three of the four trophies. Tonight Brendan has disrespected the clubs own Istory and declared Liverpool are no longer a big time team who can compete in the big boys playground. Hope they get smashed tonight and remain the small minded team they now are for many a season.

I would understand Liverpool's heavy rotation if they had 6 points in the group, but they have 3 and they sort of need a result here to be in control of their own destiny.

This is potentially the first nail in Brendan's coffin.

Not playing who are deemed to be his best players against the biggest team in the world will not sit well with the men in suits

Totally agree with a lot of the above comments. This taking the piss of the CL will not go down well with a lot of LFC fans - it's like a white flag. I was expecting that (as we'd all hope of our teams if we were in a similar situation) LFC would do a Rorke's Drift but - as is now clear - Rodgers has f**k all class.

Well as you might have read earlier I said a hammering isn't on the cards but it is now I'm afraid. Maybe he's taking a page from mourinhos book and playing his b team then parking the bus for a win

If Brendan gets a 2 - 0 win from parking the bus, I'll be impressed.

Let's see how easy defending is...

Adrian Chiles just said everyone loves Brendan Rogers...

*facepalm*

I heard that and threw up as well.......I think Rogers also said the team he's put out tonight is the team that played Swansea....In the Capital One Cup.

RIP Liverpool FC - the night that they finally conceded they are European bit part players. The late Emlyn Hughes will be turning in his grave and Graham Souness will be baying for blood before this night is out.

Is this team seletion the equivalent of waving a white flag?

I wonder if he is anticipating us resting a few players tomorrow night and is doing all he can to get an advantage.

Rodgers really hasn't coped with two games a week at all.

Interesting question: do you think Mourinho would have lost a lot of credibility amongst us if we had lost to Liverpool last year?

The more I think about it, this is close to what I think Liverpool's strongest starting 11 is. Only changes I would make is Sterling for Markovic & Henderson for Allen. Obviously Sterling when he's back
