QPR vs Chelsea (PL) 12/04/2015 KO: 13:30 GMT

Featured Replies

Anyone with a spark of originality may have thought about asking Cahill about Remy facing his old club instead...a more up to date and relevant theme

Does anyone care about that though?

Not saying you're wrong about the media but will the Chelsea fans sing songs about Rio and Anton? Will the QPR fans boo JT?

If the answer to both is yes then has everyone 'moved on'?

Glad this is on Sky Sports. I'd almost forgotten about the Terry-Ferdinand "saga".

Thankfully I'll have 90 minutes of listening to it all over again on Sunday.

The QPR keyboard warriors are out in force on Twitter already.

I am surprised they haven't made it over here yet. I remember that dreadful match in the fall of 2011, they bombarded TalkChelsea - then the most horrible result happened - still I was proud of the Blues because even w/ 9 men, CFC almost gained the result

I think every single game is important and once we reach the magic number of 15, can we relax.

I also think we generally take for granted the teams in the lower part of the table and I'm really hoping here and now that our boys smell the finish line and take it up a notch.

Of course, am concerned for Cesc and Matic. We need them both in this game and the subsequent big ones coming up.

We can do it, it's just not the nail-biting down to the final whistle kind of finish I'm hoping for. Would like to see a comfy 2-3 goal difference at the end.

People saying to rest Cesc and Matic, not a good idea. While everyone says we will struggle without them against utd and arsenal, there is no guarentee we will win with them!! So what if we rest them both against QPR and lose. Then lose to

United and Arsenal ??? As someone said earlier next game is always most important and we deal with the others when they arrive.

No doubt in my mind Jose picks his strongest team here

Absolute class from the website pre-match briefing:

Barton only recently returned from a three-match ban for a straight red, having seen yellow in seven successive matches. Prior to the weekend he suggested Chelsea had to be champions after spending ‘gazillions’ in the transfer market. Yet the Blues’ net recruitment spending in summer 2014 was in fact virtually flat, whereas QPR’s trading, according to reports, left them around £21m out of pocket. (Should the Rs be relegated there is some concern the Football League’s financial fair play rules could lead to sanctions including further demotions.)

By January, with his team struggling unexpectedly, QPR owner Tony Fernandes was publicly questioning the money/results formula. ‘No more cheque book,’ he announced on social media. ‘Bought all the players manager asked for in summer.’ Presumably Barton missed that.

Brilliant!

This could be the game where we get 5/6 goals - please let's do this against QPR, can't stand the barstewards!

We keep saying this yet every game so far seem hard work.

I don't see many goals in this and I'd bite your hand off for a 1-0 scrappy win.

i'll take a 1-1 and no injuries ..... we better come out with the right attitude which is where AVB got found out big time and lost a lot of our support for him .

This is QPR's must win for the fans and they will let the players know it ...........they don't care about getting relegated so long as they beat us

They will throw everything at us

I know! Every game I'm thinking This will be the one!  I would take any win at all, scrappy or not, just get us the three points!

I reckon you're right about Jose picking his strongest team, but that backfired last weekend and in a tough local derby it could do again.

My first thought is to avoid playing the form team in the league without our first choice midfield/only decent midfield combination at all costs.

But I also understand the view that the next match is always the most important and it's really not worth even acknowledging the matches afterwards and worry about those when it comes to it.

We owe them a [literal] kicking, therefore I think we should play our dirtiest XI. This is the XI (or the X + Courtois) who have given away the most fouls per game this season:

---------------------------Courtois

-----------Ivanovic------Cahill--------Mikel

Ramires---------Matic------Fabregas---------Luis

----------------Willian----------------Oscar

----------------------------Costa

Assuming Costa is injured we should stick in Drogba. He concedes fewer fouls per game than Rémy, but his particular brand of cheating will probably infuriate QPR more than Rémy's status as an ex-player.

Is start with the strongest 11 however if Matic or fabregas get a booking I'd hook the other off at half time so at least 1 of the 2 will be available.

I'm not overly concerned by the United and arsenal games. I think even with either matic or fabregas out we will still beat United and grind out a draw or win at Arsenal. Arsenal have to go to United as well. Can't see them getting 2 wins at old Trafford in 1 season.

If we beat qpr, Leicester, palace, West brom, and Sunderland. It won't matter what we do against the red trio.

can't even be bothered with predicting these games now, just a win will do. if we manage to score the a few and play well, all the better.

Mourinho has just said both Fab and Matic start on Sunday despite being one booking away from suspension. Fab to play in a mask to protect his nose!

QPR remind me of that toddler cousin your parents would make you play football with. He'd kick you all over the place but if you gave him so much as a dirty look he'd run off in floods of fake tears.

I went to a game at Loftus Road way back in 1986 as a teenager.

I remember the smell of celery was everywhere, the ground was 3/4 chels but somehow we lost to them 6-0 (I was there when we were sh*t)

It got funny towards the end and we all just sang "we love you chelsea" non stop for the last 10 minutes round the whole ground - even half the QPR end was chelsea - , you wouldn't know there was a QPR fan in the ground.

Reverse of that scoreline would be good. Remy and Haz to get a he trick each?

Costa is apparently the only player out injured for this, José is expecting him to miss four games, so in theory he'll be back for the Palace game on 3rd May. On the bright side, this means Mikel is back!

"Only Diego is injured, everybody else is fine and ready. I think we have eight matches to play, if he plays four it is normal. If he plays three he is a bit below what I am expecting. If he plays five that is more than I am expecting. I am not concerned."

Its unfortunate that all teams we play in the next few weeks are scoring and or playing well for various reasons...I had this premonition...Unfortunately it was ........DRAW 2 2 with QPR...........DRAW 11 with MANX........LOSE 2 1 ARSENAL.......DRAW 1 1 at LEICESTER..........Im always wrong so hope the trend continues......I DO FEEL WE NEED TO PLAY CECH IN GOAL V ARSE N MANX.........TBO is very good but i feel just now we need the experienced old head for these oppos.......

If those results happen mike we would end up a point above arsenal and in to a rough end of season run in!

Think this game defines our season. A win here and we are on our way. Anything else opens up possibility like mike listed.

People will be surprised to know that I agree and I'm VERY nervous about this game... Need Arsenal to draw or lose too. I don't want them anywhere near winning it, if we're caught by a Manchester club then I'll be distraught but not sure I could ever leave my bed again if Arsenal did. *Shudder*
