The truth is more the directors ran the team and club down as much as possible to make relocation an option, then gave the fans no choice. A sickening action.

And winkelman was encouraging them every step of the way

If I recall, at some point MK Dons voluntarily relinquished any claim to Wimbledon's history.

So on the same basis shouldn't have taken over their league position then.

Agreed, but they are over emotive and don't understand the simple fact that their club was on a very steep slope and was destined to go bust anyway thanks to Hamman. Blaming MK is convenient.

I don't agree that MK Dons should have been allowed to just rename a club so they could exist without having to start from scratch but, again, that does not change the fact Wimbledon were dead in the water.

that slippery slope was created though, the whole thing was engineered so the move would happen. it was disgusting.

Of course not, the whole episode was wrong. The worst part was that despite the rhetoric, it was never about saving Wimbledon. All they wanted was their league place. Their way of getting into the league was almost as grubby as Arsenal's.

at the time I worried it was the start of US style franchising, clubs whoring themselves around the country. Glad it never happened. So far.

AFC Wimbledon can be proud of that  performance. I'm astonished that Akinfenwa lasted the full 94 minutes, fair play to the Beast.

Rodgers using that word 'character ' yet again in his post match interview.....twice.

It's awful isn't it?  And loads of people on twitter have told him so.

hmm I didn't see that, but I did see a lot of people clowning on Lawrie Sanchez's beard on twitter. It was trending for a minute there. I guess he was on because of the Crazy's Gang Glory vs lpuke

Maybe reading too much into it, but Rodgers looks like he wanted anyone but Gerrard to score...I can't believe Gerrard would leave if he was happy playing under his manager

I think there's a lot more to this little saga than we're being fed. Still a wins a win, even if it was a scrappy, probably undeserved win. Thought we started well enough but were too weak in the challenge and tried playing too much pretty stuff.

For all the banter and stick we give Gerrard, I can't believe the way he's being allowed to leave Liverpool this early...have Liverpool not taken any notice of what chelsea are going through with Lampard?

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has been fined £20,000 for smoking in the showers after the New Year's Day defeat at Southampton.

What a weird thing to do!

The difference being Lampard at 36 is still a better player.

Agree, but not as if Liverpool have much talent on their books...think Gerrard has always been overrated but he's still better than a lot of the sh*t in their squad...it's one of the reasons why he gets all the attention when Liverpool are playing...it's by default really

I assume the shower wasn't actually switched on when Szczesny had his crafty fag...Bit pointless otherwise.

As for Brendan/Gerrard I saw an interview last week where the first thing Brenda mentioned was "that slip" against us. He then went on to say that Liverpool wouldn't have been in such a good position last season if not for Gerrard's efforts. But I thought it was wrong to even mention an incident which must haunt Gerrard as much as JT's slip in Moscow must haunt him. It struck a bum note, to be honest and made me dislike Brenda, even more than I already do.

Messi's odds to join Chelsea have been shortened from 8/1 to 5/1, I try to be as honest and straight with you boys and gals on here, My honest opinion is I'm sh*tting myself at the possibility, I don't care what Mourinho says if Lionel Messi is unhappy and you have the finances, You buy him, It's almost a case of we have to win the title this year because there might be a good chance we won't see it for another 2/3 years afterwards.

Having said that, United are also being linked with him, So if I was to view the scenario from a half glass full perspective, Messi in a Blue shirt playing for my fellow moneybags brother or Messi playing in, I can't even type that, Too horrendous to think about.
