Sturridge-gate; it'll be up there with who killed JFK and the identity of Jack the Ripper.

I am a bit confused at how nobbling Sturridge's food can lead to muscle issues?

You're a hopeless conspiracist!

From RAWK:

When you look at money spent in the premier league era, it's incredible the amount we've spent without a single league to show for it. We're probably the worst big club in the country when it comes to transfers, I think at some point somebody is going to have to realise at the club that you can't expect to be regularly competing with the big boys on "potential" and "undervalued players" alone

I assume he was tarred, feathered and banned immediately, with a full scale lock-down of all threads to ensure nothing further could be posted to escalate the situation?

Well, you don't want the Scousers to get excited.

Windows break and cars get stolen.

Malky Mackay gets the Wigan job despite being a sexist, racist, homophobe.

But Jose's sarcasm is the real issue for the FA and modern football.

Ah the good old values that used to be the cornerstone of the English game!

Precis of a short article in today's Times: with previous thigh injuries, Sturridge has been in disagreement with LFC medical staff about recovery time. LFC staff are telling Sturridge he can return to training after, for example, 12-20 days and Sturridge has been unwilling to try until he feels it's the right time. Apparently, Sturridge was more willing to try to recover last season, when he was in competition with Suarez.

The Times reports LFC frustration at the cautious approach taken by Sturridge.

There's an interesting point in the article that Sturridge may be

psychologically damaged by repeated injuries in that, with each new injury, he is (probably correctly imo) more concerned about recovery and future injuries. This concern delays recovery time as the player wants each time to return only when 100% fit to (as Sturridge may see it) reduce the chance of a fresh injury.

It's the perfect storm for Sturridge (sadly) and LFC.

When he left Chelsea there were rumours the trainers and physiiphysios weren't impressed with his attitude to injuries, wouldn't train unless 100% etc.

That's a new one on me!

That's a new one on me!

super physios, basically twice as good as a normal physio.

Rumours persist about Di Maria possibly be sold as early as January by United.

I'm assuming it's just international break column filling but it's odd that this rumour has persisted for a couple of week now.

Be quite embarrassing for United if he were to leave so soon after joining.

From every word I have hear from di Maria he doesn't sound like he likes being at utd. Always talking about moving away, you can tell he'd rather be at psg

Why would they sell him so soon after making him their record signing and star player? Makes no sense.

Bit of a strange rumour alright but maybe LvG could be the problem. Not known to every players cup of tea and has rubbed many big players up the wrong way before.

Zeta, Maybe he's realised with all the injuries and the fact this recovery of United getting back to where they were doesn't seem coming anytime soon that this isn't his long term club, You do realize Di Maria was in the pro Mourinho brigade at Madrid when Casillas threw his toys out the pram? How good would him and Hazard be in a Mourinho counter attacking side? We would also take him in a heart beat, I'm sure clubs like Arsenal, PSG and even Bayern would love him, He would easily attract bids if he showed any sort of discontent regardless of whether the rags wanted to keep him.

When him and Falcao were brought in, It was with the idea that these players would help get them challenging for the title not mess around and be flirting with the possibility of missing top 4.

Don’t think United would entertain selling him.

They don’t need the money since they are the 3rd richest club in world football, he is clearly their best player and he will be on a fair whack of money.

United could only lose on pretty much all levels by selling him within a year.

Blind out for sixth months according to... yes... Twitter.

Maybe not though... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30128792... Confusing.

The Guardian, with their tongues firmly planted up United's arsehole as always, are saying:

“He has a brace on his knee,” Van Gaal revealed on Friday. “After 10 days’ rest, he’ll have another scan that will say more about the injury. It’s not as bad as the doctors thought after the match. It shall be a long story – but not six months or something.”

Either way it's looking like he's out until at least the new year you would imagine that either way he's going to be missing for a fair chuck of what's left of the season.
