November 3, 201411 yr In case anyone's wondering, That was meant to be a blushing emoticon, Not that I was blushing what with me being a macho, rugged Northerner but I felt that compliment deserved a blush.
November 3, 201411 yr I was hoping your game would be a draw yesterday, but who didn't enjoy Rooney constantly trying to ref the game and getting nothing for his rants, he must be the last to realise that no Fergie, means that all bets are off, ref wise... And yes Liverpool away is massive for us, but not nearly as massive as last seasons game up there...The press had convinced them they only had to turn up and the league was theirs...And then Demba Ba of all people, what a great Birthday that was for me... November 3, 201411 yr I never thought I'd see the day where United fans would clutch onto moral victories Lol Fair play to them they did well in the last 15 minutes of the game but it was there for everyone to see that we were short on confidence, We were edgy, nervy, Even in the first half we didn't really get going, It was just a moment of magic from Aguero creating chances for us, As everyone prior to the game including myself said we were there for the taking. I actually cannot believe we are still 6 points behind Chelsea, I went back through our results so far and we have had two periods in the season where we have not won a game for 3 matches and we have had a blip/semi crisis, I actually think that Van Persie equaliser last week did us more favours than I originally thought. Now you fellas know I'm not a wind up merchant or an attention seeker so when I say this you know I'm being 100 % serious, I actually think Liverpool can end the unbeaten run, If not get a point. If you go back to the United v Chelsea match thread I openly said that you would not lose to United and that Liverpool away was your toughest test. Looking at that game now, Liverpool should be going into that game off the back of consecutive defeats, So Chelsea have to play the crowd, the emotions of the day, The fact the opponent wants to get back to winning ways and the revenge factor, Trust me they haven't forgotten about that game from last year, They are still seething. That game is their Cup final, The players will want revenge, the manager, the fans etc, If Rodgers is under pressure for his job, Do you think beating Chelsea or holding them to a draw will buy him some time from the scouse fans? You bet it will. You cannot ignore what you did, You stopped them from winning their first Premier League title in humiliating fashion. Now whilst that is just my opinion, As you all know I'm very fair in my assessments, I certainly will not overlook how good of a game manager Mourinho is and how much superiority your team has over theirs, The other way to look at this game is, If Chelsea win at Anfield on Saturday, With all those hurdles I have placed in front of them, I would walk the Premier League trophy to Stamford Bridge, It will take massive balls to win at Anfield next week. Whatever happens and I know it's still early but next week is a mahooosive weekend in the title race. Fair assessment. Even if we get beat (which I highly doubt), we will still be top by 3 pts and that's us played 3 almighty big away fixtures)
November 3, 201411 yr Jovetic should be a good enough alternative for Silva. Is this sarcasm? Genuinely, hard to tell over the internet.
November 3, 201411 yr Some journo at the DT has ranked the atmospheres at the 20 PL grounds. We're not last by any means: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/picturegalleries/11204948/Ranking-the-atmospheres-at-the-20-Premier-League-grounds-by-Jim-White.html?frame=3093739 That plum goes to Aston Villa, who are "currently muted in the misery" Also funny, again from the DT: Headlines you won’t be reading this week – Chris Smalling: the thinking man’s footballer – Brendan Rodgers: “Operation Title Challenge 2064 coming along nicely” – Supporting Villa ‘even less fun than following Spurs’ – claims – Pardew pulls level with botulism, Thatcher in North East popularity contest – Mourinho making enough noise for 41,387 people anyway Edited November 3, 201411 yr by Blueblur
November 3, 201411 yr Is this sarcasm? Genuinely, hard to tell over the internet. I was serious. If they had played him in the same role they do for Silva rather than upfront then it would have lessened Silva's absence.

November 3, 201411 yr Nice little article on Borussia Dortmund support and ticket prices. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29624410
November 3, 201411 yr Great ticket prices at Dortmund shame they're bottom of the Bundesliga and always selling their best players, However it's not as simple as that, The fans are as passionate as they come and as clueless as they come, The German equivalent of Arsenal fans except they have passion. The fans get cheap ticket prices in order for the hierarchy to have the license to sell their best players to 'big, bad' Bayern and other 'soulless' clubs, Which in reality aren't as 'big, bad' as people make out, The fans have been told they cannot compete despite them bringing in huge revenue during that Champions League final run, Despite them winning back to back Bundesliga's and despite them bringing in over £35 million for Gotze and much more for other transfers, This picture that's painted that Dortmund are some innocent, fairy tale club who are being bullied into mediocrity is a big myth, The hierarchy just lie to their fans better than Arsenals that's all.
November 3, 201411 yr Whatever happens and I know it's still early but next week is a mahooosive weekend in the title race. Like the assessment and I could see the Liverpool match going either way, but I really don't think this weekend is that massive. The big period for us is the 20 or so weekends after Christmas where we play teams who finished below 7th last season. That's where we win the title in my opinion. The important thing for us was to not lose the matches at City, United, Liverpool and Arsenal and we're halfway there so far.
November 3, 201411 yr Thanks Barn I echo Barn, I enjoy reading your posts, you don't need to defend your posts if they might be seen as anti-Chelsea (which it wasn't).
November 3, 201411 yr Liverpool are about to get hammered, can't wait. The kind thing would be for Real to say 'look, call it 8-0 and we won't play the game'. I think most Liverpool fans are dreading the match.
November 3, 201411 yr Palace should have had a nailed on peno. Fatty couldn't keep up with play after a minute

November 3, 201411 yr I've always found it funny with football how you get 20-30 odd year old grown men running around chasing a ball, whereas if some of these guys were playing with their mates in the local park anonymously, you would have young people laughing and saying their a bit too old to be playing football for recreation. Does anyone else ever thought the same? I know it's popular sport, but it's always come across to me as a kiddies sport and nothing more, yet these guys are being played thousands of pounds a week to do it. Then you have 40+ year olds running after them and refereeing these grown men lol. I love football, but sometimes you sit back and think about these things while watching it.

November 3, 201411 yr I didn't really make that sound how i meant. I meant that football is obviously played by men at top professional level, but it is really more of a kiddies sport. It's just funny when you have grown men chasing a ball and an even older man refereeing it the grown men. Don't you think it's a little funny to see men in their late mid - late 20's and 30's playing football? I was just thinking this watching the palace/sunderland game. Dowd is what, 49, 50? It's just funny to me to watch a man of that age keeping order in a football match, running after other grown men. A man of his age should really be at home with his wife and kids watching the soaps, but instead he's running about officiating a football game between two sides of men between 25-35 years of age. Most average joes of the same ages as these professional footballers, have respectable jobs, such as doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers etc. am i just sounding like a c*** or does anyone think the same about football sometimes? Please tell me it's not just me.
November 3, 201411 yr Hope Sunderland hang on for Gus' sake. I will probably be watching Ludogorets tomorrow, so I will miss the Real-Dippers game, which is just as well - I don't enjoy rape scenes too much these days I appreciate it will be a diffucult game, but I can't imagine a better time to play them than this weekend - after 3 consecutive losses, with their best striker either still out or just coming back from a long injury, their spirit will be at their lowest since Torres squared the ball to Willian in April. They may well be up for it, but that will last until the first goal.
