I thought he had a pretty good game. He was a bit wasteful in the penalty area, but he did well to get there time and time again and create some havoc in Spurs' defese. He also set up Sterling's big chance, had some good turns and dribbles, did well to hold on to the ball and did his defensive duties.

I feel he's often a bit of a forgotten man, but if he keeps playing like this he definetely has a part to play this season. Good utility player who can do a job in midfield or as a wingback.

I tohught he did ok too, starting to have the feel of a James Milner for us.

Take a bow son.  As good a performance as I ever seen from him.

I do think he has great close control but holds on to the ball a tad too long.

It's still same but difference is that he played the ball to a man when a pass was on whereas before he would still keep it till it gets pinched off him.

I'm silently very confident RLC takes the next step forward in his career this season. First and foremost he has to stay fit. If he can do this he's always in contention to play. Whether we sign FDJ or not RLC will always have plenty of game time now due to one the new 5 sub rules, two his unique profile/characteristics and finally because our midfield is very lightweight. I mean in terms of fitness only Jorginho stays fit regularly, sadly Ngolo and Mateo have their fair shares of injuries.

Looks tailor made for the right wing in midfield because he offers a lot of what James does going forward and then also allows James to play a little further back to cover pacey forwards but also to occupy similar positions going forward to where he would be if (james) himself was playing rwb.

That being said James's best position is rbw, so with injuries in midfield I would be happy to see Azpi go rcb, James rwb and the RLC right side of the pivot.

100% must not leave this season, needs to work hard earn Tuchel's trust and then show the world what a fit RLC is capable of. Very good player on his day and personally he is good enough to stay with this squad long-term now he needs to make his mark

Did surprisingly well at RWB. Though still think he'll be targeted a lot by anyone with a good attack down the left. But going forward he's able to use his dribbling and strength to power us forward.

Look I’m a football expert, and I can easily see RLC’s best position in Centre mid, as a Marauding powerful runner with the ball, I made a comparison of he could be the new ‘Yaya’ he is that good, like an upgrade on Kovacic, I know that is a bit much, but we know what’s in his locker, let him free TT

What a shockingly bad comment.

Calling RLC better than Kovacic or the New Yaya based on one game he played at RWB boggles the mind.

Think it's massively unfair to Kovacic who's been consistently excellent for us to suggest RLC is an upgrade on him.

I imagine he was also thinking back to the Sarri season, when RLC got into double figures for goals from 1,702 minutes (17 starts, 21 sub appearances)

In comparison, Kovacic has managed just 4 goals in his entire Chelsea career over 4 seasons ...  10,121 minutes (114 starts, 42 sub appearances)

RLC  may not quite be "Yaya Toure", but he is already a hell of a lot closer than Kovacic will ever be 🙂

As promising as the Sarri season was for Ruben it does come with the small caveat that they were the last league goals he actually scored for us.

And given his season on loan at Fulham where he started the entire season behind the striker his solitary goal all season was basically a deflected own goal I'm not sure he's the answer to our lack of goal threat in midfield.

He may be more Yaya than Kovacic is but at this point it's like arguing which of the 2 Albinos has the best tan.

FU, and your derogatory comments, I’ve seen him play in midfield for us and Chelsea, and think he has the potential, in fact we all know he has.

Stick to Fifa22, its a bit easier to understand, or restrict your sh*t observations!!!!!!

I meant Us and England, before he got injured Southgate was bugging him up as the next Gerrard type…

He's 26 you absolute clown.

People love academy players but it's cringe worthy seeing people pretend they're superstars every time they have a good performance especially if that performances is in a completely different position because they're consistently exposed playing in the one you think he should be playing.

"The new Yaya"   "a clear upgrade on Kovacic"

Kovacic has been named our player of the season more recently than RLC has scored a league goal for us.

Not that you'd know that.

And your actual point is, he should be gotten rid of, i love Kova, but your end product is nearly as sh*t as his is apart from a once in a lifetime worldie, Im not the only dude to Q your obtuse posts, but its fine banter, and i love a bit of Pen sword fighting...En GardeMartial Arts Fight GIF by RETRO-FIEND

But that's been the problem, the idea is great but it's just simply not translated into reality. The idea of Josh McEachran was out of the world and look what happened there.

And at the risk of sounding pedantic, wouldn't it be easier to turn him into Yaya on FIFA? I had Ziyech looking like Messi on that game ffs.

RLC turned out to be the jack of all trades for us. Maybe not even that strange considering that somewhere at the start he was supposed to be a winger but was simply too bulky and then he went to different positions so the fact that he is actually doing okey as a wing-back and also can do the job centrally shows that he really was a good prospect, every team benefits from such a player.
