Selfie Sticks Banned

If you want a photo taken then ask someone. Just be polite, say please and thank you and you won't have a need for a stupid stick that won't take a photo half as good as a fellow fan would.

Just don't ask a pissed up fella and you'll be fine - you might even make a new friend.

Great move! I can only hope Chelsea does the same thing as it's cringeworthy and annoying for other spectators.

Ban them and do it now.

Hate everything about them and all the sort of bellends that use them.

Also makes me laugh how I am not allowed to take a bottle of water (with a cap on) into the stadium but the tourists are allowed to take a 3 foot metal pole in.

Ban them and lets forget they ever existed.

'Unfortunately, we can confirm that selfie sticks are banned on match days at Emirates Stadium

The club’s ground regulations prohibit any object that could be used as a weapon or could compromise public safety.’

Brilliant stuff. Patent nonsense of course, no one bringing a long stick to take better pictures of themselves to a football match is going to risk getting roughed up by starting any trouble.

That said, I do love a democracy in which you can ban something purely on the grounds that there is a common consensus that it makes you look like an arsehole. It was the same as with the snood, they basically invented a reason to ban it (risk of neck injury) just because they pissed people off. On these same democratic principles on completely trivial matters, we should lobby to get celery re-instated, especially now Fabregas is a Chelsea player.

I wonder what we can ban next... maybe those Justin Bieber haircuts?

Not sure we'll see CFC take the same stance, as we're selling Chelsea branded Selfie Sticks in the megastore, are we not?

......chatting to a Rottenham season ticket holder today who was telling me about his mate who sits behind him at 3 point lane . Said gentleman is known as one leg Pete ...........as he only has one leg and walks with the help of crutches. He is allowed to walk on the perimeter of the pitch to access his seat before each home game but then has to hand his crutches over to a steward for the duration of the game, as they could be used as an offensive weapon ??.......world has gone mad .........as his mate says .I only have one leg what f**king chance have I got of catching a professional footballer and whacking him with my crutches ??????
