If he couldn't cope at Chelsea I doubt he will at city.

Apparently City are having trouble contacting the Woflsburg chairman, possibly because he is too busy rolling around the floor laughing to answer the phone.

Interesting to see how they fit De Bruyne in that team. I presume Sterling switches to the right and De Bruyne comes in on the left, with Navas dropped. But then Navas seems to be a favourite of Pellegrini's. Silva of course is irreplaceable.

 

I wonder if De Bruyne might be better off waiting til next Summer when Bayern will probably come calling - Robben and Ribery are both getting quite old now, and the latter seems to be injured all the time too.

I think Nasri is going to be the main casualty in all this. 

 

Navas will be first off the bench most the time I would imagine, his pace and directness is a pretty good thing to have coming off the bench. 

Hope we get Porto, Lyon and Malmo.

Porto, Lyon and Wolfsburg, sounds good to me, & just a hop, skip & jump travelling wise.

I quite like the new system - means that the group stages will be more interesting (as one of Barca/Madrid and three of Chelsea/United/Arsenal/City) will be in the second pot. It also rewards the winners of the leagues.

Champions League draw is barely getting a mention on SSN.

Agreed, the group feel fresher and I think it will have a positive influence on the knockout phase

Markovic leaving Liverpool on loan to Fenerbache - there's £25m well spent Brendan.

 

Rodgers never seemed particularly sure of how to use him - consistently deploying him at right wing-back (a position to which he was clearly ill-suited) last season was evidence of that, especially when they had Glen Johnson available, a player who theoretically would have been perfect for the role.

 

With Coutinho and now Firmino in the squad, as well as Lallana and Ibe being ahead of him in the pecking order, there seems to be little place for him.

 

Edit: Obviously now they have Clyne there's little need for any ridiculous emergency right-backs either.
