August 31, 201510 yr As soon as Fellaini came on today, it was punt punt punt punt. That would have driven me insane considering the money spent on improvements. By the way, I like an away fan such as yourself on this forum. Totally unbiased and willing to have a genuine conversation. You should have seen the sobbing Everton fans this week. Could barley read their rants past their tear-strained posts. Horrible scousers.
August 31, 201510 yr United haven't improved much at all from last season IMO. They desperately need a striker, a proper replacement for De Gea and a commanding CB to pair with Smalling. I think Schneiderlin will be a great signing, Schweinsteiger is more of a stopgap whilst Depay will be very hit and miss this season. I know the season is only 4 games old but I really can't see beyond City. They have the best squad by far, arguably the best first XI, and most importantly they look the hungriest. I thought it would be a close title race this season, and of course it still could be, things can change very quickly in this league. But City are a formidable force at the moment, and I have to say it looks rather ominous. Can't quite believe I'm saying that already, it's not even September! To think I predicted City would be fighting for the top 4 this year...

To think I predicted City would be fighting for the top 4 this year... Yeah, that is the problem. At the minute we are relying on Depay to be our star man as Rooney falters. It's just not going to work when it is his first year, is only 21 and is new to the premier league having come from a much easier one. Schneiderlin is brilliant and will be our best buy without a doubt. Schweinsteiger is still getting back to fitness, but I don't think he'll be able to play week in week out though even when he is fully fit. I am also really worried City (of all bloody teams...) is going to run away with it. Their front four of Aguero, Sterling, Silva and De Bruyne is brilliant. Kompany and Yaya Toure seem to be back in form too. The only downside is that really, all of their attacking midfielders play best behind the striker and they have no real width there. That probably won't be a huge issue though as Silva and Sterling can both play out wide. It is going to take a lot to stop them and they do seem to want it more than anyone else. Still cannot understand why Arsenal have bought so poorly considering that they were in a good position to push on. Edited August 31, 201510 yr by Brixtac
August 31, 201510 yr Roberto Soldado who couldn't buy a goal in the premier league has just scored 2 in 2 in La Liga. Maybe he's just suited to that league...
August 31, 201510 yr Supposedly we are getting Anthony Martial. He's a very talented striker/wide forward at Monaco and is only 19. The fee being touted seems very high (£30m+) and I do not know all that much about him. Still, what I do know is that he is brilliant on fifa career mode. Also, apparently according to Onda Cero, we have made contact with Antoine Griezmann. Would be a huge coup if we get him but I imagine we would have to pay his buy out clause of £50m. I think he'd want to come though as both he and his brother are Man United fans. Don't know if this is true yet though. Edited August 31, 201510 yr by Brixtac
August 31, 201510 yr It seems that there is so much money around these days that signing a 19 year unproven kid will cost Utd about 36 mill.... but they are sending a 20 year old with Prem League experience to Germany...the entire world has gone f**king mad...
August 31, 201510 yr Crazy panic buy but at least they have a panic buy. We still have 3 fullbacks for this half of the season and Ivan needs to be dropped so basically 2 fullbacks with no real rotational option.

August 31, 201510 yr http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34104415 Louis van Gaal: Man Utd not planning any panic signings That lasted long! Though to be fair, we have scouted him before, so wouldn't be what LVG would class as a panic buy. Still seems like one to me though. It's absolutely mental. Even though we can afford it, the figure is absolutely stupid. He's got a lot of potential, but there are established players that we could get who would help us now.

August 31, 201510 yr Apparently Navas has agreed to join United going in the other direction as part of the De Gea deal.
August 31, 201510 yr great deal for united, navas is really underrated, surely he'll be first choice gk
August 31, 201510 yr yeah that's a good deal for utd considering they're losing the 2nd/3rd best gk in the world right now as well as pocketing a nice bit of change too, so really martial only cost them 16 million, if you wanna look at it like that of course lol Edited August 31, 201510 yr by enigma
August 31, 201510 yr Great for us that De Gea is gone. Best GK in the league and this is weakening them.
August 31, 201510 yr Getting navas in return is good overall for them. De gea made it clear he wanted out so United have made the best of it as they can. If our resident United fans is right and they add the two linked French forwards that is a cracking end to the window for them.
August 31, 201510 yr madrid are building another great side, and now bale has started off well, and if ronaldo picks up some form they could be some force with de gea in goal to protect any defensive fragilities they may have.
August 31, 201510 yr De gea performs poorly for untied but they support him then he has one good season and he wants out. No loyalty in this sport. I hate modern football
