STAR WARS - Possible Spoilers

Featured Replies

The Star Trek reboots/reimagining's were really well done, I'm not a Star Trek fan but really enjoyed them.

Super 8 was a pretty well put together Sci fi/adventure film too. Personally I think he's the closest thing to a safe bet for the franchise.

I cant be alone in thinking Star Wars is a bit overrated?

I watched them all a long time ago and somewhat enjoyed them, didn't think they were amazing though :/

Yoda is a cool mofo though.

I don't know if it's because my standards aren't as high as other Star Wars fans but i enjoyed 1,2 and 3. The lightsaber battles were pretty awesome. They aren't anywhere near as good as 4,5 and 6 though. There are so many great moments in those films. I have seen episode 4 so many times now i can play out the whole film in my head

I actually prefer the prequels to the originals, just because I saw them first.

I saw the originals first and really wanted to like the prequels, but they were just awful, to say the least.

.... You wasn't in a Galaxy Far, Far Away by any chance was you?

I just started watching Star Wars the other day (for the first time yes). Already knew the big twist so I'm watching in the order 1-6. I must say the original trilogy is so much better that its hard to believe they're made by the same person. Aren't they?

They are the same maker but, looking at the films, the first three (in chronological terms) are so bad that it's hard to link them with episodes IV, V and VI. Episode V is probably the peak of the series. I hope the new film cannot be compared to the 'new' films and that it can reset the series. It's hard now to explain the huge impact of the original films upon cinema goers of the time. Episodes IV, V and VI were always going to be a hard act to follow.

So I went to buy the original trilogy on Blu Ray yesterday but it's only the 90's remastered editions where Han doesn't shoot first and you have the awful CGI Jabba scene.

Very disappointing that the original versions are being overlooked.

My friend, wait until you get to Return of the Jedi, they made the worse change of all:

He's added a Darth Vader "Nooooo" as Luke is being tortured by the Emporer, also we now see Sebulba (from the pod race) in Jabba's palace, and Hayden Christiansen as the force ghost at the end.

Horrible

Only just noticed this thread.

My God, we don't have sci-fi fans on this forum surely? I can picture the gathering at the next Star Wars convention - all dressed up in their outfits and comparing notes.
