Not sure how true it is, but I've seen a lot going on today about Chelsea getting Oscar and Ramires out to help fund Pogba? Been reading that Juve have shown interest in Oscar for some time which could help send Pogba our way. Thoughts on possibly letting go of Ramires and Oscar in order to bring in Pogba?

Oscar and Ramires are fine for squad depth. No need to sell them. We should sign a midfielder instead, someone like Koke.

If we have to keep selling players just to buy players then we are in trouble. Also, our squad is going to look very thin if we ship 2 players out and only bring 1 in.

I was expecting Cesc to score more goals than he has but saying that you would let him off because of how many assists and chances he has created for us. I would sell both given good fees but i think Mourinho likes both players too much to sell.

Fabregas only had one serious goalscoring season at Arsenal, when he was playing as a number 10 behind whoever was least injured out of van Persie, Eduardo and Bendtner; that season he scored roughly one in two. At Barca he got anywhere between one in three and one in four, when frequently deployed as a forward.

 

Other than that, at Arsenal, when consistently played at centre mid, he's only scored more than three in a season once. I don't think he's really ever been a consistent goalscorer from the middle of the park.

His game is setting them up not scoring them.

Although if he did play further forward he'd no doubt get around the same as Oscar as he did seem to score a few for Barca when played further up.

What we are looking for is a Lampard type in his prime...that to me does not exist just now.

I would consider Oscar + a small cash sum for Pogba.

Oscar and 10 million for Pogba would do me nicely, that being said these exchange things never actually happen.

 

I wouldn't be in support of shipping out multiple players just to bring in 1 person like a Bale or Pogba, we need more depth not less.

But surely that's how it should be? Buy players who will improve you and sell the players who are surplus to requirements? And perhaps Mourinho does now think some of the youngsters are good enough to start filling the squad places?

 

I think Ramires and Oscar have both done well in the past but neither have had what could be classed as a good season, so I wouldn't be disappointed to sell either. Progression.......................

Would hate to see Oscar leave with all of his best years in front of him.

We shouldn't sell Oscar we need some quality strength in depth and on his day he is class, we play a lot of games in a season and being on the bench every now and then resting him could help.

Like to see Oscar stay but if bundling him + money or another player gets us Pogba or similar them im for it.

That said I agree with folks here, we need depth, Ramires needs to go, so that leaves us needing to add several more.

Means losing 2 players 1 of which is a nailed on starter and the other a very important squad player for just one big signing.

We have a pretty weak squad depth as it is and I don't think we could go into next season with that if I'm being honest.

As much as I'd like to cash in on Oscar we kind of need him as only Willian will be left as a realistic attacking central mid and I don't know about you but he's as lethal as Torres in terms of assists and goals.

I think we need to beef up our squad while retaining the quality players and Oscar is in the bracket. Ramires could be sold though and he and Mikel would be the likely ones to make way if someone like Pogba or Bale came in.

Its a straight swap, one big singing and a youth player. I personally dont think Oscar should be a nailed on starter, hes way to inconsistent and I fear he will never be a player that delivers consistently (yes, I am aware he still very young) when he is good he is very, very good. In fact Id say hes excellent, but his lows are way too frequent for me and when he is poor, he is incredibly poor. Ramires for me is just not a good footballer. And should be okayibg for a club like Chelsea. He is sh*t about 8 outta 10 times. He is a major liability with the ball at his feet and his only noticable strength is running around.

Mourinho did say the squad would be assembled next season in a way that rlc would be competing. So maybe it would be more like Pogba and rlc for Ramires and oscar. We would definitely end up going 433. I can't really see any of this happening though.

Sky reporting Barcelona and Chelsea are the front runners for Pogba, but that he would prefer a move to Spain.

Not at all against seeing these two out, such inconsistent players. I have loved both at times but in a team that needs to win week in week out we cant have players like this starting and performing poorly on a regular basis. I think the two combined would fetch about 45m. That would go a long way towards a potential bale signing. I would love a 3 pronged attack of bale, hazard and costa. We would rip teams apart. We'd need a bit more beef in midfield if we went for this, maybe khedira on a free to form a trio with matic and fabregas until rlc or ake are ready. Heres to hoping!!!
