April 29, 201511 yr Bollox, if they were in the title race they would have attended. Article says 'pay through the nose', that'll account for the accent then.
April 29, 201511 yr This is their reasoning: Well that's even more ridiculous. You can't try to protest ticket prices whilst also ensuring you're able to continue purchasing said tickets in the future. Besides, there are only 4 games left in the season, two away and I would assume the Chelsea game has already been on sale.... What the f**k do you need to be worrying about loyalty points for at this stage of the season? You can't have it both ways, you either pay up (because if lack of loyalty points is an issue then despite ticket prices the demand is clearly there) or you vote with your wallet. This is the definition of an empty gesture.
April 29, 201511 yr Yep. Bet they bought those tickets when top four was still realistic and decided to take some moral stand rather than travel to Hull and watch their team serve up more sh*t. Scousers can create an excuse for anything.

They were trying to build-up loyalty points for the Final, got knocked out and decided f**k going to Hull to watch us serve up sh*t. Make up some bullsh*t excuse when you realise you've spent £50 not on a better chance of a Final ticket, but to watch Hull play Liverpool. I'd protest that sh*t too.

But that's just it, you can't protest something that you've been an active participant in for the whole season and then just out of the blue go "you know what, f**k this". It holds no weight as a protest, especially as you say when it's clear that the only reason for protesting is because you've now got f**k all to play for.
April 29, 201511 yr The FA Cup really is becoming increasingly irrelevant compared to where it was 20 years ago. You now have a final that kicks off at 17:30 but doesn't get the build-up it once did, in a stadium that is the most soulless of soulless bowls which is guaranteed to look empty at the start of the second-half because 30,000 of the seats have gone to people who probably don't give a f**k about the match and won't contribute to the atmosphere and now you're renaming it. I don't feel anything about not being in the final and I'd quite happily see us put out a youth team next season. Probably won't even watch the match. They need to put the FA Cup final back on a 3pm Sat KO. Also the other rounds should have more attention like the semis should have been on a weekend by themselves none of this others playing when they're on. Get the games solely on Sat and Sun again too scrap this Friday, Monday, Tuesday sh*t. Totally agree with you on the tickets aswell. The reasons they don't all stem to money though, businesses like pubs, food places etc make more money as the KO is later and we know the TV ratings have actually been better with a later KO aswell. It's the greed of the world unfortunately. Only reason I'm not as bothered this year is we have other irons in the fire but I want us to win the FA Cup every year same as I do with the League Cup, Champions League and Premier League. Putting youth teams out in the competition will only cheapen it further and I wouldn't be happy if we did that. Edited April 29, 201511 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
April 29, 201511 yr They need to put the FA Cup final back on a 3pm Sat KO. And make it the last match of the season again. And have the semis at neutral club grounds, not Wembley.
April 29, 201511 yr And make it the last match of the season again. And have the semis at neutral club grounds, not Wembley. Yep so many things they can do to fix the problems with it. These are just the start, I think the only reason focus has gone off the FA Cup is because of TV and the fact they mess about with it so much. I always remember the 3rd round of the FA Cup been the best day of the season.
April 29, 201511 yr I honestly think there is something wrong with Guardiola, he looks like he is about to murder someone. https://vine.co/v/eW3gBVelOEW
April 29, 201511 yr If you want the FA Cup to be relevant again then the prize money has to be increased by at least 20-fold in my opinion. That takes it up to £20 million - one-fifth of what the bottom team in the Premier League earns. I don't really have much of a problem with the name of it, but it's just one more thing. The league has become so important and so hyped and so important to business that a Cup competition that brings in such little money really cant be given the prominence in the club's planning it once was. Sad fact of modern football.
April 29, 201511 yr I think I read something last night that said the Liverpool fans protesting bought £10 kids tickets, but I was skim reading so I may have got that wrong.

April 29, 201511 yr The only way they're gonna get the money though is through sponsorship so it's one of those things unfortunately. I missed out the money for going through the rounds so a Premier League team winning the Cup would get just under £3.5 million. Then you've got TV money. The problem is that sponsorship depends on interest and the league and Champions League are of greater importance to most fans.
April 29, 201511 yr So they are unhappy that they have to pay more than most other away fans, isn't it just a c**ts tax then?
April 29, 201511 yr ...isn't it just a c**ts tax then? When you put it that way, I'm sure they'll understand!

April 29, 201511 yr Best team in Europe since Christmas my arse Arsenal forward Theo Walcott says the Londoners have been the 'best team in Europe' since the turn of the year. The third-placed Gunners have been in great form in the Premier League since January, although their charge stalled on Sunday when they were held 0-0 at home to leaders Chelsea. That result left them 10 points behind and all-but ended any lingering hopes they had of reeling in the Blues but Walcott believes the strength in depth in the squad means a title challenge next season will be on the cards. Walcott last started back in March and his fellow-England internationals Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs also failed to make the starting XI for the Chelsea game. Quoted on Arsenal’s website, Walcott said: “There is a lot of competition for places, so everyone seems to lift a gear and play extremely well. It makes it a bit more difficult for people to get into the team. "I think, especially this season, not many people thought we would be challenging for the Premier League. "In this calendar year, we have been the best team in Europe. It is the strongest the squad has been and everyone is staying fit as well. "There aren't many injuries in the squad, which is important. If we had an injury-free season, I think we could lift the title." Walcott, who joined Arsenal back in January 2006, added: "I’ve grown from being a little babyface to a man. “From when I joined the club to now, it’s completely changed. The likes of Freddie Ljungberg, Robert Pires, Thierry Henry, Sol Campbell and so on were there and had won the league before, going undefeated. Coming into that squad was a big achievement.” In response the the three bolded parts- they've challenged for the title this season? They never even got close to us in the table. - the best team in Europe this year? Shouldn't they have knocked out Monaco then? - every team could say if they didn't have injuries. Had we not lost players to injury at times we have we probably would be champions by now. Edited April 29, 201511 yr by Bobbywoodhogan

You would have thought that Arsenal would have learned not to get too far ahead of themselves by now.

It seems that players from other teams are always mouthing off - I can't remember the last time a Chelsea player said anything similar (and we surely have more reason to mouth off than others)?
