August 31, 201411 yr Author It will be interesting to see how Mou uses him - as a direct replacement when Costa's not available? Alongside Costa when chasing games to provide a second striking option? Maybe as a wing forward in the dying moments of games if Hazard/Schurrle aren't available for some reason (he is quick enough to rip through tiring defences)? It will be interesting to see.Probably all this options depending on injuries etcI still can't believe we've replaced our entire strike-force not very often that happens, really feel like this season (and part of last) has been the clear-out we've been speculating we'd have for years Edited August 31, 201411 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
August 31, 201411 yr Costa and Remy is good, hopegully Drogba will retire at the end of the season and we can get in someone like Destro as well. Any news on shirt number? I'm assuming #9? Surely we should give number 9 shirt to Costa now?
August 31, 201411 yr Author Surely we should give number 9 shirt to Costa now? Be abit harsh on those that have bought his shirt. Wasn't he 19 at Atletico anyway? Might be his preferred number. I say just give Remy number 9. Edited August 31, 201411 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
August 31, 201411 yr Surely we should give number 9 shirt to Costa now? He likes 19 Had it at Atletico too
August 31, 201411 yr Is this now a better strikeforce than Drogba, Anelka and Kalou? I'd say yes. But not as good as Drogba, Eduir ,Crespo
August 31, 201411 yr Is this now a better strikeforce than Drogba, Anelka and Kalou? I'd say yes. As a three yeah but the goals that lampard gave probably made our double winning season attack the edge
August 31, 201411 yr Author As a three yeah but the goals that lampard gave probably made our double winning season attack the edge Yeah wasn't that his most prosperous season for us?
August 31, 201411 yr Would have preferred Bony but Remy will do. Cheap too. Amazing how we've changed our three strikers and replaced them with better ones within one transfer window.
August 31, 201411 yr Welcome to Remy. Makes a good backup option. Hopefully we'll go back in for Destro next summer because I liked the look of him. Our strikeforce is so much better now.
August 31, 201411 yr "I feel very happy and very proud. When I heard Chelsea wanted to sign me I said "let's go" straight away because they are one of the best clubs in the world"
August 31, 201411 yr or dixon speedie and nevin!! or Ossie, Hutch and Tommy . Still quite good though and a massive upgrade on last year.
August 31, 201411 yr He's listed as #13 on the chelsea website, but that's probably an error, unless Cech is off and Courtois is taking #1
August 31, 201411 yr Really happy with this signing. £10.5m - bargain IMO. Off the bench Remy could be valuable asset to deploy against a tiring defence but most of importantly he'll be able to share Diego Costa's workload. Remy's flexible too in that he can play as second striker or as a wide forward in a 4-3-3, although I wouldn't think he'll have to perform the latter role too much given how strong we are out wide already. Overall, a terrific transfer window, starting with the David Luiz sale and culminating in the acquisition of Remy. Absolutely delighted with the work that the club have done.
August 31, 201411 yr Great signing. Imperative that we signed a good back-up striker with proven Premier League experience. Costa, Drogba and Remy - as opposed to Torres, Ba and Eto'o = impressive transfer window.
August 31, 201411 yr All done with no transfer deadline day panic buys. Measured, composed business from the club, still think Remy wasn't mourinhos first choice but if he's available for that price it will have been an absolute no brainer. Premier league experience, minimal risk, decent age, good price and we are not far off breaking even in terms of ins and outs on a financial basis, thus favourably impacting our FFP requirements. Happy to have Remy as an option and if I saw us lining up with him in the side, no matter who the opposition may be, I will feel a damn sight more confident than I did at any stage last season when we had trolles and etoo struggling for goals in the league. Happy f**kin days lads and ladettes City can have ol glass knee falcao. A few minging premier league style two footed tackles will put that big Michael Jackson lookalike arsehole in his place. Let's go and destroy this chuffin league chelsea. YASSSSSSSSSSS
August 31, 201411 yr Author There's so many people around the bet claiming he won't get a game and his career will hit the sh*tpan. Really hope he shuts those people up, cannot wait to see what he delivers.
