Just seen a great retort to the constant "boring" jibes from opposition fans.

"A lion does not concern itself with the opinions of sheep"

Made me smile anyway.

That was what Uno used to have next to his  forum name.

I have to say this talk of markers for next season and making statements doesn't resonate with me at all - we have already proven what we are and what we can do. Now we have an unique opportunity to test promising young players against a team that will play their full-strength line-up and do everything it can to win. We want to know whether they can perform in games like these - they will be expected to do so if they ever want to play for Chelsea FC.

I hate Liverpool more than I hate any other team - I really effin do :106: ; but I love Chelsea more and giving our young talent a chance and seeing how good they are means more to me than 3 points and a possible home defeat.

Regarding our starting 11, Jose mentioned in an interview that Terry and Ivanovic have told him they want to play every single game and, barring injuries, that's exactly what I expect will happen. I would outright dismiss some overused players - Dave, Matic, Fabregas, Hazard, Willian. With injuries to Ramires, Oscar and Costa, this is how I want us to start:

----------------Cech-----------------

Ivanovic---Zouma---Terry---Luis

-----------Mikel------Ake-----------

Cuadrado------RLC-----Remy

---------------Drogba---------------

Subs: Courtois, Cahill, Christensen, Izzy Brown, Boga, Abraham, Solanke

That gives us an established back 5, shielded by 2 defensive midfielders - that alone should be enough to provide a solid foundation to build attacks.

I think it was an in-joke.

I'd play felipe, zouma, cech, and remy in for azpiliucueta, cahill, Courtois, and drogba.

Get rlc, ake, and solanke on at some point second half.

Don't want to lose to this lot.

Let the youngsters get starts in the last 2 games.

Fair enough, that just went over my head.

I don't think we should play too many youngsters from the start - the occasion can get to them and if we get a drubbing early on, it might to more damage than good to their psyche. I'd rather we start with a couple and then introduce others between HT and 65th minute, regardless of the score. Play them more next two games.

I want Cheek to start as well.

But I want him to play in one of our strongest line ups, not one full of youngsters. We still won't be able to make a clear judgement if he is surrounded by youngsters instead of usual first 11 players.

Only changes should be Cech for Courtois, Zouma for Cahill and maybe Luis for Azpi in my opinion.

Personally I'd like to see RLC given 3 straight starts in the remaining games. The boy looks such a talent. I think in the Liverpool game He'd start in a otherwise full strength line up but then over the last 2 games expect to see some game time for a couple of the other youngsters and back ups. However make too many changes and it's hard to judge how a player can fit into and contribute to the team.

How long haven't the players trained for? I see fabregas was in Barcelona yesterday with messi and couple other friends. José knows we can beat Liverpool without our first team lol

Apparently they were given 4 days off and had to report back to training today.

I love how cheeky our website content has been this season!

This weekend the most successful team in English football history are expected to form two lines and applaud champions Chelsea onto the field of play. It is traditionally the home side that provides a guard of honour for a newly-crowned visiting side, but the gesture of respect by the Brendan Rodgers and his Liverpool side is not unprecedented.

In fact when Bill Shankly’s Liverpool clinched the Football League for the second time in three years in 1966, the next visitors to Anfield were Tommy Docherty’s Blues. Having already taken a flag from the Kop and waved it for the home fans, Docherty asked Ron Harris, Peter Osgood and co. to form a guard of honour for the hosts as they emerged from the tunnel.

The generous Chelsea players, who finished fifth in the table, even hung around at the end to applaud the champions again (not that we are suggesting, Brendan…). By coincidence, Jose Mourinho’s third success now matches the title-winning achievements of Shankly, as well as Arsene Wenger and Stan Cullis. Never go back, they say. But Mourinho has made history as the first manager to return to a former club and win the championship again.

The league title will now reside at Stamford Bridge for a fifth time. It would of course be beneath us to mention that Chelsea have now won the Premier League more times than Arsenal.

From another bit:

It may not have escaped the notice of the Anfield supporters that the 25th anniversary of Liverpool’s last title win passed on 28 April. It was secured with a 2-1 home win over Queens Park Rangers, identical to last weekend’s beating of the Rs in every aspect except its relevance.

Brilliant!!  :laugh2:

Carrick's out for the remainder of the season therefore Loftus-Cheek can play as long as he scores the winner. Come on boys! You can do it!

I hope we start Loftus Cheek surely. I mean title is done and dusted and it's the right time to play these kids.. they'll get exposure of big game... and will surely help him settle more easily next season...
