Leicester winning the title should be a wake up call to the Premier League. You need players that truly care and are willing to fight for the team. Most of the league are full of players that are just looking to get big wages. It's really pissed me off that our players can't show the same drive and hunger to win that Leicester have shown this season. I see our players jogging around the pitch most games. We can sign as many world class players as we want for a massive fee and give them ridiculous wages, but if their heart isn't in it then there really isn't any point.

Great post. Very high wages are the norm in the PL and players can become millionaires by going through the motions.

Fully agree with Scott.

 

And I don't know if most fans would agree with me, but to me supporting the team is much more than just winning trophies. I would choose a Chelsea team that perhaps may not have the talent in consistently winning trophies but show drive and give it their all on the pitch, as opposed to a team full of the best players but who clearly don't care about the team, are in it for the money, and win it on talent alone. I like to be emotionally invested in the team, and I think all of us do -- hence the affinity many of us have for the Drogba's, Lampard's, Terry's, Cech's and Azpilicueta's in the world etc...

 

Obviously it's not a mutually exclusive choice, so it's not a question of having only one of them and ideally we would win by our players being motivated, working hard and giving their all on the pitch. 

 

Losses are acceptable to me, if it was clear that the team is hurt by it and tried their all to win. Losses where the players are jogging around in the game, and then acting as everything is fine and rosey after the game are not.

 

As for the game, come on Man Utd! If Spurs drop points here, I think the title is comfortably in Leicesters hands.

The refs really need to start punishing United players from freekicks. The amount of pulling they do is ridiculous, they are definitely the worst offenders for it in the league this season. Every game i watch them, Rojo, Blind and especially Smalling are pulling players arms, shirts, and pushing them, it's ridiculous that they haven't once been penalised for it. Against us last season Rojo had Terry in a headlock and Smalling was pulling Cahill to the floor, this kind of sh*t defending needs punishing. The only reason Smalling look's like he has improved is because he get's away with everything, if he didn't foul players at every opportunity, people would still be saying he is sh*t.
