April 6, 201511 yr I thought City actually player well and on another day would have thrashed palace...I see Pardew is being lauded on twitter and tipped as future England manager...there is no way England will get away with playing like that or be that lucky This is an interesting question. Is Pardew the best English manager out there? He has certainly surprised me. I thought he did very well at Newcastle and survived many years, which is untypical for that place, and he left on his own terms. They were dead certs to get relegated earlier in the season, and everyone was out to get him, and it couldn't have been easy for him but he dug them out of that hole with ease, and with hardly any players of note to speak of. I always thought he would be found out but he seems to be better than I had thought. He's worked wonders at Palace since he's been there.
April 6, 201511 yr On the plus side, this will surely (!) allow Jose to play youth if we snatch it early. Who cares about the youth, it's Petr Cech we should be thinking of if we snatch it early. Absolute legend, the best keeper we've ever had, and he deserves to start at least one more game at home and get the send-off he deserves.
April 6, 201511 yr I am so ruddy excited, Stoke done and Palace helped us out, feeling a whole lot better.
April 6, 201511 yr Frank was sh*t when he came on...it's amazing how poor he's been ever since the truth came out over his non move to New York City Whenever I've seen him come on for City, all I've seen him do is goal-hang, more or less playing up front. On another note, like Gerrard this is the last we'll see of him in the Prem, and like Gerrard, he is getting limited game-time. Unlike Gerrard nobody is even talking about him. Strange one that.

Pardew has done well but he always starts well at every club he's been at, it's always the seasons after where it all goes wrong.
April 6, 201511 yr I didn't realise we had United before we had Arsenal thought it was the other way round.
April 6, 201511 yr They have spent a lot more than that in crap like Fernandinho, mangala, Demechelis etc This season alone they have bought Sagna, Fernando, Caballero, Mangala and Bony, and Lampard on a free but big wages. That's a lot of money right there.
April 6, 201511 yr Pardew has done well but he always starts well at every club he's been at, it's always the seasons after where it all goes wrong. Over four years at Newcastle and left on his own terms. Not a lot of people can say that. Newcastle is a big club and clearly a very difficult place to manage. He lasted a lot longer there than Big Sam.
April 6, 201511 yr Exactly...they're best players are still the same names in Aguero, silva, Toure (although fading) and Kompany (not as good as JT even at his best)...they need a decent manager to run the club and call the shots...pellegrino is a wet paper bag

Leave him alone.

It was only a big deal when Frank equalised against us and everyone was up in arms because he scored a few important goals for them. Now he's rubbish everyone's stopped caring.
April 6, 201511 yr Why did they sign Sagna? Really didn't understand that one Because of their FFP restrictions. They bought him in because he can play right back, centre back and midfield. Added depth and experience to their squad. Basically an upgrade on Micha Richards.
April 6, 201511 yr question about Kompany....did he put Pellegrini in his place by refusing to come off? IMHO I think there will be some more drama coming from City this season
April 6, 201511 yr Big Sam for me. Pardew has done well but he always starts well at every club he's been at, it's always the seasons after where it all goes wrong. I'd take Pulis over either, he virtually guarantees an improvement in results, sometimes instantly.
April 6, 201511 yr Over four years at Newcastle and left on his own terms. Not a lot of people can say that. Newcastle is a big club and clearly a very difficult place to manage. He lasted a lot longer there than Big Sam. Allardyce didn't get much of a chance though, sacked after barely six months when they were 11th, which is pretty much where they were when Pardew walked.

IMHO I think there will be some more drama coming from City this season Kompany signaled to be taken off as he had an injury but then signals that he's fine so there's no need for the sub.
April 6, 201511 yr It was only a big deal when Frank equalised against us and everyone was up in arms because he scored a few important goals for them. Now he's rubbish everyone's stopped caring. I know we disagree but I still maintain he shouldn't have signed for City, think it was a kick in the teeth for the fans and I think he should have thought about them a bit more. Did a press conference in New York but didn't have a contract with them. Had a contract with City but didn't do a press conference. The story broke and he has gone seriously off the boil and I don't think it's a coincidence. He wins the title with City and it takes a bit of gloss off things for many Chelsea fans. I remember when we played City at home earlier this year, after the story had broke, he came on and he didn't look remotely interested in scoring. I may be wrong but that's what it looked like to me. He scores that day and there's no way he's doing that lap of honour at the end.

We do disagree, but to me a player no longer needed/wanted at a particular club is entitled to go wherever he can get the best deal, and it wasn't Arsenal, Liverpool, Man U or Spurs, all of whom are more disliked rivals than City. I doubt it would be much different whether he got to City via New York or went direct. It's not as if the fans wouldn't have noticed either way. It seemed to me the real issue was Frank being at City and doing well for them, rather than simply being at City. The Lampard thread exploded when he scored a late winner for them the same day we got beaten at Spurs. After that he stopped scoring, we've widened the gap with City and funnily enough there's been very little said of him since. Edited April 6, 201511 yr by Englishman
April 7, 201511 yr Who would have thought that with 31 games of the season gone, Man City would be 4th ? crazy. The top 2 teams from last season are now 4th and 5th in the league.
April 7, 201511 yr Who would have thought that with 31 games of the season gone, Man City would be 4th ? crazy. The top 2 teams from last season are now 4th and 5th in the league. Well Liverpool are Liverpool, they were punching above their weight. As for City, it seems the wheels have just pretty much come of their season. Aguero was injured for large stretches, they lost Yaya to Africa when he was hitting top form, Silva was in and out of the team, and Kompany has been wobbling. Their spine has pretty much been lacking. They need to make very smart investments this summer and not just expensive squad players like Fernando, if they want to challenge for the title and go further in the CL.
April 7, 201511 yr If they don't move on a few of those players in the Summer, next season will be the same regardless of whose manager.
April 7, 201511 yr Maybe Jose was right, remember he said something along the line of City players are at their prime, and we were not, but we would get better, they would go down hill ( of course not that far). They did sign proven striker like Bony to cover for the earlier sell of the big Spaniard, but they are still totally dependent on the Kun and Toure to bail them out. Fernadiano was good last year, just haven't heard or seen much positive from him this year, and what's with the Mangela? I got nervous for a second when I heard they signed him
