August 26, 201510 yr I recognize that name, didn't they knock us out of the UEFA Cup once? I think it was in the early '00s. 2001 or 2002.
August 26, 201510 yr I recognize that name, didn't they knock us out of the UEFA Cup once? Tel Aviv has a lot of teams, but the most popular are Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv. We played against Hapoel Tel Aviv.
August 26, 201510 yr Fellaini is set to be deployed as a striker by LVG this season. Wat?! Surely it's just LVG trying to put a rocket up Rooney's arse. "Even Fellaini looks more promising up front than you!"
August 26, 201510 yr Author Spurs set for a third bid for Berahino in the region of £25m (that £21m for Pedro is looking better with each passing day). Charlie Austin is available for £15m, surprised they're not in for him.
August 26, 201510 yr Tel Aviv has a lot of teams, but the most popular are Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv. We played against Hapoel Tel Aviv. three/four years on the trot our uefa cup campaigns was absolute crap Edited August 26, 201510 yr by Devil Dog
August 26, 201510 yr Another Liverpool target can't bring himself to live on Merseyside Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi has told reporters he is "pleased" to be returning to boyhood club Real Sociedad after a disappointing stint at the Bernabeu.
August 26, 201510 yr Square peg in a round hole. Rodgers was asking him to play in a lone striker role that he was completely unsuited to. It's like how he completely mismanaged playing Lambert. He was expecting both to play in the style Suarez did for Liverpool instead of adapting his approach to provide the type of building/service to get the best out of them. He quickly scapegoated Balotelli when results weren't going their way and it's no wonder his head went down. It really was disgusting the way Rodgers threw Balotelli under the bus, and yet he has never been given any grief over it by the media.
August 26, 201510 yr That Carragher thing is out of context. He said in an article that Balotelli is a bargain, when comparing it to the fact that Fulham had just paid like £11 million for Ross McCormack. Which is probably fair enough. And following on from Dkw, I'm pretty sure Gerrard threw him under the bus in a post match interview as well, can't remember the details though. Similar to KP in the cricket. He's clearly a nob, but if you manage him properly you could have 1 hell of a player there.
August 26, 201510 yr Rodgers may have thrown him under a bus but let's not act like Balotelli is a good player who had a hard time here. He's an average player who think he's world class but isn't.
August 26, 201510 yr It really was disgusting the way Rodgers threw Balotelli under the bus, and yet he has never been given any grief over it by the media. I tend to agree as Mario is a very troubled young man. If only it were possible to see him play minus the demons.
August 26, 201510 yr Rodgers may have thrown him under a bus but let's not act like Balotelli is a good player who had a hard time here. He's an average player who think he's world class but isn't.Exactly.The guys woeful and has no drive or ambition it seems. He of course has talent but each year he fails to develop the talent into something more. His own fault. Edited August 26, 201510 yr by Chelsbear
August 26, 201510 yr Exactly. The guys woeful and has no drive or ambition it seems. He of course has talent but each year he fails to develop the talent into something more. His own fault. Yep he's the kind of player who puts me off the game. How Rodgers thought he could chance him was beyond me
August 26, 201510 yr ^If memory serves they were desperate for another striker and he was about as good as there was on the market at the time.
August 26, 201510 yr ^If memory serves they were desperate for another striker and he was about as good as there was on the market at the time. Not quite, they were signing Remy, but he "failed" a medical. Then suddenly they signed balotelli. That went well.
August 26, 201510 yr They wanted Sanchez but he didn't want to go to Liverpool. So they went for Balo. Ouch.
August 26, 201510 yr Down to Rodgers' ego as much as anything. 'I'm the man that can get a game out of him, because I, am Brendan Rodgers.'
August 26, 201510 yr They wanted Sanchez but he didn't want to go to Liverpool. So they went for Balo. Ouch. Money well spent then. Almost as much a waste of money as burning in your Manchester mansion down with fireworks in the toilet.
August 26, 201510 yr To be fair, a lot of people here were saying it was a bargain as well. And i never understood it to be honest. He was even more overrated than Hulk.
August 26, 201510 yr Balotelli is a real talent, I wanted him to success at Liverpool, but I think football is not the most important thing for him. He said to Milan that he has changed, who knows maybe he will recover himself. Wish him the best of luck, I really want to see the real Balotelli, that Jose grew and gave him chance in Inter. The guy has always been trouble, i have never understood the love for him to be honest. Even Jose said he was unmanagable in his Inter days. I don't understand why anybody would wish him luck when he clearly doesn't really care all that much about what he does. The guy has talent, he just doesn't really give a sh*t, he's a waste of space.
August 26, 201510 yr Balotelli is a very entertaining lad. Wouldn't want him at Chelsea but he makes a headline. I don't mind football having characters like him. Zlatan as well. Fun to follow via media from a distance.
August 26, 201510 yr I don't get how he's tricked anyone into thinking he's anything special, the fact he's played for the big clubs he has is ridiculous tbh. He's a very average footballer with a huge ego, it's ok to have the ego when you can back it up but he can't. Edited August 26, 201510 yr by Bobbywoodhogan
