November 18, 201411 yr Can't understand why you would choose to have nasri over oscar and silva as a number 10? He has had one decent season the whole time he's been in England. Silva doesn't suit our style and can see him becoming a liability for us, though he is incredible. On par with Hazard but a different player. I just like Nasri's game. I think he would play well with Hazard's ability to get to the byline. He would always be there for cut backs. He also has great dribbling ability. He gets a lot of slack but I think he is actually a great team player and will sacrifice himself if need be. I like Oscar as a player, but he is a player we could improve on and in the FFP age any silly bid for him would need to be considered so long as a like for like replacement was in place. Kinkladze. I would sort of agree. When the mental side of the game is considered, Matic is a better player and that is why I would not swap him if I had the chance. Though Yaya is so gifted and can be such a threat. When he wants to be he is the best centre mid in the league.
November 18, 201411 yr Liverpool won't be qualifying for CL then. Good f**king riddance, they were an insufferable one-man-team last season who got second place through some frankly dubious refereeing not only in their games but in ours as well. Back to the the fiery chasm mid-table abyss from whence they came.

November 18, 201411 yr Kinkladze I agree regarding Nasri. He seems like the sort of guy who will get in the opponents head a bit and has a bit of a fighters mentality. I think he's really underrated because of the way he moved to you and the fact that like you said he has a face you want to punch. I think he's an incredible footballer and I would rather have him in the number 10 spot over Oscar. In fact him, Zabaleta and Kompany are the only City players I would take to replace starters in our team (Oscar, Ivanovic, Cahill). Other players are better than some of our starters; Toure> Matic/Fabregas, Silva>Willian, Aguero > Costa but I wouldn't want them as the players we have suit the way we play more. Ok maybe Aguero because he's just class. The best player in the league since he joined and weirdly underrated. Sorry but I wouldn't swap Oscar for Nasri. Nasri's temperament and ego alone are reason enough for me but just in a footballing sense I think Oscar is a better player.

November 19, 201411 yr Sorry but I wouldn't swap Oscar for Nasri. Nasri's temperament and ego alone are reason enough for me but just in a footballing sense I think Oscar is a better player. Nobody has to agree and it would be boring if everybody did. Thinking about what I said though I would take Toure from City to replace Oscar. Toure in the same midfield as Matic and Fabregas would just be incredible and would be so flexible in terms of who plays where.

He's only going downhill being 31, and his attitude is horrendous.
November 19, 201411 yr Liverpool won't be qualifying for CL then. Even before Sturridge's injury setback they were never qualifying for the CL!
November 19, 201411 yr Even before Sturridge's injury setback they were never qualifying for the CL! Not even the most deluded Scouser believes it now though.
November 19, 201411 yr Apparently Sturridge's brothers were professional footballers and also beset by injury issues. There could be some inherent structural or muscular issue? . Gutting for the lad on a personal level and Rodgers can't be happy with the news.
November 19, 201411 yr Whilst I take no pleasure in Sturridge's injury (he's always been respectful if I recall) - a RAWK meltdown/paranoia rant is always welcome whilst I'm at work. I am one who believes in karma though... and jinxing things.

Oh I agree, it would be dull if we all agreed on everything all the time. With regards to Oscar I personally think he's a bit undervalued at times. As for Toure, when he's in the mood he's nearly unstoppable but his form this season has been quite indifferent and much like Nasri has a questionable temperament and a rather apparent ego. Based purely on ability I would have him in the Chelsea team but taking age and personal baggage into consideration I wouldn't want him.
November 19, 201411 yr Not sure if already posted but the Italian national coach has stated that he does not have the time to change Balotelli. Feels he can't succeed where others have failed. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2839728/Mario-Balotelli-won-t-change-says-Antonio-Conte-great-coaches-tried-failed.html

That is brilliant. Every time I think they can't get worse, they prove me wrong! (and why would a Manc target Liverpool? Ha ha!) Edited November 19, 201411 yr by Beerqueen

But it is funny all the same as all the dippers I know have been saying for weeks "wait until sturridge is fit then we will be competing for the title again"
November 19, 201411 yr Malky Mackay gets the Wigan job despite being a sexist, racist, homophobe. But Jose's sarcasm is the real issue for the FA and modern football.

November 19, 201411 yr http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=317780.240 Some good ones in there.
November 19, 201411 yr Just re-read an article about Rodgers' complaints against the England set-up. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/11090915/Liverpool-manager-Brendan-Rodgers-upset-with-England-over-Daniel-Sturridge-injury.html Will he now attack himself for mishandling his own player? Under Rodgers, Liverpool’s sport science department have significantly reduced the number of weeks missed by players due to muscular injuries – particularly their most dynamic stars who rely on their speed – fuelling their sense of frustration at the manner in which Sturridge was supervised. "“I think clubs work differently at times to international teams. It’s more the recovery strategy. When we look at our players here, we look at them individually in terms of what their needs are." They are such smug and pompous gits at that club.

And there's us fretting about Costa's hamstrings.
November 19, 201411 yr Rodgers can't blame anyone for buying an injury-prone forward with an nut-job Italian who can't be managed as a fall back. Rodgers really is buying into the Scouse blame rubbish.

Sturridge-gate; it'll be up there with who killed JFK and the identity of Jack the Ripper. I am a bit confused at how nobbling Sturridge's food can lead to muscle issues?
